ActiveYuzu Money Review 2026: Tranched Stablecoin Yield and Vaults
Yuzu Money is a yield protocol built around an overcollateralized stablecoin (yzUSD), a yield-bearing version (syzUSD) and a marketplace of leveraged vaults. It targets higher yields than most stablecoin products, and the extra return comes with layered risk.

Good
Our verdict on Yuzu Money
6.5/10Yuzu Money suits experienced DeFi users who understand tranching, leverage and counterparty risk and want yield above basic stablecoin lending. Its main strength is a clear menu of products with stated risk levels, liquidity terms and integrations. The main caveat is layered risk: leveraged loops, first-loss junior capital, third-party issuers and a young track record. Fees are not published publicly, and yields are variable. Treat it as a high-risk yield product and size positions accordingly.

What is Yuzu Money?
Yuzu Money is a DeFi yield protocol that combines an overcollateralized stablecoin with managed portfolios and a marketplace of vaults. DefiLlama describes it as a stablecoin backed by curated on-chain strategies built to offer some of the highest yields in DeFi.
The protocol was listed on DefiLlama in November 2025 and runs on Ethereum, Plasma and Monad. DefiLlama shows about $64.7 million in TVL, down 16.7% over the past seven days. It lists two audits and has no native token.
The app has two main portfolios. Alpha holds leveraged DeFi yield-bearing assets, split into senior (syzUSD) and junior (yzPP) tranches. Prime holds leveraged institutional-grade real-world assets such as T-Bills and investment-grade credit. The marketplace adds vaults with stated net APYs of about 7% to 12% and risk ratings from Low to Moderate.
How Yuzu Money works
Yuzu issues yzUSD, an overcollateralized stablecoin backed by a curated set of on-chain strategies. Holders can stake it to receive syzUSD, which accrues yield. In the Alpha portfolio, syzUSD is the senior tranche and yzPP is the junior tranche.
Junior depositors take first losses on the underlying strategies. In exchange they get a higher target yield, partly funded by a Reserve Fund. Senior holders are protected by that buffer, although they are not risk-free.
The marketplace offers separate vaults. Many use leverage: they deposit yield-bearing assets like Maple's syrupUSDC or Ethena's USDe as collateral on money markets such as Aave, Morpho and Euler, borrow against it and loop the position to raise returns. yzCash skips leverage and lends stable assets for lower, more liquid yield.

Key features
01
Overcollateralized stablecoin
yzUSD is an overcollateralized stablecoin backed by curated on-chain strategies. Staking it gives syzUSD, which earns yield.
02
Senior and junior tranches
Alpha splits a leveraged DeFi yield portfolio into a senior tranche (syzUSD) and a junior first-loss tranche (yzPP).
03
Prime RWA portfolio
Prime is an actively managed portfolio of leveraged institutional-grade real-world assets, including T-Bills, overcollateralized loans and investment-grade credit.
04
Vault marketplace
Single-strategy vaults such as yzSyrup, yzCash, yzmGLOBAL and yzUSDe show net APY, leverage, risk rating and liquidity terms.
05
Cash management vault
yzCash lends with no leverage and aims for under 24-hour redemption. New venues are pre-whitelisted for 7 days before deployment.
06
Blue-chip integrations
Vaults use Aave, Morpho, Euler and Fluid money markets, with underlying assets from Maple, Fasanara and Ethena.
07
Proof of reserves
The site links to a Proof of Reserves page offering independent third-party verification of backing assets, plus a transparency page and whitelist.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Clear tranche structure that lets users choose between senior yield and higher-risk junior yield.
- Vault pages state leverage, risk rating, liquidity window and the protocols involved.
- Uses established money markets such as Aave, Morpho and Euler.
- Includes a no-leverage cash vault with a stated redemption window of under 24 hours.
- Links to Proof of Reserves, transparency pages and two audits listed on DefiLlama.
- Multi-chain presence across Ethereum, Plasma and Monad.
Watch out for
- Leveraged strategies on Aave, Morpho and Euler add liquidation and market risk on top of the underlying assets.
- Yuzu Alpha's junior tranche (yzPP) accepts first-loss risk, so depositors can lose principal before senior holders do.
- Advertised APYs are shown as net 7-day figures and can change; the homepage dashboard also showed zero or blank values in the captured text.
- TVL fell 16.7% over seven days according to DefiLlama, and the protocol has only been listed since November 2025.
- Several vaults depend on third-party issuers and protocols such as Maple, Fasanara, Ethena and Midas, adding counterparty risk.
- No native token and little public detail on team, fees or governance.
Yuzu Money fees
Fee details are not published. The homepage shows net APY figures for each vault, which suggests fees are already deducted, but it does not break out management, performance or redemption fees.
Users should check the docs and each vault page before depositing. Normal network gas costs apply on the chain used, and bridging or redemption terms (for example 3-day liquidity on yzSyrup and 24-hour liquidity on yzCash) may affect how quickly funds can be withdrawn.
Is Yuzu Money safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors or findings. The site references Proof of Reserves with independent third-party verification, which is a positive, but readers should read the details themselves.
Main risks are smart-contract bugs, liquidation of leveraged positions, depegs of underlying assets such as USDe or syrupUSDC, and reliance on outside issuers like Maple, Fasanara and Ethena. Junior yzPP depositors take first-loss risk by design. The project does not mention any hacks or incidents, but the protocol is new and returns are not guaranteed.
6 steps
How to get started with Yuzu Money
- 1
Read the docs and the transparency pages, including audit and Proof of Reserves information.
- 2
Decide which product fits your risk: Alpha, Prime, or a single-strategy vault from the marketplace.
- 3
Check each vault's leverage, risk rating and liquidity window, such as 3-day or 24-hour redemption.
- 4
Connect an Ethereum-compatible wallet on the live app and make sure you hold USDC and gas for the right network.
- 5
Start with a small deposit and confirm how deposits, staking and redemptions behave.
- 6
Monitor the dashboard for APY changes, collateral ratios and any whitelist updates.
Who Yuzu Money is for
Yuzu Money is for DeFi-literate users who already hold stablecoins and want higher yields than plain lending, and who can evaluate leverage, tranche risk and underlying asset exposure. It is not suited to beginners seeking a risk-free savings product.

Users can stake yzUSD to receive syzUSD, the yield-bearing senior tranche. Depositors in yzPP, the junior tranche, accept first-loss risk in return for a higher target yield, partly funded by a Reserve Fund.
What yields does Yuzu Money show?
The homepage lists vaults such as yzSyrup (about 10% net APY over 7 days), yzCash (about 7%), yzmGLOBAL (about 12%) and yzUSDe (about 10%). These are variable figures shown at the time of capture and are not guaranteed.
Does Yuzu Money have a token?
No. Public sources show no token for Yuzu Money in DefiLlama data. The site does mention a Points program, but the details are not public.
Which chains does Yuzu Money support?
