Sparta Review 2026: A Fair-Launch AMM on BNB Chain
Sparta, formally Spartan Protocol, is a 2020 fair-launch AMM on BNB Chain that pairs every pool with its SPARTA token. Trading activity is now minimal, so treat it as a legacy DeFi project.

Our verdict on Sparta
3.5/10Sparta (Spartan Protocol) is a 2020 BNB Chain AMM whose idea is straightforward: every pool pairs a listed token with SPARTA, which also carries DAO votes. The fair-launch distribution is its most distinctive point. The main caveat is activity. Reported volume is close to zero, the market cap is tiny, and no audits, team details or fee schedule are published in the sources reviewed. It suits researchers or long-time community members interested in early BNB Chain DeFi design, not anyone needing deep liquidity or documented security.

What is Sparta?
Sparta is better known as Spartan Protocol, a decentralized finance platform launched in 2020 on BNB Chain. It combines a liquidity-sensitive automated market maker with the low fees and quick settlement of that network, offering open, permissionless swaps, liquidity provision and staking.
Its model is simple to describe: SPARTA is paired in equal value with every listed token in a pool and serves as the shared settlement asset. Users can swap without an account, earn revenue by supplying liquidity, stake LP tokens for extra yield and vote in an on-chain DAO.
The project describes itself as a fair-launch, community-built organisation founded by a collaboration of communities from Binance Chain projects. No ICO took place. Today the picture is quieter: market trackers show a token price near a fortieth of a cent, a market cap in the tens of thousands of dollars at most, and almost no daily volume. The official homepage could not be reached, and the project does not publish audits or fee details in the sources reviewed.
How Sparta works
Spartan Protocol is an automated market maker. Instead of an order book, users trade against pools of tokens held in smart contracts. Prices come from the ratio of assets in a pool, and the protocol says its algorithm is liquidity-sensitive, meaning it responds to pool conditions.
Each pool pairs SPARTA with one other listed token in equal value. SPARTA therefore works as the common settlement asset, so a swap between two non-SPARTA tokens passes through SPARTA. Liquidity providers deposit into these pools to earn a share of revenue, and can stake the resulting LP tokens for additional yield.
Governance runs through a DAO on-chain. SPARTA holders vote on protocol changes. At launch, the token was distributed through a proof-of-burn of selected bridged BEP2 tokens, which the project presents as a fair launch with no ICO or discounted allocation.
6 features
Key features
01
Liquidity-sensitive AMM
The protocol uses a liquidity-sensitive AMM algorithm designed to make launching and accessing pools easier on BNB Chain.
02
SPARTA-paired pools
Every pool pairs SPARTA in equal value with a listed token, so SPARTA acts as the common settlement asset across the platform.
03
Permissionless swaps
Users can swap tokens directly from their wallet without registering an account.
04
LP staking
Liquidity providers earn revenue from pools and can stake LP tokens for extra yield.
05
On-chain DAO
Token holders vote on changes through a DAO that the project describes as 100% on-chain.
06
BNB Chain settlement
Operating on BNB Chain gives the protocol low gas costs and fast settlement compared with many other networks.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Fair-launch design: tokens came from a proof-of-burn with no ICO or discounted allocation, according to the project
- Clear structure with SPARTA paired in every pool as the settlement asset
- Permissionless swaps with no account needed
- Runs on BNB Chain, where gas costs are low
- Governance is on-chain through a DAO
Watch out for
- Trading activity is tiny: 24-hour volume is reported between zero and under 100 dollars, and market cap is only a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars
- No audit reports, team details or fee schedule could be confirmed from the sources reviewed
- The official website could not be reached, so current maintenance status is unclear
- The SPARTA token is not listed for trading on at least one major exchange that tracks it
- Name confusion with other projects called Sparta, including a separate meme coin and unrelated media, makes research harder
Sparta fees
The sources reviewed do not publish a swap fee, liquidity provider share or staking reward rate for Spartan Protocol. Because the AMM is described as liquidity-sensitive, fees may depend on pool conditions, but no specific formula is stated.
Users would see the actual cost in the swap interface before confirming, plus BNB Chain gas on every transaction. With very shallow liquidity, slippage is likely to matter more than the fee itself.
Is Sparta safe?
The sources reviewed do not mention any smart-contract audit, bug bounty, insurance cover or named team. Without those, users must rely on reading the contracts themselves. As with any AMM, liquidity providers face smart-contract risk and impermanent loss, and very thin pools can produce heavy slippage.
Because the homepage could not be fetched and trading activity is near zero, the project may be dormant or only lightly maintained. That raises the risk of outdated interfaces and impersonation sites. Regulatory status is not stated. Only use funds you can afford to lose and verify the interface independently.
6 steps
How to get started with Sparta
- 1
Confirm the current official interface through the project's community channels, since the homepage could not be reached and lookalike sites are a risk.
- 2
Set up a BNB Chain compatible wallet and fund it with a small amount of BNB for gas.
- 3
Check the SPARTA pool depth and recent volume before trading, because liquidity is very thin.
- 4
Run a small test swap and review the quoted slippage before confirming.
- 5
If providing liquidity, understand impermanent loss and how SPARTA pairing works before depositing.
- 6
Never approve more token spending than needed, and revoke approvals when finished.
Who Sparta is for
Sparta suits DeFi researchers and long-standing community members interested in early BNB Chain AMM designs and fair-launch token models. It is a poor fit for traders needing deep liquidity, or for users who require published audits, a visible team and an actively maintained interface.
Sparta FAQs
What is Sparta (Spartan Protocol)?
Spartan Protocol is a decentralized finance platform on BNB Chain. It uses a liquidity-sensitive automated market maker so users can swap tokens, provide liquidity and stake LP tokens without creating an account.
What is the SPARTA token used for?
SPARTA is the protocol's native token and the common settlement asset. Every pool pairs SPARTA in equal value with another listed token, and holders can use it to vote in the on-chain DAO.
Is Spartan Protocol still active?
Market trackers show a price around $0.00024 with 24-hour volume between zero and under $100. One tracker lists a circulating supply of roughly 74.9 million SPARTA and a market cap of about 15,500 euros. These figures point to very thin liquidity.
How was SPARTA launched?
The protocol says all SPARTA came from a proof-of-burn of selected bridged BEP2 tokens, with no ICO, no discounted allocation and no fundraising through token distribution. Holders had to burn, bond through liquidity provision or buy on the open market.
Has Spartan Protocol been audited?
No audit reports, team identities or fee schedule appear in the sources reviewed. Anyone considering use should look for audit documentation and read the contracts before depositing funds.
Is this the same as other coins named Sparta?
No. The SPARTA token discussed here belongs to Spartan Protocol on BNB Chain. A separate token also called Sparta is described as a meme coin, and other results with the same name concern music and video games.
