ActiveSirius Review 2026: One-Token Access to Tezos Liquidity Baking
Sirius (SIRS) is a Tezos token that gives you a share of the tez/tzBTC Liquidity Baking pool through a single purchase. It simplifies participation, but impermanent loss and unpublished fee details are the main caveats.

Our verdict on Sirius
6.0/10Sirius suits Tezos users who want exposure to the tez/tzBTC Liquidity Baking pool without managing a two-sided deposit themselves. Its main strength is simplicity: one token buys a share of the pool and the project says it pays tez rewards. The main caveat is impermanent loss, which the project itself warns about. Fee details and audit specifics are not published publicly reviewed, so check both before committing funds.

What is Sirius?
Sirius is a liquidity pair token on Tezos. Its token, SIRS, represents a share of the Liquidity Baking pool between tez (XTZ) and tzBTC, which Tezos incentivizes at the protocol level.
The pitch is convenience. Before Sirius, users had to deposit tez and tzBTC into the pool in several steps. The project says earning Liquidity Baking rewards is now as simple as buying SIRS.
DefiLlama lists Sirius under DEXs on Tezos, with about 1.73 million USD in TVL, a 6.2% drop over seven days, and two audits listed. Its description there is a decentralized exchange contract between XTZ and tzBTC. Public sources give no further detail on the team, audits or fees.
How Sirius works
Liquidity Baking is a protocol-level incentive on Tezos. A decentralized pool holds tez and tzBTC and uses an automated market maker, where an algorithm sets prices from a predefined rule set. Liquidity providers who put value into the pool earn rewards in tez.
Normally you would need several transactions to deposit equal values of tez and tzBTC. Sirius packages this into one token. When you buy SIRS, you are buying a portion of the pool stake, and the project says rewards come in tez.
Because the pool holds two assets whose prices move independently, your position is exposed to impermanent loss. This is the gap between holding the pool share and just holding the two assets.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Single-token access to the tez/tzBTC Liquidity Baking pool instead of a multi-step deposit
- Rewards are paid in tez, the native Tezos token
- Runs on Tezos, a proof-of-stake chain the project describes as energy efficient
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
- The project openly flags impermanent loss on its homepage
Watch out for
- Impermanent loss risk from the tez/tzBTC pair, which the project itself flags
- Exposure to only one pool, so there is no diversification across pairs
- Fees, including any token-level or swap costs, are not published
- Audit count is listed on DefiLlama but the auditors and findings are not given publicly
- TVL of about 1.7 million USD is modest and fell 6.2% over seven days
- Name is shared with unrelated projects (Sirius Protocol on Solana, Sirius Network), which can confuse searches
Sirius fees
Fees are not published. The homepage does not state a management fee, swap fee or any other charge for buying or holding SIRS.
Users should check the swap interface for quoted costs and slippage before trading. They should also expect normal Tezos network fees and the spread of the underlying automated market maker.
Is Sirius safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits for Sirius, but the auditors, dates and findings are not. Readers should look for the audit reports themselves before depositing.
Risks include smart-contract risk, impermanent loss from the tez/tzBTC pair, and the exposure of holding a pool share through a token. Public sources mention no hacks or incidents, and say nothing about regulatory status or team identity.
6 steps
How to get started with Sirius
- 1
Set up a Tezos-compatible wallet and fund it with XTZ.
- 2
Open the official Sirius site and read the notes on impermanent loss.
- 3
Check the swap quote, including slippage and network fees, for XTZ to SIRS.
- 4
Start with a small amount you can afford to lose, and confirm the swap in your wallet.
- 5
Track your SIRS balance and the tez rewards the project describes.
- 6
Decide in advance when you would sell SIRS, since the value follows the tez/tzBTC pool.
Who Sirius is for
Sirius is for Tezos holders who want passive exposure to Liquidity Baking and accept the impermanent loss risk of a tez/tzBTC position. It is less suited to users who want diversified yield, published fee schedules or detailed audit information up front.
Sirius FAQs
What is Sirius (SIRS)?
Sirius is a token on Tezos. Holding SIRS represents a portion of the stake in the tez/tzBTC Liquidity Baking pool, so you take part in that pool by buying one token.
What rewards does Sirius pay?
According to the project, SIRS holders are rewarded with tez, the native token of Tezos, through Liquidity Baking. The rates and how rewards are distributed are not stated.
Is there a risk of losing money with Sirius?
Yes. The homepage notes a risk of impermanent loss from the tzBTC/tez pair. If the relative prices of the two assets move, your position can be worth less than simply holding both.
Is Sirius the same as Liquidity Baking?
No. Liquidity Baking is a protocol-level incentive on Tezos. Sirius is a token that wraps participation in it, so you do not need the multi-step process of adding tez and tzBTC to the pool yourself.
How do I buy SIRS?
The homepage offers a swap from XTZ to SIRS. You can also join the underlying pool directly by adding equal values of tez and tzBTC.
Is this the same Sirius as the Solana coin or Sirius Network?
No. Public reporting for the name also show Sirius Protocol on Solana, Sirius Network and Sirius Chain. This review covers only the Tezos token SIRS.
