3Route Review 2026: Tezos DEX Aggregator and Agent Swap API

3Route is a swap aggregator that finds the best route for a token trade across several Tezos DEXs, and it also sells pay-per-call quote and swap access to AI agents and apps. It is a routing tool, not a custodial exchange, and its main trade-off is depending on the liquidity and contracts of the DEXs it routes through.

Our verdict on 3route

6.9/10

3Route suits Tezos users who want the best available price across several DEXs without choosing a pool by hand, and developers or agents who need quotes and unsigned swaps on a pay-per-call basis. Its main strength is routing: the site describes splitting trades across pools and advertises no service fee on the web app. The main caveat is that a routing service is only as safe as the DEX contracts it calls. The audit claim is stated on the site but the report was not in the material reviewed, so verify it before trading large amounts.

What is 3route?

3Route is a DEX aggregator focused on Tezos. Its public description says it combines liquidity from several Tezos decentralised exchanges into a single swap interface. The project is built by Baking Bad, a Tezos tooling developer, and its site presents it as the leading DEX aggregator on Tezos, with more than 190 Tezos tokens and over 1,000 liquidity pools in its routing.

The product has two parts. The first is a web swap app where a Tezos user connects a wallet, picks a pair and signs one transaction. The second is an API for quotes and unsigned swaps, aimed at AI agents, bots, wallets and apps. The API is paid per call in USDC through x402 or MPP, and the site lists Ethereum, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Base and Etherlink as supported chains for that flow.

An independent listing on a public TVL tracker shows the product as a DEX aggregator with no token of its own and no recorded audits in that listing. The company's own site claims an audit by Inference. Separate third-party write-ups and public reporting describes the Tezos routing service and the agent API in similar terms.

The project does not publish its team names, a formal security policy, or a full fee schedule for partners. Those gaps matter more for a routing service than for a wallet, because the site handles the path of each trade.

How 3route works

A decentralised exchange, or DEX, is a smart contract that lets people swap one token for another against a pool of liquidity. Prices in each pool move with the size of the trade, so the same swap can give different outputs on different pools. An aggregator like 3Route reads several pools at once and finds the combination that returns the most tokens for the amount you put in.

On Tezos, 3Route says it processes each new block as it arrives, so quotes reflect the latest on-chain state rather than a cached price. When you request a swap, it returns a transaction that your wallet signs. The aggregator does not take custody of your tokens at any point in that flow.

For developers and AI agents, the same routing engine is exposed as an API. A quote call returns an expected input, output and gas estimate without building an executable transaction. A swap call returns an unsigned transaction that the caller compares with a fresh quote and then signs locally. Payments for those calls are made per request in USDC using the x402 or MPP standards, which are payment protocols for machine-to-machine requests.

6 features

Key features

01

Multi-DEX routing

Compares liquidity from multiple Tezos DEXs and picks the route with the best output for a given swap.

02

Multi-route single transaction

Splits and combines routes so a single transaction can execute several hops across pools.

03

Quote before you sign

Quotes an output amount before signing, with a claimed price improvement of up to 25% over a single pool.

04

Unsigned swap transactions

Returns ready-to-sign transactions for wallets, bots and apps, without holding user funds.

05

Pay-per-call agent API

Lets AI agents request quotes and swaps on Ethereum, Base, Etherlink, Monad and Robinhood Chain, paid per call with x402 or MPP.

06

Partner integration API

Offers a dedicated API for integrating partners such as wallets, marketplaces and DeFi apps.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Routes trades across several Tezos DEXs, so a single swap can use the route with the best output.
  • The web interface advertises no service fee of its own.
  • Quotes are presented before signing, and swaps return unsigned transactions that the user signs.
  • The agent API has a simple per-call price and needs no subscription or API key.

Watch out for

  • The site says the swap contracts were audited by Inference, but no audit report is linked in the material available, so the claim cannot be checked here.
  • Tezos swaps are only as safe as the underlying DEX contracts the router sends orders to, and those are outside 3Route's control.
  • The agent API has a per-call fee and relies on x402 or MPP payment rails, which adds a payment layer most swap users do not need.
  • No own token, no published team names beyond the Baking Bad developer credit, and no public fee schedule for the API beyond the per-call price.

3route fees

The Tezos swap interface advertises a 0% service fee from 3Route itself. Users still pay Tezos network fees and any pool fees on the DEX routes the aggregator chooses, and the site does not publish a single consolidated fee table.

The agent API is priced per call. The site states a quote or swap call costs $0.001 with no subscription or API key, and that frequent users can use x402 batch settlement or MPP sessions. Partner API pricing is not published; the site says partners should contact the team.

Is 3route safe?

3Route does not take custody of user tokens in the swap flow; each swap is a transaction the user signs in their own wallet. The main risks are smart-contract risk in the aggregator and in the DEX pools it routes through, plus market risk from price moves and low liquidity in thinly traded tokens.

The site states that its contracts were audited by Inference. The material available does not include the report, its date or its scope, and the public TVL listing shows no audits. Readers should check the audit themselves before relying on it.

For the agent API, the main risks are operational. An agent holding a signing key can move funds, so keys should be stored securely and transactions should be reviewed before signing. The project does not publish a regulatory status or a dispute process. Trading involves risk of loss. Check the rules that apply where you live before using any online financial service.

5 steps

How to get started with 3route

  1. 1

Open the Tezos swap app from the official site and connect a Tezos wallet.

  2. 2

Choose the input and output tokens, for example XTZ to USDT, and review the quoted output and route.

  3. 3

Check the slippage setting and the minimum amount you will receive before approving.

  4. 4

Sign the single transaction in your wallet and wait for confirmation on Tezos.

  5. 5

For agent use, fund a wallet with USDC on a supported payment chain, follow the agent setup guide, and keep signing keys in your own environment.

Who 3route is for

This product is for Tezos holders who swap tokens often and want a single transaction that searches several pools, and for developers and AI agent builders who need quote and unsigned swap calls without managing an API key.

3route FAQs

What is 3Route?

3Route is a DEX aggregator. It checks several decentralised exchanges on Tezos at once, looks for the route that gives the best output for a given input, and builds a single transaction that executes that route. The site says it is the leading aggregator on Tezos and lists more than 190 Tezos tokens and over 1,000 liquidity pools.

Does 3Route charge fees?

The Tezos swap page advertises a 0% service fee on trades. Users still pay the Tezos network fee and any fees charged by the underlying DEX pools the route uses, and the site does not publish a full fee breakdown. The agent API is priced at $0.001 per quote or swap call, paid through x402 or MPP.

Has 3Route been audited?

The site states the aggregator's contracts were audited by Inference. The material available does not include the audit report or its date, and the project does not publish a broader security policy. Users should read the audit themselves and treat smart-contract risk as present on any DeFi swap.

How does the agent API work?

Ask an AI agent or a developer to call the quote endpoint, which returns an expected output and a ready-to-sign transaction. The agent pays a small amount per call in USDC through x402 or MPP. The user or agent then signs the transaction with its own key. Nothing is broadcast without a signature.

Is it safe to connect a wallet?

Gambling is not part of this product. For any online service, check that it is legal where you live, and only use wallets and keys you control. Keep private keys out of shared files and never sign a transaction you have not read.
