LunarBase Review 2026: Prop AMM Priced Offchain, Settled Onchain

LunarBase is a proactive market maker, or prop AMM, on Base and BNB Chain. Swaps settle onchain, while the pool's prices come from an offchain model tracking the real market. It is mostly reached through aggregators, and its pool depth is still small.

Our verdict on Lunarbase

5.9/10

LunarBase suits traders and integrators who already use aggregators and want to understand a prop AMM that quotes from an offchain price while settling onchain. Its main strength is the reported 2.2 bps BNB/USDT spread and wide aggregator coverage. The main caveat is that no audits are listed, pool depth is small, and quotes depend on an offchain system the operator controls. Retail users should start small and compare quotes against other venues.

What is Lunarbase?

LunarBase describes itself as an onchain pool, priced offchain from the real market. It is a proactive market maker, often called a prop AMM, and the homepage says it is live on Base and BNB Chain, with Arbitrum and Robinhood Chain listed as next. Third-party tracking also lists a Monad deployment.

Most trading reaches it through aggregators and wallets rather than a dedicated trading app. The homepage names 1inch, 0x, KyberSwap, OpenOcean, Rango, LI.FI, deBridge, Across, Relay and others, plus wallets like MetaMask and Trust Wallet. It reports about $399M traded to date and a 30-day average of $2.3M a day. These are self-reported figures.

Pool depth is modest. Tracked total value locked is roughly $117K, and the project was listed on trackers from 31 March 2026. There is no token. YZi Labs is named as a backer. Roadmap items include around-the-clock quotes for tokenized stocks and an AI quoting model that currently runs only in a sandbox.

How Lunarbase works

A normal AMM sets prices from a formula and the ratio of tokens in the pool, so prices lag the wider market until arbitrageurs correct them. LunarBase uses a different approach. It keeps an onchain pool but updates its quotes from an offchain pricing engine that follows the real market. The project says this produces tighter spreads for traders.

Swaps still execute onchain. Most volume arrives through aggregators and wallets that compare many venues and send an order to whichever gives the best price. LunarBase lists more than 20 such venues, including 1inch, 0x, KyberSwap and CoW Swap via solvers. A trader does not need to visit a LunarBase site to use it.

Liquidity providers are described as inventory providers who allocate capital on Base by arrangement. The project says they are paid in spread, not emissions. Because the quoting logic sits offchain, the quality of prices depends on the operator's model. The project is also testing an AI quoting model in a sandbox, though none of its quotes are executed.

8 features

Key features

01

Offchain-priced onchain pool

The pool is priced offchain from the real market, while swaps still execute and settle onchain. The aim is tighter quotes than a passive pool formula gives.

02

Frequent quote updates

The project reports around 34 thousand price updates a day on its BNB/USDT pool, so quotes track the market rather than sitting static.

03

Broad aggregator routing

Swaps are routed by 1inch, 0x, KyberSwap, OpenOcean, Rango, LiquidMesh, Tycho and CoW Swap via solvers, among 20+ venues. Cross-chain routes such as LI.FI, Mayan, deBridge, Across and Relay are also listed.

04

Wallet-level access

The listed wallets include MetaMask, Trust Wallet, OKX Wallet, Binance Wallet and Bitget Wallet, so users can reach the pool from familiar interfaces.

05

Spread-based economics

The project says it earns through spread rather than token emissions, so activity is not tied to incentive programs.

06

Published docs and code

Integration docs, ABIs and contract addresses are on GitHub, and a lightpaper, whitepaper and data room are linked for investors and integrators.

07

Tokenized stock quotes (planned)

A planned product would quote tokenized stocks around the clock, tracking a 24/7 reference price when US markets are closed. It is in development.

08

Quoting Intelligence (sandbox)

An AI model trained with reinforcement learning on aggregator swap flow sets quote skew and width. It runs only in a sandbox and none of its quotes are executed.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Reports a tight 2.2 bps time-weighted spread on BNB/USDT, with about 34 thousand price updates a day.
  • Reachable through 20+ aggregator and bridge venues and common wallets, so no separate app is needed.
  • Economics are described as spread-based, not paid by token emissions.
  • Docs, ABIs and contract addresses are published on GitHub, and a lightpaper and data room are available.
  • Names YZi Labs as an investor.
  • Clear separation between live products and roadmap items such as stocks and the AI model.

Watch out for

  • Total value locked is small, at roughly $117K, so large swaps depend on routing and may see limited depth.
  • No audits are listed for the protocol, and the project does not publish audit reports on its homepage.
  • Quotes are priced offchain, so users rely on the operator's pricing system and its uptime.
  • Volume, spread and update figures on the homepage are self-reported and cover short windows.
  • The stock-quoting and AI features are in development or sandbox only, so they should not factor into a decision today.
  • The project has no token and the team is not named in the material reviewed, which limits how much a user can check about who runs it.

Lunarbase fees

The project does not publish a protocol fee table on its homepage. It says liquidity is paid in spread, not emissions, which means the cost of a trade is built into the quoted price.

For BNB/USDT, the project reports a time-weighted spread of 2.2 basis points over 28 September to 4 October. Traders also pay network gas, and any fee charged by the aggregator or wallet they route through. Users would see the final price and costs in the aggregator quote before signing.

Is Lunarbase safe?

No audits are listed for LunarBase in the tracking data, and the homepage does not point to an audit report. Contract addresses and ABIs are on GitHub, so the code can be inspected, but that is not a substitute for an independent review. The project names an investor, YZi Labs, but does not publish team names on the homepage.

The main risks are smart-contract risk, reliance on an offchain pricing system, and thin liquidity. If the quoting engine misprices or goes offline, the pool could trade at poor prices or be exploited. Swaps are non-custodial in the sense that users sign onchain transactions, but inventory providers allocate capital by arrangement and should assess counterparty terms. No incidents are described in the material reviewed. Treat balances as at risk and size trades accordingly.

7 steps

How to get started with Lunarbase

  1. 1

Choose a supported network. The project says it is live on Base and BNB Chain.

  2. 2

Fund a compatible wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet, OKX Wallet, Binance Wallet or Bitget Wallet with the token to swap and some native gas token.

  3. 3

Open an aggregator or wallet swap screen that routes through LunarBase, such as 1inch, 0x, KyberSwap or OpenOcean.

  4. 4

Compare the quote and expected slippage against other routes before confirming.

  5. 5

Approve the token if needed, then sign the swap and check the transaction on a block explorer.

  6. 6

Start with a small amount, since the pool is shallow and the product is young.

  7. 7

Integrators and inventory providers can read the GitHub docs and contact the team through the channels listed on the site.

Who Lunarbase is for

LunarBase fits DeFi traders who swap through aggregators on Base or BNB Chain and care about spread. It also suits wallet and aggregator teams looking for an integration, and market makers interested in allocating inventory. Users who need audited contracts, deep liquidity or a native token should look elsewhere or wait for more information.

Lunarbase FAQs

What is a prop AMM?

A prop AMM is an onchain pool whose quotes are set by a proprietary pricing engine rather than a fixed formula such as constant product. LunarBase says its pool is priced offchain from the real market and that swaps execute onchain.

Which chains does LunarBase support?

The project says it is live on Base and BNB Chain, with Arbitrum and Robinhood Chain listed as next. Third-party tracking also lists a Monad deployment.

How do I trade on LunarBase?

The homepage lists integrations with 1inch, 0x, KyberSwap, OpenOcean, Rango, LI.FI, deBridge, Across, Relay, CoW Swap via solvers and others, plus wallets such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet, OKX Wallet, Binance Wallet and Bitget Wallet. Users generally reach it by swapping through one of those venues rather than a dedicated trading page.

Can I provide liquidity or earn yield?

Not directly. The project says liquidity providers are paid in spread, not emissions, and that inventory is allocated on Base by arrangement. There is no public farming program or token described.

Has LunarBase been audited?

No audits are listed in the tracking data, and the homepage does not mention any. Docs, ABIs and contract addresses are published on GitHub, so technically inclined users can review the code themselves.

What does it cost to swap?

The project does not publish a protocol fee schedule on its homepage. The cost to a trader shows up as the quoted spread, which the project reports as 2.2 basis points time-weighted for BNB/USDT, plus network gas and any aggregator fees.

Who backs LunarBase?

The homepage says it is backed by YZi Labs. The team's names and the legal entity are not published on the page.
