Initia is a layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK and designed around a network of application-specific rollups, known as Minitias. The L1 acts as a settlement and coordination layer, while individual apps can run on their own rollups with their own settings. It is not a single EVM chain: it is part of the Cosmos family, uses IBC for cross-chain messaging, and supports multiple virtual machines, with Move among the options.
The native token is INIT. It is used for staking, governance and paying network fees, in the same way as many Cosmos-based chains. Fees on the L1 are paid in the network's own token, and rollups can set up their own fee arrangements. At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Initia is about $3.6M, so this is a young and fairly small ecosystem.
The dApps we list for Initia are mostly DeFi and staking tools. InitiaDEX is a decentralized exchange with Balancer-style weighted pools and StableSwap pools. Cabal is a governance-incentive and yield layer where users deposit INIT or LP tokens to capture staking rewards. Bitget also shows up on the list, but it is a centralized exchange that works across many chains rather than an Initia-native app. We list 8 dApps in total on this page.

Initia FAQs
What is Initia?
Initia is a layer 1 blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK that is designed to work with its own application-specific rollups, called Minitias. The idea is that the L1 handles settlement and shared services while individual apps run on their own rollups.
What is the INIT token used for?
INIT is the native token of the Initia network. It is used for staking to help secure the chain and for governance, and it also pays network fees. Apps such as Cabal build yield products around staking INIT.
Is Initia compatible with Ethereum and the EVM?
Not as a single design. The Initia L1 is a Cosmos chain, and the project supports several virtual machines on its rollups, including Move-based ones. Search coverage of the project mentions MoveVM, so check each app or rollup to see which environment it uses.
Which dApps are available on Initia?
Our site lists 8 dApps for Initia. The ones with the most detail here are InitiaDEX, a decentralized exchange, and Cabal, a governance-incentive and yield app. Bitget also appears in the list, but it is a centralized exchange that supports many chains.
How much value is locked on Initia?
At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Initia is about $3.6M, which is small next to the largest chains. InitiaDEX holds about $3.7M and Cabal about $2.9M by our data, and the figures differ because of how each source counts and when it updates. Small pools can also mean thinner liquidity and larger price impact on trades.
What should I check before using a dApp on Initia?
Check the contract and the team, start with small amounts, and learn how staking lockups or unbonding periods work. Newer ecosystems tend to have less liquidity and less history, so risk is higher. Only use funds you can afford to lose.
What is the largest dApp on Initia by TVL?
Bitget is the largest dApp on Initia by total value locked, with $5.82B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Echelon Market ($5.43M) and InitiaDEX ($3.56M). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.
Which dApp on Initia has the highest DappsAtlas score?
Bitget has the highest score at 7.6/10, ahead of Echelon Market (6.5) and InitiaDEX (6.0). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.
