What Kite (KITE) is
Kite is a project that describes itself as infrastructure for AI agents: software programs that act on a user's behalf and may need to pay for data, computing power or other services without a human approving each step. Its stated goal is to give those agents a way to hold an identity, follow spending rules and settle payments using cryptographic checks. The project also advertises native compatibility with x402, a payment standard designed for machine-to-machine transactions over the web.
Sources describe Kite AI as a Layer 1 blockchain that is EVM-compatible and built around stablecoin payments, with the aim of keeping transactions fast and cheap enough for frequent small payments between agents. Our data lists KITE under Layer 1 tokens, AI tokens and AI agent tokens.
KITE is the token tied to that ecosystem. The data does not give a launch date or a consensus mechanism, although some public write-ups describe the network as Proof-of-Stake. Treat the technical details as the project's own claims until you have checked them against its documentation.
What the token is used for
Public descriptions of KITE point to several roles. The first is staking and delegation, where holders lock tokens to help secure the network or back other participants. The second is governance, meaning a say in protocol decisions. The third is transaction settlement within the ecosystem, including activity between AI agents.
Some write-ups also say the token helps with marketplace curation, so that service providers and modules in the ecosystem have an economic stake in their quality. The whitepaper discusses agent identity and session tokens, but those are separate mechanisms from KITE itself.
It is worth separating utility described on paper from utility actually in use. How much real agent payment volume runs through the network, and how much of it needs KITE rather than stablecoins, is something to check in current project data rather than assume. If you are looking at the token, ask which of these functions are live today and which are planned.
Supply and tokenomics
At the time of writing (as of 2026-11-05), KITE has a maximum and total supply of 10 billion tokens, with about 2.39 billion in circulation. That is roughly a quarter of the total, so most of the supply is still not circulating.
The gap shows up in the valuation figures. Market capitalisation, based on circulating supply, was about $286 million, while fully diluted valuation, which assumes all 10 billion tokens exist at the current price, was about $1.20 billion. If locked tokens are released over time, the circulating supply grows, which can add selling pressure unless demand grows too.
The data here does not include the allocation split between team, investors, community and ecosystem, or the vesting schedule. Those details matter, and you should read them in the official tokenomics documentation before drawing conclusions. Third-party summaries of emissions and allocation often differ from each other.
Chains and how it is held and traded
Our data shows KITE issued on four networks: Ethereum, Hyperliquid L1, BNB Chain and Avalanche. It is not listed as the native token of any chain in our dataset, even though some sources call it the native asset of the Kite AI chain. That mismatch is common in early-stage projects, where a token exists on existing networks before or alongside a dedicated mainnet. Check which version of the token you hold.
One source notes that KITE, as an ERC-20 token, can be kept in any Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports custom tokens. Versions on other chains follow the standards of those chains. Trading takes place mainly on centralised exchanges and on decentralised exchanges on the chains above. Volume in the past 24 hours was about $7.2 million, which is modest relative to market cap, so large orders may move the price.
Always confirm the contract address from the project's official channels before swapping, because lookalike tokens are common.
History and market snapshot
As of 2026-11-05, KITE traded at about $0.12 and ranked around 139 by market cap. Its recorded all-time high was about $0.32 on 2026-03-06, and its all-time low was about $0.062 on 2025-11-04. The price was up roughly 7% over seven days and about 40% over one year. The token's market history therefore spans only about a year, so there is little long-term data to judge it by.
The project's profile has been raised by its association with the AI agent theme and by being listed in categories such as Binance Alpha Spotlight, according to our data. A listing category is not an endorsement and says little about the quality of the technology.
The launch date is not given in our data, and we do not want to guess at other events. For the full timeline of funding, mainnet and exchange listings, rely on the project's own announcements.
Risks to understand
The main risks are as follows.
- Narrative risk: AI agent tokens can move with sentiment more than with measurable usage.
- Unlock risk: With about a quarter of supply circulating, future releases could weigh on the price.
- Adoption risk: Agent payments are a young idea, and standards like x402 may be adopted by competing networks.
- Technical risk: New chains and cross-chain token versions can have bugs, bridge failures or governance disputes.
- Liquidity risk: Modest trading volume can mean wide spreads.
- Scam risk: Fake tokens and phishing sites copy popular names.
Nothing here is investment advice, and the price can fall as well as rise. Only use money you can afford to lose.
How to store KITE safely
For longer-term holdings, a hardware wallet that supports the relevant chain is the usual choice. Use a wallet that handles custom tokens on Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche or Hyperliquid, depending on which version you own. Keep the recovery phrase offline, never type it into a website, and never share it with anyone claiming to be support.
Before sending a large amount, send a small test transaction. Double-check the network and contract address, since sending a token to the wrong chain can make it hard or impossible to recover. Be careful with approvals when using decentralised apps and revoke permissions you no longer need.
If you leave tokens on an exchange, you rely on that company's security and solvency. Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, and use a dedicated email address for your crypto accounts.
