Our verdict on YieldFi
6.8/10YieldFi suits users who want managed, vault-based yield and are comfortable with strategies run by outside risk managers, including some exchange-based activity. Its main strength is transparency tooling: attested proof of reserves, live exposure data and performance metrics. The main caveat is that yields are variable estimates, redemptions depend on the risk manager and take time, fees are not published on the homepage, and U.S. persons are excluded. Read the documentation and audit reports first.

What is YieldFi?
YieldFi describes itself as a capital market for the internet economy: an issuance, distribution and intelligence layer for tokenized yield vaults. Depositors can access managed yield products, and curators such as family offices, DAOs and treasuries can gather capital onchain without building a traditional fund.
DefiLlama lists it in the yield aggregator category, with roughly 11.4 million dollars in TVL, and lists it since January 2025. It has no governance token of its own. Its vault tokens, such as yUSD, yHLP and vyUSD, are tracked by price sites.
The homepage says YieldFi V3 is live, with some legacy vaults still available on the previous interface during migration. Its pitch centres on transparency, with proof of reserves, live exposure data and performance metrics for each product.
How YieldFi works
YieldFi acts as an issuance, distribution and intelligence layer for tokenized yield vaults. A curator or risk manager runs a strategy and YieldFi supplies the vault tokens, onboarding, tracking and reporting. Depositors put in assets and receive a token whose price reflects the vault's performance.
Strategies can deploy capital into DeFi protocols using MPC wallets, or run through segregated trading sub-accounts on centralized exchanges. Because part of the activity can happen off-chain, YieldFi publishes proof of reserves and an exposure dashboard so users can see what backs each product.
Redemptions are not instant. The site says standard requests are usually processed after two price updates, and only when the Strategy Risk Manager has set aside the funds. The price used is generally the request-time price, though it may differ.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Proof of reserves is described as independently attested for every earn product.
- A dashboard shows real-time exposure by asset, protocol and chain, plus price, APY and TVL history.
- Vaults are deployed across more than a dozen chains, including Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum.
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama.
- Institutional-style setup with MPC wallets and segregated exchange sub-accounts.
- Clear and detailed risk and redemption disclosures on the homepage.
Watch out for
- Redemption timing is indicative only and depends on the Strategy Risk Manager setting funds aside, so withdrawals can take longer than the interface suggests.
- Yield depends on off-chain and exchange-based strategies, which add counterparty and operational risk beyond smart-contract risk.
- The displayed APY is a 7-day trailing estimate and is explicitly not a reliable indicator of future returns.
- Not available to U.S. persons or to people in other restricted jurisdictions, so access is limited.
- The team, audit reports and fee schedule are not detailed on the homepage; users must check the documentation.
- The V3 migration means some legacy vaults sit on a previous interface, which may confuse existing users.
YieldFi fees
YieldFi does not publish a fee schedule on its homepage. Curators earn revenue for their services, which suggests performance or management charges are set at the vault level, but the amounts are not stated in the material reviewed.
Users should check each vault's page and the documentation for management fees, performance fees and redemption terms. Network gas costs on the chosen chain also apply.
Is YieldFi safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits for YieldFi, but the homepage does not name the auditors. YieldFi says each earn product has independently attested proof of reserves. Readers should open the documentation to confirm which audits and attestations cover the vault they plan to use.
Some strategies run through exchange sub-accounts and risk managers, so users face counterparty and operational risk in addition to smart-contract risk. The site warns that digital assets carry a substantial risk of loss, that rewards are not guaranteed, and that redemption timing depends on the risk manager. The homepage also refers to a prospectus approved by the FMA, which points to a regulated offering in some jurisdictions, but U.S. persons are excluded. No incidents are mentioned in the material reviewed.

Who YieldFi is for
YieldFi is aimed at DeFi users and institutions looking for managed yield, and at curators such as family offices, DAOs and treasuries that want to launch and distribute their own vaults. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs instant withdrawals, guaranteed returns or access from the United States.
YieldFi FAQs
What is YieldFi?
YieldFi is an onchain platform for issuing, distributing and monitoring tokenized yield vaults. Curators run the strategies, and depositors hold tokens that represent a share of a vault. It is listed as a yield aggregator.
How does YieldFi generate yield?
Vault tokens are priced by the protocol and the value reflects strategy performance. YieldFi says yield can come from DeFi deployments and trading sub-accounts on exchanges. Any APY shown is a short-term estimate rather than a promise.
How long do withdrawals take on YieldFi?
YieldFi states that standard redemptions are usually processed after two price updates, and only once the Strategy Risk Manager has set aside the funds. The redemption window in the interface is indicative, and there is no timing guarantee.
Is YieldFi available in the United States?
No. The site states that products are not for distribution to U.S. persons or anyone in the United States, and that tokens are not marketed in other prohibited jurisdictions. Check the documentation for the full list of restricted countries.
Which chains does YieldFi support?
DefiLlama lists YieldFi on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Plume, Sonic, BNB Chain, Optimism, Plasma, Katana, TAC, Avalanche, Linea and Saga. Which vaults are available on each chain varies.
Is YieldFi audited?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the homepage does not name the auditors or link reports. Proof of reserves is described as independently attested for every earn product. Read the audit reports in the documentation before depositing.
