Vaultedge Review 2026: 0% Interest USDVE Borrowing

Vaultedge is a small CDP-style borrowing protocol on Base and Plasma that lets users borrow the USDVE stablecoin at 0% interest, with a one-time fee, while their collateral keeps earning yield. It is early-stage and low in TVL, so treat it as a higher-risk experiment.

Our verdict on Vaultedge

5.8/10

Vaultedge suits experienced DeFi users who want to borrow a stablecoin against yield-bearing collateral without paying ongoing interest. Its main strength is that collateral keeps earning while it backs a 0% interest loan. The main caveat is size and age: with about $145K in TVL and a listing from late 2025, it has little track record, thin liquidity and a possible temporary rate in stressed markets. Only commit what you can afford to lose.

What is Vaultedge?

Vaultedge is a decentralized borrowing protocol that lets users borrow USDVE, its own USD-pegged stablecoin, against crypto collateral. Supported collateral includes blue-chip tokens, liquid staked assets and vault tokens. DefiLlama classifies it as a CDP protocol on Base and Plasma.

Its main pitch is capital efficiency. Loans carry 0% interest plus a one-time borrow fee, and deposited assets keep earning their usual rewards. The docs describe this as well suited to leveraging and self-repaying positions.

The protocol is young and small. DefiLlama lists it since November 2025 with roughly $145K in TVL, no token, and two audits listed. The documentation also mentions a Pareto Points and referral campaign. Treat it as an early-stage product with limited liquidity.

How Vaultedge works

Vaultedge works like other collateralized debt position (CDP) protocols. A user deposits a supported asset into a Vault and can then borrow USDVE, an over-collateralized stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. The value of the collateral must stay above the debt by a required margin, or the position can be liquidated.

The difference is that collateral keeps earning. Vaultedge says depositors continue to receive the rewards they would normally get from the asset, such as staking or vault yield, without managing the position actively. Loans carry 0% interest and a one-time borrow fee, which the docs say suits leveraging and self-repaying positions.

Borrowed USDVE can be used to buy more assets, hedge a position or provide liquidity for extra rewards. If utilization is high or markets are stressed, the protocol may apply a temporary borrowing rate to keep the system stable.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • 0% interest on loans with a one-time borrow fee, per the project's documentation
  • Collateral keeps earning its normal yield while deposited
  • Accepts a broad range of collateral, including liquid staked assets and vault tokens
  • Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
  • Public documentation covers vaults, USDVE and security
  • Runs on Base and Plasma, where transaction costs are generally low

Watch out for

  • TVL is small (about $145K per DefiLlama), so liquidity and market depth are limited
  • Listed only since November 2025, so the track record is short
  • The documentation says a temporary borrowing rate may apply in periods of high utilization or market stress, so 0% is not guaranteed
  • The one-time borrow fee amount is not given publicly reviewed
  • Several unrelated sites use the VaultEdge name, which raises the risk of confusion or impersonation
  • No native governance or protocol token is listed, and the audit details are not public reviewed

Vaultedge fees

Vaultedge states that borrowing carries 0% interest and a one-time borrow fee. The size of that fee is not given publicly reviewed, so it should be checked in the documentation or in the app before opening a position.

The docs also say a temporary borrowing rate may apply during periods of high utilization or market stress to maintain protocol stability. Network gas costs on Base or Plasma and any liquidation penalties are not detailed publicly reviewed.

Is Vaultedge safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits for Vaultedge, but the auditors, dates and findings are not public reviewed. The documentation includes an Info & Security section that readers should review. No hacks or incidents appear reviewed.

CDP protocols carry smart-contract risk, liquidation risk if collateral falls sharply, and stablecoin depeg risk for USDVE. A small TVL means thin liquidity, which can make liquidations and peg maintenance harder under stress. Because other unrelated businesses use the VaultEdge name, verify that you are on the official documentation and app before connecting a wallet. This is not financial advice.

6 steps

How to get started with Vaultedge

  1. 1

Read the Vaultedge documentation, especially the sections on Vaults, USDVE and Info & Security.

  2. 2

Confirm you are using the official documentation and app links, since other sites use similar names.

  3. 3

Connect a compatible wallet and make sure it holds a supported collateral asset on Base or Plasma.

  4. 4

Deposit collateral into a Vault and check the borrow fee, collateral ratio and liquidation threshold shown.

  5. 5

Borrow USDVE conservatively, leaving a wide buffer above the liquidation level.

  6. 6

Monitor the position and the borrow rate, and repay or add collateral if the market moves against you.

Who Vaultedge is for

Vaultedge is aimed at intermediate to advanced DeFi users who already hold yield-generating assets such as liquid staked tokens or vault tokens and want stablecoin liquidity without selling them. It is less suitable for beginners or anyone who cannot monitor a collateralized position.

Vaultedge FAQs

What is USDVE?

USDVE is Vaultedge's over-collateralized, USD-pegged stablecoin. Users mint it by borrowing against collateral deposited into a Vault. Because it is over-collateralized, each unit is backed by more collateral value than the amount borrowed.

Does Vaultedge charge interest on loans?

Vaultedge says loans carry 0% interest and a one-time borrow fee. The documentation also notes that a temporary borrowing rate may apply during high utilization or market stress. The exact fee percentage is not stated publicly reviewed, so check the docs and app before borrowing.

Which blockchains does Vaultedge run on?

DefiLlama lists Vaultedge on Base and Plasma. It is categorized as a CDP protocol.

Does my collateral still earn yield?

The docs say deposited assets continue to earn the rewards they would normally receive, without the user needing to manage the position actively. Supported collateral includes blue-chip tokens, liquid staked assets and vault tokens.

Is Vaultedge audited?

DefiLlama shows two audits listed for the protocol, but the auditors and findings are not public reviewed. Audits reduce risk but do not remove it, and smart-contract bugs remain possible, especially in a young protocol.

Is Vaultedge the same as other VaultEdge websites?

Not necessarily. Other sites use the VaultEdge name, including trading, investment and banking platforms, and nothing links them to this protocol. The documentation site listed as official is the one tied to the DeFi borrowing protocol, and users should verify links carefully.
