Unicly Review 2026: NFT Fractionalization on Ethereum
Unicly is an Ethereum protocol for fractionalizing NFT collections into tradable uTokens, with a Sushiswap-fork AMM for trading. It is small by TVL and its current activity could not be confirmed from the homepage.

Our verdict on Unicly
5.3/10Unicly suits experienced Ethereum users who want exposure to NFT collections through fungible uTokens and are comfortable with smart-contract and liquidity risk. Its strength is a clear, permissionless mechanism for fractionalizing and trading NFTs on an AMM. The main caveat is its small TVL of about $480,000 and the fact that the homepage could not be checked, so liquidity, current activity and fees need confirming before you put money in.

What is Unicly?
Unicly is a permissionless protocol to combine, fractionalize and trade NFTs. Users can turn a collection of NFTs into ERC20 tokens called uTokens, then trade them on a Sushiswap-fork AMM with liquidity incentives from liquidity mining. DefiLlama lists it under DEXs on Ethereum.
The protocol has its own token, UNIC. DefiLlama shows about $480,000 in TVL, up 3.3% over seven days, and lists two audits. Public reporting also point to a V2 launch and airdrop announcement and describe Unicly as community-governed.
The homepage could not be fetched for this review, so the current state of the product, its interface and any recent changes are not confirmed. Treat public information here as a research snapshot rather than a verified view of the live site.
How Unicly works
Fractionalization splits ownership of NFTs into many interchangeable pieces. On Unicly, a user combines NFTs from a collection and receives ERC20 tokens, called uTokens, that represent the pooled collection. Because the tokens are fungible, they can be traded in small amounts instead of one NFT at a time.
Trading is handled by an automated market maker that DefiLlama describes as a Sushiswap fork. Liquidity providers deposit uTokens and a paired asset into a pool, and traders swap against that pool at prices set by a formula. Providers earn trading fees and, per the description, liquidity-mining incentives paid in UNIC.
The main risk is that the uToken price depends on the value of the underlying NFTs and on how deep the pool is. In a thin pool, even small trades can move the price noticeably.
5 features
Key features
01
NFT fractionalization
Anyone can combine NFTs from a collection and issue ERC20 uTokens against them, according to the protocol description.
02
uTokens as ERC20
Each fractionalized collection is represented by a fungible token, which can be held, traded or used in liquidity pools.
03
Sushiswap-fork AMM
Trading happens on an AMM that DefiLlama describes as a Sushiswap fork, using pooled liquidity instead of an order book.
04
Liquidity mining incentives
Liquidity providers can earn incentives through liquidity mining, with rewards tied to the UNIC token.
05
Permissionless and community-governed
The protocol is described as permissionless and community-governed, so collections can be fractionalized without a central approver.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Clear, specific purpose: turns NFT collections into tradable ERC20 uTokens
- Lets users trade fractions of NFTs instead of whole, often expensive, items
- Permissionless design, with no central approver for collections
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
- Has a dedicated token, UNIC, for liquidity-mining incentives
Watch out for
- TVL of about $480,000 is small, so uToken markets are likely to be thin and prone to slippage
- The homepage could not be fetched, so current site status and product details could not be confirmed
- Only two audits are listed and their scope and findings are not public
- Ethereum-only, so gas costs apply to every fractionalization, swap and liquidity action
- Fractionalized NFT tokens carry price risk from both the underlying NFTs and the pool's liquidity
- Rewards depend on the UNIC token, whose value and emissions are not detailed publicly
Unicly fees
Unicly's fees are not published. Public sources describe a Sushiswap-fork AMM, which usually charges a swap fee that goes to liquidity providers, but the exact rate for Unicly is not confirmed here.
On Ethereum, every transaction also costs gas, which can be large relative to a small NFT-fraction trade. Users would see the swap fee, price impact and estimated gas in their wallet and the swap interface before confirming.
Is Unicly safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits for Unicly, but the project does not name the auditors or summarize findings. No hacks or incidents are mentioned publicly, but that is not proof none occurred. Smart-contract risk applies to the fractionalization contracts and the AMM, which is a fork of existing code.
Users hold their own assets in their wallets and interact through smart contracts, so there is no exchange custody to rely on. NFTs locked into a fractionalization contract depend on that contract's code working as intended. Nothing covers regulatory status. Verify the official site and contract addresses before connecting a wallet, since the homepage could not be checked here.
6 steps
How to get started with Unicly
- 1
Confirm the current official Unicly site and contract addresses through the project's verified social channels, since the homepage could not be checked here.
- 2
Set up an Ethereum wallet such as MetaMask and fund it with ETH for gas.
- 3
Read the audit reports and any documentation on how uTokens are created and redeemed.
- 4
Look up the uToken you are interested in and check the pool's liquidity and price impact.
- 5
Start with a small swap to see real costs before committing more.
- 6
If you provide liquidity, understand impermanent loss and how UNIC rewards are paid before depositing.
Who Unicly is for
Unicly is for crypto users already comfortable with Ethereum wallets, NFTs and AMM pools who want to trade or provide liquidity for fractionalized NFT collections. It is not a good fit for beginners or for anyone who needs deep liquidity or a confirmed, actively maintained product.
Unicly FAQs
What is Unicly?
Unicly is a permissionless protocol to combine, fractionalize and trade NFTs. Users turn NFT collections into ERC20 tokens called uTokens and trade them on an automated market maker.
What is the UNIC token used for?
UNIC is Unicly's own token, listed by DefiLlama. Per the protocol description, liquidity mining incentives are paid to users who supply liquidity to the trading pools. Check current token terms before relying on any reward.
Which blockchain does Unicly run on?
DefiLlama lists Ethereum as the only chain for Unicly. You need an Ethereum-compatible wallet and ETH for gas to interact with it.
Is Unicly safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not say who performed them or what they found. Audits reduce risk but do not remove it, and a small, older protocol still carries smart-contract risk. Read the audit reports yourself before depositing.
Is there a Unicly V2?
Public reporting mentions a Unicly V2 launch with an airdrop announcement. The project does not give details, so check official Unicly channels for the current status and eligibility.
What does Unicly cost to use?
Fees are not published publicly. Expect Ethereum network gas plus any swap fee set by the AMM, which you would see in the swap interface before confirming.
