TurtleSwap Review 2026: A Small AMM DEX on VeChain

TurtleSwap is a small automated market maker exchange on VeChain, run by Turtle Labs, for swapping tokens and providing liquidity. Its liquidity is very thin and no audits are listed, so it suits only small, experimental positions.

Our verdict on TurtleSwap

4.2/10

TurtleSwap is a small VeChain exchange from Turtle Labs with standard AMM swaps and liquidity pools. Its main strength is simplicity and a native fit for VeChain holders who want a local DEX. The main caveat is risk: liquidity is only around $2,100, no audits are listed, and fees and team details are not published. It suits experienced users who want to experiment with small amounts, not anyone who needs deep liquidity or audited contracts.

What is TurtleSwap?

TurtleSwap is a decentralized exchange on VeChain operated by Turtle Labs. It offers token swaps and liquidity provisioning with what the project calls a streamlined interface and straightforward AMM primitives.

It appears to be one part of a wider Turtle Labs product line aimed at VeChain users. Turtle Labs social accounts describe swaps, staking, token sales, airdrops and launchpad-style tools under one roof.

The protocol has been tracked since August 2025 and holds only about $2,100 in total value locked, down roughly 6% over the past week. Do not confuse it with a similarly named token that some price pages list on Solana, which is a different thing from this VeChain exchange.

How TurtleSwap works

TurtleSwap is an automated market maker. Rather than matching buyers and sellers through an order book, it holds pairs of tokens in smart contract pools. A swap trades against a pool, and the price moves according to a formula based on the pool balances.

Liquidity providers deposit both tokens of a pair into a pool and typically earn a share of the trading fees. The risk is impermanent loss, where the value of their deposit can lag behind simply holding the tokens if prices move apart.

Because the pools here are small, a modest trade can shift the price noticeably. That makes slippage settings and trade size important for anyone using it.

5 features

Key features

01

Token swaps

Users can exchange supported VeChain tokens through liquidity pools using AMM pricing.

02

Liquidity provision

Users can deposit token pairs into pools to supply liquidity, which is the core function of an AMM exchange.

03

Simple AMM design

The project describes its interface as streamlined, built on plain AMM primitives rather than complex order types.

04

Wider Turtle Labs toolkit

Turtle Labs social posts mention staking, token sales and airdrops alongside the swap in its all-in-one DeFi pitch.

05

VeChain native

The exchange is built for VeChain, which suits holders who already use that network.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Focused on VeChain, a network with relatively few DEX options
  • Simple AMM design that is easy to understand
  • Part of a broader Turtle Labs toolkit including staking and token sales
  • Non-custodial: users trade from their own wallet rather than depositing with a company

Watch out for

  • Very low total value locked, around $2,100, so liquidity is thin and larger trades can move prices sharply
  • No security audits are listed for the protocol
  • TVL has been falling, down about 6% over the past week
  • The team behind Turtle Labs and the contract details are not described in any source reviewed
  • No fee schedule is published in the sources reviewed
  • Limited to VeChain, so users need a VeChain wallet and VeChain-side tokens

TurtleSwap fees

TurtleSwap's swap fee, liquidity provider share and any protocol cut are not published in the sources reviewed. Most AMM exchanges charge a small percentage on each swap that goes mostly to liquidity providers, but the exact rate here is not confirmed.

Users would see the fee and expected price impact in the swap interface before signing a transaction. Network fees on VeChain are paid on top, and with pools this small, price impact is likely to be the larger cost.

Is TurtleSwap safe?

No audits are listed for TurtleSwap, and the sources reviewed do not describe the team, contract ownership, upgrade controls or any bug bounty. Smart contract risk is therefore unquantified, and users should assume funds in the pools could be lost to a bug or exploit.

The tiny pool sizes add a market risk: thin liquidity can mean heavy slippage and easy price manipulation. The exchange is non-custodial, so users keep control of their keys, but that also means mistakes are not reversible. Regulatory status is not described.

6 steps

How to get started with TurtleSwap

  1. 1

Confirm you are on the VeChain-based TurtleSwap from Turtle Labs, not the unrelated Solana token of a similar name.

  2. 2

Set up a VeChain-compatible wallet and keep the official wallet app and seed phrase secure.

  3. 3

Fund the wallet with the VeChain tokens you want to swap, plus enough for network costs.

  4. 4

Connect the wallet to the exchange and review the swap fee, price impact and slippage before approving.

  5. 5

Start with a very small test trade, since liquidity is thin and no audits are listed.

  6. 6

If you add liquidity, understand impermanent loss and check how deep the pool is first.

Who TurtleSwap is for

TurtleSwap suits VeChain users who are comfortable with DeFi risk and want to try a small local exchange or support Turtle Labs projects. It is a poor fit for large trades, newcomers who need audited protocols, or anyone who needs deep liquidity and tight pricing.

TurtleSwap FAQs

What is TurtleSwap?

TurtleSwap is a decentralized exchange on VeChain operated by Turtle Labs. It lets users swap tokens and supply liquidity using standard automated market maker mechanics.

Which blockchain does TurtleSwap use?

It runs on VeChain. Other sites show a token called TurtleSwap on Solana, but that does not match the VeChain exchange operated by Turtle Labs, so check you are using the right project.

Has TurtleSwap been audited?

Not as far as the sources reviewed show. TrackerS list no audits for the protocol, and the team has not published audit reports there. Treat it as unaudited and risk only what you can afford to lose.

How much liquidity does TurtleSwap have?

Total value locked is roughly $2,100, which is very small. Small pools mean high price impact on trades and a weak cushion for liquidity providers.

Does TurtleSwap have its own token?

Turtle Labs social posts describe a wider set of tools around the swap, including staking, token sales and airdrops. Tracking sites list no native token for the DEX itself, and the Turtle Labs account references a separate token, SQUAD.

What are the fees on TurtleSwap?

The fee levels are not published in the sources reviewed. Users would see the swap fee and price impact in the swap interface before confirming a trade, plus normal VeChain network costs.
