ThalaSwap V3 Review 2026: Aptos CLMM DEX by Thala Labs

Our verdict on ThalaSwap V3

6.8/10

ThalaSwap V3 suits Aptos users who already use Thala's products or want concentrated-liquidity pools on that chain. Its strength is the surrounding suite: swaps, liquid staking, CDP borrowing and a launchpad, with named audit firms, oracles and bridge partners. The main caveat is size: V3 holds only about $494K in TVL, which fell sharply in a week, so large trades may face slippage. Fee tiers are not published on the homepage, and V3-specific audit coverage is unclear. Start small and read the audit reports first.

What is ThalaSwap V3?

ThalaSwap V3 is a decentralized exchange on the Aptos blockchain that uses a concentrated-liquidity design. It comes from Thala Labs, which describes itself as a protocol that brings trading and yield products together, with the aim of composable leverage.

The broader Thala site covers three areas: trade (spot and a launchpad), earn (liquidity pools and liquid staking) and borrow (a CDP module and stability pool). The homepage reports about $16.1 million in total value locked across the platform, around $12.4 billion in cumulative volume and 652,340 total users. These are project-reported figures for the whole platform, not for V3 alone.

The V3 listing itself is much smaller, at roughly $494K TVL, down about 48% over seven days, and it has been tracked since September 2025. That suggests V3 liquidity is still thin compared with the platform as a whole.

How ThalaSwap V3 works

ThalaSwap V3 is a concentrated-liquidity market maker. In a standard AMM, liquidity is spread across all possible prices. In a CLMM, liquidity providers choose a price range and deposit assets only for that range, so trades near the current price get deeper liquidity from the same capital.

Traders swap against these pools directly from their wallet, with no account or order book. Prices move along a curve as trades shift the balance of assets in the active range. Liquidity providers earn a share of trading fees while the price stays within their range, and they earn nothing on the portion that falls outside it.

The pools run as smart contracts written in Move, the language used on Aptos. Prices for other Thala modules such as the CDP rely on oracles like Switchboard and Pyth, according to the homepage.

7 features

Key features

01

Concentrated liquidity pools

Liquidity providers choose a price range for their capital instead of spreading it across all prices, which can make capital work harder when the price stays in range.

02

Spot trading and launchpad

Spot trading of assets on Aptos, plus access to new token launches via the Thala spot launchpad.

03

Earn products

The wider Thala suite offers liquidity pools and liquid staking so users can earn yield on holdings.

04

Borrowing and CDP

Thala runs a CDP module for borrowing against collateral and a stability pool, according to its homepage.

05

Bridge integrations

The homepage lists LayerZero and Wormhole as bridge partners for moving assets to Aptos.

06

Oracles and wallets

Switchboard and Pyth are listed as oracle partners, and wallets such as Petra, Pontem and MSafe are listed as supported.

07

Thala Foundry incubator

Thala Foundry is an incubator run in partnership with the Aptos foundation to support builders on the network.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Concentrated liquidity can give deeper pricing near the current price for the capital deployed.
  • Part of a full Aptos suite covering swaps, liquid staking, CDP borrowing and a launchpad.
  • Homepage names Zellic and OtterSec as auditors and links to an audit page.
  • Uses established oracle and bridge providers, including Pyth, Switchboard, LayerZero and Wormhole.
  • Non-custodial: users trade from their own wallet, with support for several Aptos wallets.

Watch out for

  • TVL for this V3 pool set is very small (about $494K) and fell roughly 48% in a week, which points to thin liquidity and possible slippage on larger trades.
  • Runs only on Aptos, so users need Aptos-compatible wallets and assets and cannot trade on other chains directly.
  • The listing shows no audits for ThalaSwap V3 itself; the homepage names Zellic and OtterSec as auditors, but which audits cover V3 is not stated.
  • Concentrated liquidity needs active range management, which is harder for beginners and carries impermanent loss.
  • Fee tiers and any protocol fee are not published on the homepage.
  • Thala's earlier incident history is not described in the sources, and a third-party scam checker gives the Thala token a poor rating, so readers should do their own checks.

ThalaSwap V3 fees

Thala does not publish a ThalaSwap V3 fee schedule on its homepage. As with most CLMM DEXs, each pool is likely to have its own fee tier, and the app shows this before you swap or add liquidity.

Beyond the pool fee, users pay Aptos network gas and may face price impact on larger trades given the small pool liquidity. Bridge fees apply if you move assets in from another chain.

Is ThalaSwap V3 safe?

The Thala homepage lists Zellic and OtterSec as auditors and links to an audit page, while the V3 listing itself shows no audits. Readers should check the audit reports to see which contracts and versions were covered, and when. Audits reduce risk but do not remove it.

The exchange is non-custodial, so users keep control of their keys, but they carry smart-contract risk, oracle risk on connected modules and bridge risk when moving assets in. Liquidity providers also face impermanent loss. One third-party checker rates the Thala token poorly; treat that as a prompt for your own research rather than a verdict. Thala does not publish a licence or regulatory status on its homepage. Check the rules for DeFi where you live.

6 steps

How to get started with ThalaSwap V3

  1. 1

Install an Aptos wallet such as Petra and secure the recovery phrase offline.

  2. 2

Get APT or another supported Aptos asset, bridging from another chain through a route such as LayerZero or Wormhole if needed.

  3. 3

Open the Thala app from the official site and connect your wallet.

  4. 4

Choose a trading pair and check the pool fee, price impact and slippage before confirming a swap.

  5. 5

If providing liquidity, pick a price range and start with a small amount to understand impermanent loss.

  6. 6

Review the audit page and documentation to see what has been reviewed.

Who ThalaSwap V3 is for

ThalaSwap V3 is for Aptos users comfortable with self-custody wallets who want to swap tokens or provide concentrated liquidity, and for those already using Thala's staking or CDP products. It is less suited to complete beginners, who may find range management and impermanent loss hard to handle, and to traders moving large sums.
