Our verdict on StarkDeFI

5.2/10

StarkDeFI suits Starknet users who want a simple swap venue and are curious about a hub that may add a launchpad, farms and staking. Its strength is a clear beginner focus with documentation for wallets and bridging. The main caveat is scale: TVL is under $70,000, most of the product suite is still coming soon, and fee and audit details are not shown on the homepage. Treat it as an early-stage venue and size trades carefully.

What is StarkDeFI?

StarkDeFI is a decentralized exchange on Starknet that presents itself as a DeFi solutions hub for people moving from beginner to more advanced use. The homepage frames the journey as start, grow and scale, with swaps as the entry point.

The live product is a token swap. A launchpad called StarkPad, farms, a mint tool, a staking pool, a liquidity locker and synergy pools are all labelled coming soon. The project has been tracked in DeFi data since December 2023 and shows a TVL of about $68,658, with a 0.8% change over seven days.

The homepage also promotes a campaign called ReGenesis, where users compete for Origin, Nano, Quantum and Reactor cores. The mechanics and rewards are not explained in its homepage. The documentation covers wallets on Starknet, bridging ETH, a lightpaper and a roadmap.

How StarkDeFI works

StarkDeFI is a decentralized exchange, or DEX. Instead of an order book run by a company, trades are executed by smart contracts against pools of tokens that liquidity providers deposit. When you swap one token for another, the pool's balances shift and the price moves based on a formula.

It runs on Starknet, a layer-2 network that bundles transactions and settles them on Ethereum with validity proofs. This is meant to keep fees lower than on Ethereum mainnet while keeping Ethereum's security backing.

The project describes itself as a hub of DeFi products rather than only a swap. Farms, staking, a liquidity locker, a mint tool and a launchpad are listed as coming soon, so today the swap is the main working product.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Live swap product on Starknet, an Ethereum layer-2 with generally lower fees than mainnet
  • Documentation includes beginner guides for wallets and bridging
  • Two audits are listed in DeFi tracking data
  • Broader roadmap covers a launchpad, farms, staking and a liquidity locker
  • No token requirement to use the swap, as no token is listed

Watch out for

  • TVL is very small at about $68,658, which usually means thin liquidity and larger price impact on swaps
  • Most of the planned products (farms, mint, staking pool, liquidity locker, synergy pools, launchpad) are marked coming soon
  • No token is listed in the DeFi data, so there is no governance or incentive token to evaluate
  • Homepage claims such as lowest fees and unparalleled security are not backed by published fee tables or audit details on the page
  • Team and company details are not shown in its homepage, and the audit reports are not named
  • Only one chain is supported, so it is no help for trading outside Starknet

StarkDeFI fees

StarkDeFI's homepage says users can trade at the lowest fees on Starknet's DEX, but the page text does not publish a swap fee percentage or a fee split for liquidity providers. These details would normally be visible in the swap interface and the documentation.

Users also pay Starknet network fees on each transaction. The amount depends on network conditions and is not set by the project.

Is StarkDeFI safe?

The DeFi data lists two audits for StarkDeFI, but its homepage does not name the auditors or show the reports. Smart-contract risk remains for any DEX, particularly one with a small TVL and a short operating history. Users keep custody of funds in their own wallets, but funds deposited into pools are exposed to contract bugs and impermanent loss.

The homepage describes unparalleled security and privacy, which is marketing language and not a verifiable claim. The company's licensing or regulatory status is not published in its homepage. Terms of Use and a Privacy Policy are linked. No hacks or incidents appear.

6 steps

How to get started with StarkDeFI

  1. 1

Set up a Starknet-compatible wallet by following the wallet guide in the project's documentation.

  2. 2

Bridge ETH or other supported assets to Starknet, using the documentation's guide to getting Ethereum onto Starknet.

  3. 3

Open the app from the homepage and connect the wallet.

  4. 4

Pick the two tokens to swap and check the quoted price, fee and price impact, which matter more on a small pool.

  5. 5

Confirm the transaction in the wallet and keep some ETH or the required gas token for network fees.

  6. 6

Start with a small amount and read the audit and documentation pages before adding larger funds.

Who StarkDeFI is for

StarkDeFI is for Starknet users who want to swap tokens on a smaller DEX and newcomers who prefer a guided entry to DeFi. It is less suited to traders who need deep liquidity or to users looking for an established yield platform, since most of the yield tools are not yet live.

StarkDeFI FAQs

What is StarkDeFI?

StarkDeFI is a DeFi hub built on Starknet, an Ethereum layer-2 network. Its main live product is a token swap (a decentralized exchange), with a launchpad, farms, staking and other tools listed as coming soon.

Which blockchain does StarkDeFI use?

It runs on Starknet. Users need a Starknet-compatible wallet and funds bridged to that network to trade. The project's documentation includes guides on wallets on Starknet and getting Ethereum onto Starknet.

Does StarkDeFI have a token?

No. DeFi tracking data lists no token for the project. Some older documentation mentions an SDC token in connection with prediction markets, but that is not confirmed as a current token on the homepage.

What are the fees on StarkDeFI?

The homepage says it offers the lowest fees on Starknet's DEX, but it does not publish a fee schedule in the page text. Users should check the swap interface for the fee and price impact before confirming a trade, and expect Starknet network fees as well.

Is StarkDeFI safe?

The DeFi data lists two audits for the project, but its homepage does not name the auditors or link the reports. As with any DEX, smart-contract risk remains, and a small TVL does not reduce it. Readers should look for the reports in the project's documentation before depositing funds.

What other products does StarkDeFI plan?

The homepage lists a launchpad called StarkPad, farms, mint, a staking pool, a liquidity locker and synergy pools, all marked coming soon. It also promotes a ReGenesis campaign about competing for cores. The details of that campaign are not explained in its homepage.
