Our verdict on Nightly Wallet

7.0/10

Nightly suits users who move between Solana, NEAR, Sui, Aptos and EVM networks and want one noncustodial wallet on both phone and browser. Its strengths are broad chain coverage and hardware wallet support through Ledger and Keystone. The main caveat is that audit reports, fee details and team information are not published in the sources reviewed, so cautious users should verify security details and start with small balances.

What is Nightly Wallet?

Nightly is a multichain crypto wallet that began on NEAR and Solana and now lists support for Solana, EVM networks, Sui, Aptos, Movement, IOTA and others. It runs as a mobile app and a browser extension, and lets users send, swap and store tokens and NFTs.

A third-party write-up credits Norbert Bodziony, a Polish university student who previously led Synthetify, as the founder, and says the NEAR Foundation backed the early launch. This is a single-source claim, and the project's own pages could not be reviewed here.

Store listings highlight Ledger and Keystone support, auto-approval for dApp transactions, and a Safari extension on iPhone. One listing review also refers to a 2.0 redesign that users described as easier to use.

The project does not publish audit reports, fee tables or team details in the material reviewed, so users should confirm security information with the project directly before storing large balances.

How Nightly Wallet works

Nightly is a noncustodial wallet. When you create an account, the app generates keys on your device and protects them with encryption on the client side. Whoever holds the recovery phrase controls the funds, so the project cannot reverse transactions or restore access if the phrase is lost.

A third-party write-up says the wallet keeps direct connections to blockchain networks instead of routing through intermediaries. For the user, this means one app can show balances and NFTs from several chains, and can sign transactions for each of them.

When you visit a dApp, the site asks the wallet to connect and to sign transactions. Nightly shows the request and you approve or reject it. An optional auto-approve setting can skip repeated prompts, and hardware devices such as Ledger or Keystone can hold the keys instead.

6 features

Key features

01

Multichain support

One wallet covers Solana, EVM networks, Sui, Aptos, Movement, NEAR and IOTA, so users avoid separate apps for each ecosystem.

02

Mobile and extension

The wallet is offered as an iOS and Android app and as a browser extension, including a Safari extension on Apple devices.

03

Send, swap, NFTs

Users can send and swap tokens and view NFTs across supported networks from one place.

04

Hardware wallet support

Store listings mention Ledger and Keystone support, letting users sign with keys held off the phone.

05

Auto-approve for dApps

An optional setting lets users auto-approve transactions for faster use of dApps, which trades some safety for speed.

06

Noncustodial design

A third-party write-up describes private keys staying with the user and being protected by client-side encryption.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Covers many ecosystems in one wallet, including Solana, EVM, Sui, Aptos, Movement, NEAR and IOTA
  • Noncustodial, so users keep their own private keys
  • Available on iOS, Android and as a browser extension
  • Supports Ledger and Keystone hardware devices
  • Optional auto-approve can speed up frequent dApp use

Watch out for

  • Audit reports, bug bounty details and security track record are not published in the sources reviewed
  • Fees for swaps and network use are not stated, so users must check quotes in the app
  • Supporting many chains means a wide attack surface, including dApp connections and auto-approve settings
  • Founder and team details come from a single third-party write-up and are not independently confirmed
  • Its early story centred on NEAR and Solana, and support for newer chains may vary in depth

Nightly Wallet fees

Nightly does not publish a fee schedule in the sources reviewed. Sending tokens requires the network fee of the chain being used, which is set by that blockchain and not by the wallet.

Swap pricing, any wallet-added charges and routing details would be shown in the app at the time of a swap. Users should read the quote before confirming.

Is Nightly Wallet safe?

Nightly is described as noncustodial with client-side encryption, which removes exchange-style counterparty risk but puts full responsibility on the user. Losing the recovery phrase means losing the funds, and sharing it with anyone, including fake support staff, can drain a wallet.

The sources reviewed do not publish audit reports, a bug bounty or any incident history, and no licence or regulatory status is stated. Software wallets also carry risk from malicious dApps and phishing, so users should check permission requests, keep auto-approve off unless needed, and consider a hardware device for larger balances. Only download from the official store listings.

6 steps

How to get started with Nightly Wallet

  1. 1

Install Nightly from the official App Store or Google Play listing, or add the browser extension from your browser's store, checking the publisher name first.

  2. 2

Create a new wallet and write down the recovery phrase offline. Never share it or store it in screenshots or cloud notes.

  3. 3

Set a strong password and, if you own a Ledger or Keystone device, consider connecting it for signing.

  4. 4

Add a small amount of a supported token such as SOL, NEAR, SUI or APT to test sending and receiving.

  5. 5

Connect to a dApp and review each permission request. Keep auto-approve off until you understand the risk.

  6. 6

Try a small swap, check the quote and network fee, and then scale up gradually.

Who Nightly Wallet is for

Nightly is for crypto users who hold assets on several chains, especially Solana, NEAR, Sui and Aptos, and want one app for sending, swapping and viewing NFTs. It also suits people who want to pair a wallet with a Ledger or Keystone device. Beginners should learn recovery phrase handling first, because the wallet is self-custodial.
