Our verdict on FilFi

FilFi was a Filecoin-focused DeFi protocol offering staking pools, lending, joint mining and hashrate trading, but it is no longer operating. Its homepage says all nodes have expired and services closed on 16 March 2026. The only reason to engage now is to recover funds, and the team says it will process withdrawals manually until 15 March 2027. Existing users should act before the deadline and use only the official channels. New users have nothing to sign up for.

What is FilFi?

FilFi was a DeFi protocol built around Filecoin. DefiLlama describes it as creating liquidity for Filecoin assets, with services including a staking pool, lending, Joint Mining, hashrate trading and FID funds. It has been listed since June 2023 and ran only on Filecoin.

The project is no longer active. A notice on the homepage, dated 16 March 2026, says that because all nodes have expired, the site has formally stopped operating and closed all services. The team says it is providing a year of after-service support, ending on 15 March 2027, for users who have not yet withdrawn.

The last TVL reading on DefiLlama was about $141,682, down 2.1% over seven days. The protocol has no token listed, and DefiLlama shows two audits. This page is a research profile for people who may still hold a position or want to understand what FilFi was.

How FilFi works

FilFi worked as a liquidity layer for Filecoin. Filecoin is a network where storage providers run nodes and earn rewards, and running those nodes needs a lot of upfront capital. FilFi aimed to give that capital a route in through pooled products.

Users could join staking pools, take part in Joint Mining, where several participants fund a node together, or trade hashrate. Lending and FID funds were also part of the stated product set. The project does not give contract-level detail on how rewards were split.

The shutdown notice ties the closure to node expiry: all nodes have expired, so the products backed by them have ended. What remains is a manual process in which the team checks each withdrawal request against the details a user submits.

A pooled product that let users take part in Filecoin staking, as listed by DefiLlama under the Staking Pool category.

02

The project listed hashrate trading as one of its services, aimed at Filecoin storage capacity.

05

FID funds

The description mentions FID funds as part of its product set. The project does not explain how they worked.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Operated on Filecoin, addressing capital needs for node operators
  • Offered several products in one protocol: staking, lending, joint mining and hashrate trading
  • Two audits listed on DefiLlama
  • The team announced the closure openly and set a withdrawal window until 15 March 2027
  • No native token, so no token price exposure

Watch out for

  • The website stopped operating on 16 March 2026 and all services are closed
  • Withdrawals depend on manual requests through email or Telegram, with a deadline of 15 March 2027
  • Users must supply account information, a wallet address and a node number, and the team verifies each case individually
  • TVL was only about $141,682 at last check, which is small for a protocol of this scope
  • No token, and public sources give no detail on how the audits listed were scoped
  • No published fee information

FilFi fees

Fees are not published. Its homepage now contains only the shutdown and withdrawal notice. No fee schedule is shown for staking, lending, joint mining or hashrate trading.

The project does not say whether the after-service withdrawal process carries any cost. Users should confirm this directly with the official channels named on the site before sending anything.

Is FilFi safe?

FilFi is closed, so the main risk now is recovering funds rather than using the product. Withdrawals run through a manual process: users send account information, a wallet address and a node number by email or Telegram, and the team verifies each request. That means you depend on the team staying responsive until the 15 March 2027 deadline.

DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not say who audited the code or what was covered. No incidents or hacks are mentioned publicly. Be careful with impersonators: use only the official contact details on the site, and never share private keys or seed phrases.

  4. 4

Contact the team only through the official email or the official Telegram account named on the site.

  5. 5

Submit your request before the 15 March 2027 deadline and keep a record of what you sent.

  6. 6

Never share seed phrases or private keys, and ignore anyone who contacts you first offering help.

Who FilFi is for

This page is for people who used FilFi and still need to withdraw, and for researchers tracking Filecoin DeFi projects. It is not for anyone looking for an active staking or lending product, since the service has closed.
