ActiveBunnySwap Review 2026: friend.tech's Native Base DEX
BunnySwap is the decentralized exchange built into friend.tech on Base. It launched in May 2024 and drew large early liquidity, but its TVL is now small, so treat it as a niche venue.

Weak
Our verdict on BunnySwap
4.5/10BunnySwap suits users already active in friend.tech who want to swap its tokens or provide liquidity inside the app. Its main strength is the tight integration with that ecosystem on Base. The main caveat is the collapse in liquidity from its early peak, with no listed audits and a fate tied to one social app. Treat it as a small, high-risk venue, trade modest sizes and watch price impact.

What is BunnySwap?
BunnySwap is the decentralized exchange built into friend.tech, the social app on the Base network. It launched in early May 2024 alongside friend.tech's version two plans, and it was described as the home for the POINT token.
Liquidity arrived fast. One report says TVL reached about $53 million after launch, then fell to roughly $10.6 million as friend.tech wavered over leaving Base and later reversed that decision. TVL is now about $86,000, up about 2.6% over the past week.
The exchange has no token of its own and no listed audits. It is best viewed as a small, app-specific venue rather than a general-purpose DEX.
How BunnySwap works
BunnySwap is an automated market maker. Instead of an order book, users deposit pairs of tokens into liquidity pools, and traders swap against those pools at prices set by the ratio of the tokens inside.
Liquidity providers earn a share of trading fees in return for supplying tokens. Their risk is impermanent loss, which occurs when the relative price of the pooled tokens moves after the deposit.
BunnySwap lives inside friend.tech, a social app on Base, and its liquidity is tied to friend.tech's tokens such as POINT and FRIEND. Reports from July 2024 say protocol fees were switched off, with fees directed to traders, liquidity providers and Club presidents.
5 features
Key features
01
Built into friend.tech
BunnySwap is the native exchange inside friend.tech, reached through the LP tab, so users can swap without leaving the app.
02
Runs on Base
The exchange is deployed on Base, so trades settle on that network and use its gas costs.
03
Liquidity provision
Users can supply tokens to pools, such as a FRIEND/WETH pair, and take a share of the trading fees.
04
POINT token venue
Reports say the POINT token from friend.tech's version two launch would trade mainly on BunnySwap.
05
Protocol fees disabled
Protocol fees were switched off in July 2024, with fees going to traders, liquidity providers and Club presidents according to reports.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Built directly into the friend.tech app, so users of that ecosystem can swap in one place.
- Runs on Base, where transaction costs are generally low.
- Reportedly the main venue for the POINT token and a market for FRIEND.
- Protocol fees were reportedly turned off in 2024, with fees going to traders, liquidity providers and Club presidents.
- No separate token to buy, so there is no extra token risk from BunnySwap itself.
Watch out for
- Liquidity has fallen sharply: one report puts TVL at about $53 million after launch and $10.6 million weeks later, and it now sits below $100,000.
- Thin pools mean larger trades can move prices heavily and cause high slippage.
- It is closely tied to a single social app, so its fate depends on friend.tech's activity and decisions.
- No audits are listed, and the team does not publish a security review.
- The project does not publish a standalone fee schedule, so swap costs are hard to compare ahead of time.
- Liquidity providers face impermanent loss, and small pools make that risk worse.
BunnySwap fees
The project does not publish a swap fee schedule on its homepage, so users should check the fee and price impact shown in the app before confirming a trade. As on any DEX, you also pay Base network gas.
In July 2024 the friend.tech team said it had turned off protocol fees on BunnySwap, Clubs and the v1 contracts. Reports say fees went to traders, liquidity providers and Club presidents rather than the protocol.
Is BunnySwap safe?
No audits are listed for BunnySwap, and the project does not publish a security review on its homepage. As a smart-contract-based DEX, it carries contract risk, and liquidity providers face impermanent loss. Trades are made from your own wallet, so you keep custody until you swap.
The project's history also adds risk. The friend.tech team shifted its plans on leaving Base in July 2024, and the price of FRIEND fell sharply. Such moves can drain liquidity quickly. Licensing and regulatory status are not stated. Check the rules where you live before trading.
6 steps
How to get started with BunnySwap
- 1
Install a wallet that supports Base and fund it with a small amount of ETH for gas.
- 2
Open the friend.tech app and check that you are on the official site.
- 3
Connect your wallet using the Connect button.
- 4
Open the LP section to find the swap or liquidity pools.
- 5
Review the pool, expected price impact and fees before approving anything.
- 6
Start with a small test trade, and check the slippage setting.
Who BunnySwap is for
BunnySwap is for existing friend.tech users and experienced DeFi traders who want to trade POINT or FRIEND, or who want to supply liquidity to a small pool and accept the risk. It is not a good fit for large trades or for beginners seeking deep liquidity.
BunnySwap FAQs
What is BunnySwap?
BunnySwap is a decentralized exchange built for friend.tech and deployed on the Base network. It lets users swap tokens and provide liquidity, and it is reached through the LP section of the friend.tech app.
What tokens trade on BunnySwap?
Reports from May 2024 say the POINT token tied to friend.tech's version two launch would seemingly trade only on BunnySwap. The FRIEND token has also been quoted in a FRIEND/WETH pool on it.
Does BunnySwap have its own token?
No. DefiLlama lists no token for BunnySwap itself, and the project has no ticker of its own. The tokens linked to it, such as POINT and FRIEND, belong to the wider friend.tech ecosystem.
Does BunnySwap charge fees?
In July 2024 the friend.tech team said it had turned off protocol fees on BunnySwap, Clubs and the v1 contracts. According to the reports, fees then went to traders, liquidity providers and Club presidents instead. The project does not publish a full fee table, so check the swap screen before you trade.
Is BunnySwap safe?
Not on the public information available. No audits are listed, and liquidity is small compared with its early peak. Use small amounts, check price impact, and never put in more than you can afford to lose.
Why did BunnySwap's liquidity fall?
Reports say TVL peaked around $53 million after the May 2024 launch and then dropped to roughly $10.6 million amid friend.tech's shifting plans, including a reversed decision to leave Base. It now stands at about $86,000.
