Good

Our verdict on BitMart

6.8/10

BitMart suits active traders who want a large coin list plus futures, earn, loans and a crypto card in one account. Its main strength is breadth. The main caveat is trust: it is custodial, public sources name no licence or audit, and fee rates are not published in the material reviewed. Newcomers should start small, read the fee page and avoid leverage until they understand it.

What is BitMart?

BitMart is a centralized crypto exchange that says it lists more than 1700 coins and pairs. Its homepage covers spot and futures trading, margin up to 5x, earn products, crypto loans, copy trading and a prepaid Mastercard.

DefiLlama tracks it as a centralized exchange with about 3.97 million USD in tracked on-chain assets across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Bitcoin and Starknet. That figure fell about 24% over seven days. It has a native token, BMX, and lists no audits.

The platform also pushes AI tools such as X Insight sentiment analysis and a Beacon assistant, plus a beta DEX and token launch programs. Its homepage advertises up to 14,000 USDT in welcome bonuses, though terms are not given.

How BitMart works

BitMart is a centralized exchange. Users deposit funds into the platform, which holds them in custody and matches buy and sell orders in an order book. Prices and liquidity come from the exchange's own markets rather than from smart contracts.

Beyond spot, the platform offers leveraged products, earn products where deposited assets generate yield, and loans backed by crypto collateral. It also has a beta DEX and an on-chain discovery tool, which let users trade tokens from their own wallets instead of the exchange account.

The exchange also runs a native token, BMX, and a launch arm for new tokens and NFTs. DefiLlama tracks on-chain holdings across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Bitcoin and Starknet.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Very wide coin selection, with 1700+ coins and pairs listed.
  • Many products in one place: spot, futures, margin, earn, loans and a card.
  • Demo trading mode lets newcomers practise without risk.
  • Multiple ways to buy crypto, including card, P2P and third-party providers.
  • Describes hybrid hot/cold wallets and multi-signature security.
  • 24/7 support is stated.

Watch out for

  • No regulatory licence or jurisdiction is named, so the 'compliant' claim cannot be checked here.
  • Custodial model: funds sit with the exchange, so users carry counterparty and insolvency risk.
  • DefiLlama lists no audits for the exchange's on-chain components.
  • Product range is very broad, which can overwhelm beginners.
  • Futures, margin (up to 5x) and copy trading carry high risk of loss.
  • Fee schedules are not shown, so costs cannot be compared up front.

BitMart fees

Trading, withdrawal and futures fee schedules are not. The homepage says 'Low Fees' in general terms but gives no rates. Users should check the fee page and each product screen before trading.

The only concrete fee is for the BitMart Card: ATM withdrawals are free for 200 to 1000 USD per month, then a 2% fee applies. Third-party card purchases through providers such as MoonPay may carry their own charges.

Is BitMart safe?

BitMart holds user funds in custody, so users rely on the exchange's security and solvency. The homepage describes hybrid hot and cold wallets, multi-signature technology and a risk control system, and calls the platform compliant. The project does not name a licence, regulator or proof of reserves, and DefiLlama lists no audits.

The project does not mention any incidents either way, so users should research the exchange's track record independently. Leveraged products are high risk, and only money you can afford to lose should be used. Keep only what you need on any exchange and use available account protections.

6 steps

How to get started with BitMart

  1. 1

Check that using a crypto exchange is permitted where you live.

  2. 2

Register an account on the official site or mobile app.

  3. 3

Complete identity verification, which the homepage says is required before trading.

  4. 4

Fund the account by card, P2P, a third-party provider or a crypto deposit.

  5. 5

Review fees, then start with a small spot trade before trying futures or margin.

  6. 6

Turn on available account security options and keep only what you need on the exchange.

Who BitMart is for

BitMart fits traders who want access to many altcoins and derivatives on a single custodial platform, and users interested in extras like a crypto card or AI tools. It is less suited to anyone who wants to self-custody all funds or who needs clear, named regulatory oversight before depositing.
