ArthSwap V2 Review 2026: A Small Astar DEX With Thin Activity

ArthSwap V2 is a decentralized exchange on Astar Network for swapping tokens, providing liquidity and staking ARSW. It has an audited history and a simple interface, but liquidity and token activity are now very thin.

Our verdict on ArthSwap V2

4.5/10

ArthSwap V2 suits users already active on Astar who want a basic, non-custodial DEX for swaps or small liquidity positions. Its main strength is a simple interface with two listed audits and fee revenue routed to liquidity providers and stakers. The main caveat is activity: TVL is around $500,000, ARSW trading is almost nonexistent, and the team itself has described project revenue as effectively zero. Anyone else will likely find deeper liquidity elsewhere.

What is ArthSwap V2?

ArthSwap V2 is a decentralized exchange on Astar Network, the EVM-compatible chain in the Polkadot ecosystem. The project describes itself as a one-stop DeFi protocol for the chain, covering swapping, liquidity pools and staking. It has been tracked since February 2022, and its token is ARSW.

In its early days it presented itself as the largest DEX community on Astar, with high yields and a simple interface. The app today offers a plain interface for swapping tokens or providing liquidity.

Current activity is small. Total value locked is about $499,650, little changed over the past week. A price page reports an ARSW market cap under $10,000 and trading volume of about $1 in 24 hours. A December 2024 forum post asked for ArthSwap to be delisted from Astar's dApp staking, citing near-zero project revenue because all swap fees go to liquidity providers and stakers. Treat it as a small, low-liquidity venue.

How ArthSwap V2 works

ArthSwap is an automated market maker, the standard design for a DEX. Instead of matching buyers and sellers in an order book, it holds pools of two tokens and prices trades from the ratio between them. When you swap, you add one token to the pool and take the other out at a price set by a formula.

Liquidity providers fill those pools. They deposit both tokens in a pair and receive a share of the swap fees. The main risk is impermanent loss: if token prices diverge, the deposit can be worth less than simply holding the tokens.

ARSW is the native token. Earlier materials describe it being paid as a mining reward and used for staking. The project says swap fee revenue goes to liquidity providers and ARSW stakers.

6 features

Key features

01

Token swaps

Users swap tokens through on-chain liquidity pools on Astar directly from their own wallet, without creating an account.

02

Liquidity provision

Anyone can deposit token pairs into pools and receive a share of the trading fees those pools generate.

03

ARSW staking

ARSW can be staked, and the project says swap fee revenue is allocated to liquidity providers and ARSW stakers.

04

Liquidity mining rewards

Earlier materials describe liquidity mining rewards paid in ARSW, with a published guide on harvesting mining rewards.

05

Simple interface

The homepage describes a single interface for swapping or providing liquidity, and the project's own description stresses simplicity.

06

Launchpad (reported)

One third-party write-up describes ArthSwap as also acting as an IDO launchpad, though the current availability of this is not confirmed.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Straightforward DEX functions: swaps, liquidity pools and staking in one interface.
  • Two audits are listed for the protocol.
  • Swap fee revenue is passed to liquidity providers and ARSW stakers rather than kept by the project.
  • Non-custodial: trades happen from your own wallet.
  • Operating since early 2022, so it has some track record on Astar.

Watch out for

  • Very low liquidity: TVL is about $500,000, so larger swaps can move prices heavily.
  • ARSW trading looks nearly inactive, with a reported market cap under $10,000 and 24-hour volume of about $1 on one price page.
  • A December 2024 forum post asks to delist ArthSwap from Astar's dApp staking and says project revenue is effectively zero because all swap fees go to liquidity providers and stakers.
  • Exposure to a single chain, Astar, whose DeFi ecosystem is much smaller than the major networks.
  • The team, audit reports and fee tiers are not published in the material reviewed, so users must verify these themselves.
  • Some older write-ups describe a wider roadmap (launchpad, community programs) that may no longer be actively developed.

ArthSwap V2 fees

ArthSwap does not publish a fee schedule in the material reviewed. Swap fees, pool fee tiers and any withdrawal costs would be shown in the app at the time of a swap or deposit, and in the project's wiki.

A December 2024 community post states that all swap fee revenue is allocated to liquidity providers and ARSW stakers, leaving the project itself with effectively no revenue. On top of swap fees, users pay Astar network gas in ASTR, and thin liquidity can add significant price impact on larger trades.

Is ArthSwap V2 safe?

Two audits are listed for the protocol, but the auditors and reports are not detailed in the material reviewed, and an audit does not guarantee the absence of bugs. As a non-custodial DEX, funds in pools sit in smart contracts and carry contract risk, plus impermanent loss for liquidity providers.

The project's own forum post says revenue is effectively zero, which raises questions about ongoing development, monitoring and support. Token market data shows very little trading. The team and any regulatory status are not published in the material reviewed. Check the official site and Astar community channels for the latest status before depositing funds, and only use money you can afford to lose.

6 steps

How to get started with ArthSwap V2

  1. 1

Set up a wallet that supports Astar Network, such as an EVM-compatible browser wallet, and add the Astar network.

  2. 2

Acquire a small amount of ASTR for gas and the tokens you want to trade.

  3. 3

Open the ArthSwap app from the official site and connect your wallet.

  4. 4

Check the price impact and expected output on a small test swap before trading larger amounts.

  5. 5

To provide liquidity, pick a pool, deposit both tokens and review the pool's fee and impermanent loss risk.

  6. 6

Read the project wiki and recent announcements, including the reward harvest guide, before staking ARSW.

Who ArthSwap V2 is for

ArthSwap V2 is for existing Astar users who want a simple on-chain swap or small liquidity position and are comfortable with a low-liquidity venue. It is less suited to larger traders, who would face price impact, and to anyone who needs an actively developed protocol with a visible team.

ArthSwap V2 FAQs

What is ArthSwap V2?

ArthSwap V2 is a decentralized exchange built on Astar Network. Users can swap tokens, add liquidity to pools and stake the ARSW token, all from a web interface connected to their own wallet.

Which blockchain does ArthSwap use?

It runs on Astar Network, an EVM-compatible chain in the Polkadot ecosystem. You need a wallet that supports Astar and a small amount of ASTR to pay gas fees.

What is the ARSW token?

ARSW is the protocol's native token. It is used in staking and liquidity mining rewards, and one source reports a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. Price pages show very small market capitalization and trading volume.

Is ArthSwap safe to use?

The project lists two audits, but audits do not remove smart-contract risk. With TVL near $500,000 and a forum post describing revenue as effectively zero, ongoing maintenance is a fair question. Only use funds you can afford to lose and check the latest audit reports and announcements.

What are ArthSwap's fees?

The project does not publish a fee table in the material reviewed. As with most DEXes, expect a swap fee set by the pool, plus network gas on Astar. A December 2024 post says swap fee revenue goes to liquidity providers and ARSW stakers.

Has ArthSwap been removed from Astar dApp staking?

A forum post from December 2024 proposed removing ArthSwap from Astar's dApp staking program. The material reviewed does not say whether that proposal passed, so check the Astar community channels for the outcome.
