What Ultima is
Ultima (ULTIMA) is described by its team as the infrastructure token of the Ultima ecosystem, a group of crypto products built around a proprietary blockchain the project calls the Smart Blockchain. According to the project's own description, that network uses Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS), where a limited set of elected validators produce blocks rather than every participant competing to do so.
The project claims throughput of up to 2,000 transactions per second, a new block roughly every three seconds and low transaction fees. These are the team's figures, and we have not verified them independently. The stated aim is for ULTIMA to work as an everyday payment currency, and the mission statement talks about becoming the most widespread digital currency.
The ecosystem is said to include DeFi-U, a staking product that pays rewards in ULTIMA, and a marketplace. The team also says it is working on a physical crypto debit card, an exchange, and travel and crowdfunding platforms. Treat these as stated plans unless you can confirm that a given product is live.
At the time of writing, market data sites classify ULTIMA under Layer 1 tokens, DeFi, payments and the BNB Chain ecosystem, which reflects how mixed the project's positioning is.
What the token is used for
The public description gives ULTIMA a few roles. The main one is as a payment currency inside and beyond the ecosystem, with fast blocks and low fees as the selling point. The second is as the reward asset for DeFi-U, the staking technology, where users who stake receive payouts in ULTIMA.
The third role is as the unit of account for the ecosystem's apps. The marketplace is the product named most clearly, and planned items such as a debit card, exchange, travel platform and crowdfunding platform would presumably use the token as well. The project's materials do not spell out every function in detail, so we will not guess beyond what is stated.
Some third-party write-ups describe a deflationary token model, meaning supply is meant to shrink over time through some mechanism. Public sources we have do not explain how that works or how much has been removed. If this matters to you, look for a clear on-chain record or an official explanation before relying on it.
The project also reports a community of more than 2.8 million users across 120 countries. That is a self-reported figure and says little about how many people actively hold or use the token.
Supply and tokenomics
The data lists a maximum supply of 100,000 ULTIMA, the same as the total supply. About 84,708 tokens were circulating as of 2026-11-05, so roughly 85 percent of the cap is in circulation. That is a very small unit count, which is why a single token trades at a four-figure dollar price.
At that date, the price was about $1,225 per token, giving a market capitalization of about $103.8 million and a fully diluted valuation of about $122.5 million. The token ranked around 268 by market cap. The 24-hour trading volume was about $5.7 million, which is modest compared with its market cap.
A price in the thousands of dollars does not mean the token is large or valuable in any special sense. Market cap is the better yardstick, since it accounts for the number of tokens in circulation.
We do not have a public breakdown of how the 100,000 tokens were allocated between the team, investors, staking rewards and the community. Without that, it is hard to judge how much of the remaining unreleased supply could enter the market later. Check the project's documentation for vesting and allocation details.
Chains and how it is held and traded
Market data lists ULTIMA as issued on BNB Chain, and it does not list it as the native coin of any chain. That sits awkwardly alongside the project's description of its own Smart Blockchain running DPoS. The likely explanation is that a BNB Chain version of the token exists alongside the project's own network, but public sources we have do not confirm how the two relate, whether they are bridged, or which is the primary version.
Some exchange guides also note that ULTIMA exists on more than one blockchain. This makes it important to confirm the network and contract address before any transfer. Sending tokens to an address on the wrong network can lead to permanent loss.
In general terms, a BNB Chain token can be held in any wallet that supports that network and the BNB Chain token standard, and it is traded on centralized exchanges and on decentralized exchanges that run on that chain. Liquidity differs a lot from one venue to another, so a thin order book can cause large price swings on bigger orders.
Before trading, check the listed trading pairs, the volume on each venue, and whether the contract address matches the one published by the project.
History and notable events
The project says ULTIMA first launched in March 2023. We do not have a more precise launch date or a record of major upgrades, so we will not fill in a timeline.
The price record is clearer. The all-time high was about $22,851 on 2025-02-14. The all-time low was about $1,141.94 on 2026-11-03, only two days before our data date. As of 2026-11-05 the price was about $1,225, around 95 percent below the peak. Over the previous year the token had lost roughly 64 percent, though the move over the last seven days was close to flat.
A fall of that size, ending near a record low, means anyone who bought near the peak is far underwater. It also suggests the market has lowered its view of the project over time. Past performance does not indicate future results, and nothing here is a prediction.
Public reporting also show people asking whether the token is a scam. We have no evidence either way, and the question reflects public uncertainty rather than a finding. It is a reason to research the team, the contracts and the product track record carefully before committing money.
Risks to understand
Several risks apply. The first is price risk: a drop of about 64 percent over a year and a trade near an all-time low show how volatile and illiquid this token can be. Daily volume of a few million dollars means large sales can move the price.
The second is transparency risk. Many of the headline claims, such as 2,000 transactions per second, 2.8 million users and a deflationary model, come from the project or from promotional write-ups. We could not confirm them independently. Planned products such as the debit card, exchange and travel platform may not ship on schedule or at all.
Third is structural confusion. The project talks about its own blockchain, while data providers list the token on BNB Chain. Unclear bridging or multiple versions of a token can lead to user errors and fake contract addresses.
Fourth is concentration and governance. DPoS networks rely on a small validator set, and we have no public details on token allocation or who controls the larger holdings. Staking-reward products can also pay rewards in the same token, which can create sell pressure if rewards are mostly sold.
Only consider amounts you can afford to lose entirely. This page is information, not advice to buy or sell.
How to store it safely
Start with the network. Confirm the correct chain and contract address from the project's official channels, not from search ads, social media replies or direct messages. Fake tokens with the same name and symbol are common on BNB Chain.
For small amounts, a reputable self-custody wallet that supports BNB Chain is usually enough. For larger amounts, a hardware wallet adds protection, because your private keys stay on a device that is not connected to the internet. Write your recovery phrase on paper, store it offline, and never type it into a website or share it with anyone, including someone claiming to be support.
If you use staking or the ecosystem's apps, remember that connecting your wallet and approving token spending gives a contract permission over your funds. Approve only what you need, and revoke unused approvals periodically.
Keeping tokens on an exchange is convenient for trading, but you rely on that company to hold them. Withdraw what you do not plan to trade soon. Send a small test transaction first when moving funds to a new address, then send the rest once it arrives safely.
