What Sentient is
Sentient is a project that describes itself as building an open, community-built platform for artificial general intelligence, often shortened to AGI. Its stated aim is to offer an open-source alternative to closed AI labs such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. The team argues that a few companies building advanced AI in private is a risk, because they decide what the systems know and who they serve.
The project's main concept is called the GRID. It is described as an open network where agents, models, datasets, tools and compute are contributed by many different builders and combined to produce results. Sentient says more than 100 partners take part in it. The idea is that no single party owns the whole system, and contributors can plug in specialised pieces that work together.
SENT is the token linked to this ecosystem. It sits in the AI token category and was listed on major exchanges in early 2026, according to public reports. Sentient also runs a research arm, Sentient Labs, which publishes work on AI reasoning. This page covers the token, not the AI technology itself, and the technical claims come from the project's own descriptions.
What the SENT token is used for
Public sources are only partly specific about what SENT does. Descriptions of the project say the Sentient network provides a base for governance, payments and ownership across its ecosystem, and that the token economy is meant to fund and reward activity around the GRID. In general terms, that points to a token used to coordinate contributors, pay for services and give holders some say in how the network develops.
The details matter, and they can change. Which functions are live, which are planned, and how much of the value flow actually runs through SENT are questions to answer from the project's current documentation rather than from summaries like this one. A token being described as useful for governance or payments does not mean those features are widely used.
The exchange listings also created a trading market for SENT that is separate from any on-chain use. Many holders of AI tokens hold them for market exposure rather than to use the underlying network. Read the official documents for the present state of utility before assuming a particular function exists.
Supply and tokenomics
The data lists a maximum supply of 34,359,738,368 SENT, which is also the stated total supply. About 7.24 billion tokens were circulating as of 2026-11-05, which is roughly a fifth of the maximum. The rest is not yet in free circulation, and it is typically held in allocations such as team, investors, ecosystem and community pools, often with vesting schedules. This article does not list the exact split, so check the official tokenomics page.
This gap matters for valuation. As of 2026-11-05, the market cap was about $136.2 million, while the fully diluted value, which assumes every token exists, was about $646.4 million. That is a large difference. If more tokens unlock over time, the circulating supply grows, and that can add selling pressure unless demand grows with it.
A third-party data source reports that the project raised about $92.6 million across four completed rounds, including a token launch. Treat that figure as a reported number. Investor allocations and unlock timing are worth reading before drawing conclusions about future supply.
Chains, holding and trading
The data shows SENT as issued on Ethereum, meaning it is a standard token living on that network rather than the coin of its own blockchain. The data lists no chain for which it is the native token. Some descriptions refer to a Sentient blockchain for governance and payments, so confirm the current setup, and any bridged versions of the token, in the official documentation.
Because it is on Ethereum, SENT can be held in common Ethereum-compatible wallets and used with the usual decentralised exchanges and wallet tools. You need a small amount of ETH to pay network fees for transfers. Always copy the contract address from the project's official channels, since fake tokens with the same name and symbol are common.
SENT is also traded on centralised exchanges. Public reports mention listings on Binance and Coinbase, and the token was featured in Binance Alpha and Binance Wallet IDO programmes. As of 2026-11-05, 24-hour trading volume was about $4.2 million, and the token ranked around 221 by market cap. Availability differs by country and platform, so check what your local exchange supports and what rules apply to you.
History and notable events
Sentient attracted attention from investors before its token existed. Pantera Capital published a post in July 2024 explaining why it was investing in the project, describing it as a decentralised AGI platform that combines a web3 incentive layer with AI. Third-party data sites later reported total fundraising of about $92.6 million.
The token reached the market in early 2026. One report at the time cited a market cap of about $180 million and a fully diluted value near $850 million at launch, with listings on Binance and Coinbase. The data shows an all-time high of about $0.048 on 2026-01-31, shortly after launch. The all-time low of about $0.0113 came on 2026-07-29.
As of 2026-11-05, the price was about $0.0188, which is well below the high and above the low. The seven-day change was about -9.3%. No one-year change is available because the token has not existed that long. The exact launch date is not in the data, so rely on official announcements for it. The pattern so far, a sharp early peak followed by a long decline, is common for newly listed tokens.
Risks to understand
SENT carries the usual risks of a young, mid-sized token, plus some that are specific to its sector.
Price and liquidity. The price has swung widely since launch, and it fell sharply from its early high. A market cap of about $136 million is small compared with major assets, and thin trading can magnify moves.
Dilution. With only about a fifth of the maximum supply in circulation, future unlocks could increase the number of tokens on the market. The fully diluted value is several times the current market cap.
Execution risk. Building an open AGI network is an ambitious goal. The GRID, its partners and its token functions are described by the project itself, and results may fall short of the stated vision. The AI sector is also crowded and attracts well-funded competitors.
Narrative risk. AI tokens tend to move with sentiment about AI in general, not only with project progress.
Scams. Fake tokens, phishing pages and impersonation accounts often appear around popular projects. This page is not financial advice, and nothing here predicts future prices.
How to store SENT safely
Because SENT is an Ethereum token, any wallet that supports Ethereum can hold it. For a meaningful amount, many people prefer a hardware wallet, which keeps the private keys offline and requires physical confirmation for each transaction. Software wallets are fine for smaller amounts if the device is kept secure and up to date.
Write down the recovery phrase on paper or metal and keep it offline, away from photos, cloud notes and email. Never share it with anyone, including people claiming to be support staff. No legitimate project or exchange will ask for it.
Before sending or approving anything, check the token contract address against the project's official channels. When you connect to a decentralised app, review what permissions you are granting, and revoke old approvals you no longer need. Send a small test transaction first when moving a large amount.
Leaving tokens on an exchange is convenient for trading, but you rely on the platform's security and solvency. Keep only what you plan to trade there, and use two-factor authentication on every account.
By the numbers
Sentient in numbers
Sentient (SENT) is ranked #217 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $135M and a price of $0.0187 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $642M, so roughly 21% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 4.7% over 7 days, down 24.9% over 30 days. It trades about 61% below its all-time high of $0.0481, set on Jan 31, 2026.
About 7.24B SENT are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 34.36B (21% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $12.4M, or 9.1% of its market cap: high turnover.
SENT has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
