What Pearl is

Pearl is a Layer 1 blockchain that describes itself as a Proof-of-Useful-Work network. In Bitcoin-style mining, hardware burns energy on calculations that have no use outside securing the chain. Pearl's design tries to make that same work do double duty. According to the project's own description, its core is a new implementation of matrix multiplication, the main operation GPUs perform during AI training and inference. The idea is that a GPU can produce proof-of-work as a side effect of running AI workloads, which the project calls a 2-for-1.

PEARL is the network's native coin. Some sources list the ticker as PRL, so check which symbol a given exchange or tracker uses. Market-data sites place it in both Layer 1 and AI categories, and also list it as a Proof of Work asset.

One caution on naming: an article from early 2025 describes a "$PEARL" token as a bridge between traditional finance and decentralized finance. That appears to be a different project, so confirm the network, contract or chain details before treating any information as being about this asset.

What the token is used for

The public material gives a fairly narrow picture of the token's role. As a native Layer 1 coin of a proof-of-work chain, PEARL is the asset paid to miners for producing blocks, and it is the unit in which value moves on the network. Fees for transactions would normally be paid in it as well, though public data does not spell out fee rules.

The project's research materials go further and pitch Pearl as a way to trade AI compute directly, without commissions, banking rails or dollar-system overhead. The framing is that energy, data and money combine into a single digital asset. That is a stated aim and a design thesis, not a measured outcome. We have not seen independent evidence of how much AI compute is actually paid for in PEARL.

In practice, the main verifiable use today is the mining reward and the secondary-market trading of the coin. Anything beyond that, such as compute markets or application-layer activity, should be checked against current project documentation.

Supply and tokenomics

The data lists a maximum and total supply of 2.1 billion PEARL. As of 2026-11-05, about 369.3 million were circulating, which is roughly 18% of the maximum. At a price of about $1.66, that gives a market cap of about $612.5M and a fully diluted valuation of about $3.48B. The gap between those two figures reflects how much of the supply has yet to be issued.

What we cannot say is how the remaining supply is released. The emission schedule, block reward, halving pattern and any pre-allocation to founders, investors or a treasury are not in the data. Those details matter a great deal for a proof-of-work coin, since ongoing issuance creates sell pressure from miners and a large unissued balance can weigh on valuation. Read the protocol document and any published allocation breakdown before drawing conclusions.

The 2.1 billion cap is a hard limit only to the extent the protocol rules enforce it, so it is worth confirming that in the technical documentation.

Chains, mining and how it trades

Pearl runs its own base-layer blockchain, so PEARL is not an ERC-20 or a token issued on another network. The data lists no chains it is issued on and no other chain for which it is the native token beyond its own network.

Mining is the main way new coins enter circulation. One source reports that mining software targets GPUs, with some marketing also mentioning other hardware types, but the project's central design is built around GPU matrix-multiplication. Community discussion on mining forums has mentioned that margins are getting thin, which is typical as more hardware joins a proof-of-work network and difficulty rises. That is anecdotal, not a measured figure.

For trading, PEARL is tracked by market-data sites and had about $13.6M in 24-hour volume as of 2026-11-05. That is modest next to its market cap. Which exchanges list it, and whether there are bridged or wrapped versions, should be checked directly, because a wrapped copy on another chain carries extra contract and bridge risk compared with the native coin.

History and notable events

One source reports that Pearl launched on 27 April 2026 and mined its first 40,000 blocks in about 5.9 days, paying GPU miners. The structured data does not confirm a launch date, so treat that as a single-source claim. The project is also associated with a group called Pearl Research Labs, which publishes the protocol paper.

Price history has been volatile. The all-time low was about $0.14 on 2026-07-23, and the all-time high was about $2.46 on 2026-10-21. So the coin rose many times over in a few months, then pulled back. As of 2026-11-05 it was about 6.5% lower over seven days. There is no one-year change because the asset is less than a year old.

A young chain with a steep early rally has little track record. Network security, miner participation and developer activity are still being established. No price outlook is offered here.

Key risks

Several risks stand out. First, the technology is new. The claim that useful AI work can double as proof-of-work depends on the design holding up under adversarial conditions, and novel consensus mechanisms can have undiscovered flaws. Second, supply: with only about 18% of the maximum in circulation, future issuance may add selling pressure, and the exact schedule is not in the data we have. Third, the gap between market cap and fully diluted valuation shows how much of the value depends on coins not yet released.

Fourth, mining economics. If margins keep shrinking, smaller miners may drop out, which can concentrate hashing power. Fifth, liquidity and volatility. Daily volume is small relative to market cap, and the coin has moved sharply in both directions since July.

Finally, naming confusion. The PEARL and PRL tickers, and unrelated tokens with similar names, raise the chance of buying the wrong asset or falling for a fake listing. Marketing claims about AI compute markets should be treated as goals until evidence shows real use.

How to store it safely

Because PEARL is a native coin, it needs a wallet that supports the Pearl network. Use only wallet software published by the project's official channels, and verify the source before installing, since fake wallet apps are a common scam in newly launched chains. If a hardware wallet supports the network, it is generally the safer choice for amounts you cannot afford to lose. If not, use a reputable software wallet on a device you keep clean and updated.

Write your recovery phrase on paper or metal and store it offline. Never type it into a website, share it in a chat, or keep it in a photo or cloud note. Anyone who has the phrase controls the coins.

Leaving coins on an exchange is convenient but means trusting the exchange with custody. If you mine, keep mining rewards flowing to an address you control rather than a pooled account where practical. Send a small test transaction before moving a large amount, and double-check the address and network every time.

By the numbers

Pearl in numbers

Pearl (PEARL) is ranked #94 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $612M and a price of $1.65 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $3.47B, so roughly 18% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 3.2% over 7 days, up 39.9% over 30 days. It trades about 33% below its all-time high of $2.46, set on Oct 21, 2026.

About 370.23M PEARL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 2.1B (18% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $17.0M, or 2.8% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

PEARL has token contracts on Near. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

PEARL FAQs

What is Pearl (PEARL)?

Pearl is a Layer 1 blockchain whose mining is meant to come from AI computations. GPUs perform matrix multiplication that serves both as proof-of-work and as part of AI training or inference workloads. The native coin is PEARL, sometimes listed as PRL.

What is the supply of PEARL?

The maximum and total supply is 2.1 billion. As of 2026-11-05 about 369.3 million were circulating, roughly 18% of the maximum. The release schedule for the rest is not covered in the data we have.

Can you mine PEARL?

Pearl is a proof-of-work network, and its design uses GPU matrix-multiplication so that mining can happen alongside AI workloads. Community comments suggest margins are thin, and profitability depends on hardware, power costs, difficulty and the coin's price, all of which change.

Is PEARL the same as other Pearl tokens?

Not necessarily. Other projects use similar names, including a 2025 article about a different "$PEARL" token. Some sources use the ticker PRL for this chain. Verify the network and official sources before buying or sending anything.

What are PEARL's all-time high and low?

The reported all-time high was about $2.46 on 2026-10-21, and the all-time low was about $0.14 on 2026-07-23. As of 2026-11-05 the price was about $1.66. These figures change quickly and are not a forecast.

How should I store PEARL?

The coin is a native asset of its own chain, so you need a wallet that supports the Pearl network, downloaded from official sources. Keep the recovery phrase offline, consider a hardware wallet if supported, and test with a small transfer first.

What is the market cap of Pearl?

As of Nov 6, 2026, Pearl had a market cap of about $612M, ranking #94 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
