What Midas mTBILL is

Midas mTBILL (MTBILL) is a token that tracks short-dated US Treasury Bills. The project describes it as a permissionless, yield-bearing token. In practice, it is an onchain way to get exposure to short-term US government debt without opening a brokerage account.

Midas, the issuer, is described in public sources as a European tokenized asset issuer. It has launched tokenized Treasury bill products and a crypto basis trade strategy. mTBILL is the Treasury product. Announcements about the token have said it references short-term US Treasury exchange-traded funds, so it is better read as a tokenized certificate tied to those holdings than as a direct claim on individual Treasury bills.

It is classed as a real-world asset (RWA) token, and in tokenized-asset lists it sits in the tokenized Treasuries and yield-bearing stablecoin groups. That label is loose. mTBILL is not a stablecoin. Its value depends on the underlying assets and on the issuer's structure, and the price at the time of writing was above one US dollar.

Because the token represents an offchain asset, what you hold is only as sound as the legal setup, the custody arrangements and the redemption process behind it.

What the token is used for

The main purpose of mTBILL is to give crypto users a place to hold a yield-bearing, Treasury-linked asset onchain. People may use it as a parking spot for capital that would otherwise sit idle, or as a lower-volatility component of a portfolio.

Midas has also promoted what it calls open liquidity architecture. Because mTBILL supports atomic redemption, other tokens and products can build on it and use that feature to meet instant redemption requests. In other words, mTBILL can act as a base asset inside other products, not only as something an individual holds.

It has also been distributed through consumer-facing channels. Public posts say Midas opened mTBILL and its basis-trade token to retail traders in the EU, and that its products became available in the Discover section of Ledger Wallet. An Algorand launch was announced in May 2025.

The token is not a governance token and has no known gas or staking role in the data available here. If you see claims about extra uses, check them against the issuer's own documentation.

Supply and tokenomics

At the time of writing, as of 2026-11-05, about 68.2 million MTBILL were in circulation. The total supply was the same figure, and no maximum supply is listed. The market capitalization was about $73.5M, and the fully diluted value was identical, which fits a token whose supply is created and removed as people deposit and redeem.

That is the key difference from most crypto tokens. mTBILL has no fixed emission schedule, no team or investor allocation shown in the data, and no inflation curve. Supply should follow demand: new tokens are minted when eligible users subscribe, and tokens are burned when they redeem. Treat that as the general design rather than a verified description of every mechanism.

The price was about $1.077. Over the prior seven days it moved by well under one percent, and over the prior year it rose by about 3.4 percent. That pattern suggests value builds up in the token price instead of through a separate rewards token. The recorded all-time high was about $1.18 on 2026-07-15, and the all-time low was about $0.81 on 2026-04-20. A low that far below the recent range is unusual for a Treasury product, so it may reflect thin early trading or a data quirk. Check it before relying on it.

Chains and how it is held and traded

mTBILL is issued on several networks: Ethereum, Oasis Sapphire, Etherlink, Plume Mainnet and Base. Data providers also tag it with the Rootstock ecosystem. It is not the native token of any chain, so you do not need it to pay fees. You will need the native gas token of whichever chain you use.

Two routes exist for getting in and out. One is primary: subscribing to and redeeming from the issuer directly, which usually involves onboarding steps and eligibility checks that vary by region. The other is secondary: buying or selling on decentralized exchanges or centralized platforms that list it, subject to their own rules.

The data shows no 24-hour trading volume figure, and secondary liquidity for tokenized Treasury products is often thin compared with major tokens. A thin market can mean wider spreads and price gaps against the underlying value, so large trades may behave differently from small ones.

To hold it, you need a wallet that supports the chain you choose. Public sources say MetaMask can display it once added, and that Ledger Wallet has offered Midas products in its Discover section. Always confirm you are using the right chain and token contract before sending anything.

History and notable events

Midas presents itself as a European tokenized asset issuer, with mTBILL as one of its first products, alongside a crypto basis trade token. Public posts from 2025 and 2026 point to a few milestones.

In May 2025, Midas announced mTBILL on Algorand, describing it as a tokenized certificate that references short-term US Treasury ETFs. Later reports described an EU first, in which mTBILL and the basis-trade token were opened to retail traders. Midas also announced that its onchain investment products, beginning with mTBILL and another token, were available directly in Ledger Wallet's Discover section. In April 2026, the project wrote about open liquidity architecture, where mTBILL's atomic redemption lets other tokens meet instant redemption requests.

The launch date is not given in the data used here, so none is stated. The spread of chains, including Ethereum, Base, Etherlink, Plume and Oasis Sapphire, suggests the issuer is pursuing wide distribution instead of settling on a single network.

None of this removes the need to read the issuer's current documentation, since terms, supported regions and redemption rules can change.

Risks to understand

mTBILL carries risks that differ from those of a typical crypto token.

Issuer and structure risk. Holders depend on the issuer, its legal structure, its custodians and the funds or instruments it uses. If any part fails or changes terms, the token's value and redemption could be affected.

Reference-asset risk. Announcements say the token references short-term Treasury ETFs. Those have their own fees, tracking differences and market risk, even though short-dated Treasuries are generally considered low-risk.

Redemption and access risk. Direct redemption may involve eligibility checks, limits or processing windows. Regional rules can restrict who may subscribe, and you should follow them as written.

Liquidity and price risk. Secondary markets may be thin, and the recorded price history includes a dip to about $0.81. Prices on a trading venue can drift from the underlying value.

Smart contract and bridge risk. Several chains means several deployments. Any bug, permission setting or cross-chain mechanism is a possible point of failure.

Regulatory risk. Tokenized securities-like products sit in a developing legal area, and rules differ by country. This is general information, not financial advice.

How to store it safely

Store mTBILL like any other token on a public chain, with a few extra precautions.

First, pick a wallet that supports the chain where your tokens live. A hardware wallet is a common choice for larger holdings, since it keeps your keys offline. Software wallets are fine for small amounts if you protect your device well.

Second, write down your recovery phrase on paper, store it offline, and never type it into a website or share it. No genuine support team will ask for it.

Third, check the network and contract address before every transfer. The same token name can exist on several chains, and sending to the wrong network can lose funds. Send a small test amount first when moving a large sum.

Fourth, watch out for fake tokens and phishing pages that imitate the issuer. Use the contract address listed in the issuer's official documentation, not one from a social media reply or a search ad.

Finally, keep records of your subscriptions and redemptions. Because mTBILL tracks a financial asset, tax treatment may be more complex than for ordinary tokens, so consider asking a qualified adviser.

By the numbers

Midas mTBILL in numbers

Midas mTBILL (MTBILL) is ranked #332 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $72.8M and a price of $1.08 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($72.8M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was up 0.1% over 7 days, up 0.3% over 30 days, up 3.3% over the past year. It trades about 9% below its all-time high of $1.18, set on Jul 15, 2026.

About 67.53M MTBILL are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

MTBILL has token contracts on 5 chains we track, including Ethereum, Oasis Sapphire, Etherlink, Plume. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups MTBILL under Real-world asset (RWA) tokens.
