What SP500 xStock is

SP500 xStock (SPYX) is a token that tracks the price of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, a fund that holds shares in large US companies. It belongs to the xStocks family, a set of tokenized stocks and ETFs. According to the project's own description, each xStock is backed 1:1 by the underlying asset, designed to comply with EU regulations, aimed at users outside the US, and meant to give holders a legal claim to the value of the stock.

In plain terms, SPYX is a blockchain-based receipt for exposure to the S&P 500 ETF. You do not own the fund shares directly in a brokerage account. You hold a token that is supposed to follow the fund's price, with real shares held behind it. The token is not a share of a crypto protocol and has no mining or staking mechanism of its own.

The project says xStocks cover 57 US stocks and ETFs. SPYX is the S&P 500 product in that range. On the market-data side it is classed as a tokenized asset, a tokenized ETF and a real-world asset (RWA) token, and it sits in the Backed xStocks ecosystem. As of 2026-11-05 it ranked around 341 by market capitalization, which makes it a mid-sized token by that measure.

What SPYX is used for

The main purpose of SPYX is to give people price exposure to the S&P 500 through a crypto wallet or crypto exchange instead of a traditional broker. That can matter to users in regions where opening a brokerage account is slow, costly or restricted. The project pitches xStocks as accessible to non-US users, so eligibility rules apply and vary by platform and country.

Because SPYX is a standard token on several blockchains, it can in principle be used like other tokens. The project describes xStocks as composable with DeFi protocols, meaning they can be moved between wallets, traded on decentralized exchanges, or plugged into other on-chain applications that accept them. Which applications actually support SPYX differs by chain and changes over time, so check each platform's listing before assuming it works.

Some traders also use tokenized index products for arbitrage or hedging, taking advantage of small gaps between the token price and the underlying fund. The token carries no governance rights, and the public information available do not describe any fee-sharing or utility function beyond tracking the ETF. Treat it as an exposure instrument, not as a project token with its own economy.

Supply and tokenomics

SPYX has no fixed maximum supply. The data lists no max, which fits a token whose supply is meant to follow demand: tokens are created when backing assets are secured and removed when they are redeemed. That is a general feature of backed tokens, not a detail confirmed for every mint and burn event.

At the time of writing, circulating supply was about 93,500 tokens, while total supply was about 280,800. Market capitalization was about $72.3 million and fully diluted valuation about $217.0 million as of 2026-11-05. The gap between those two figures comes entirely from the difference between circulating and total supply. The data does not explain that difference, so readers should not assume the extra tokens are or are not backed or tradable without checking the issuer's published information.

There is no inflation schedule, team allocation or token unlock calendar of the kind found in typical crypto projects. Value comes from the price of the underlying ETF plus any premium or discount in the market. Around the same date, the token traded near $773, with about $7.8 million in 24-hour volume. Over the previous seven days the price was essentially flat, and over one year it was up about 14.7%. Past performance says nothing about future results.

Chains and how it is held and traded

SPYX is issued on multiple networks: Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Hyperliquid L1 and Monad. On Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains it follows the ERC-20 standard, and on Solana it is an SPL token. It is not the native token of any chain, so you need the chain's own coin, such as ETH or SOL, to pay network fees when moving it.

In general terms, people hold SPYX in three ways. First, on a centralized exchange that lists it, where the exchange holds the tokens for you. Second, in a self-custody wallet on one of the supported chains. Third, through decentralized exchanges on those chains, where you swap other tokens for SPYX using a connected wallet.

The same token on different chains is not interchangeable by default. Sending SPYX on one network to an address expecting another can result in lost funds, so confirm the network before every transfer. Liquidity also differs by venue. A chain with deeper pools will usually offer tighter prices than one with thin trading. Platforms may also restrict access by location or require identity checks, and those rules should be followed as written.

History and notable events

the public information available do not give a launch date for SPYX, so only the price record can be described. The recorded all-time low was about $614.77 on 2025-07-02, which suggests the token was trading by mid-2025. The all-time high was about $786.11 on 2026-10-12, so at the time of writing the price sat only slightly below that peak.

Those moves largely reflect the S&P 500 ETF itself rather than crypto-specific events. A tokenized index tracker tends to rise and fall with the US stock market, though short-term differences can appear because crypto markets trade around the clock while US stock markets do not.

SPYX is part of the wider xStocks launch, which brought tokenized US stocks and ETFs to several centralized and decentralized venues. Its expansion onto newer networks such as Monad and Hyperliquid L1 shows the issuer spreading the token across ecosystems. No security incidents, depegs or regulatory actions are included publicly supplied, and none are claimed here. For the latest news, read the issuer's announcements directly.

Risks to understand

SPYX carries market risk: if the S&P 500 falls, the token should fall with it. It also adds risks that a normal ETF holding does not have.

Issuer and custody risk. The 1:1 backing depends on the issuer and its custodians actually holding the shares and honoring redemptions. If that structure fails, token holders may have a weaker claim than the marketing suggests.

Regulatory and access risk. The product is aimed at non-US users and designed around EU rules. Rules can change, and platforms may delist the token or block certain countries.

Price tracking risk. Outside US market hours, the token trades while the underlying fund does not, so the token price can drift from the fund's value. Thin liquidity on some chains can widen that gap.

Smart contract and bridge risk. Bugs, compromised keys or faulty cross-chain transfers could affect holdings.

Tax and legal treatment. Tokenized securities may be taxed or regulated differently from ordinary crypto in your country. Nothing here is investment advice, and you should only risk money you can afford to lose.

How to store it safely

If you hold SPYX yourself, use a wallet that supports the specific chain you chose, whether Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum or another. Hardware wallets are a common choice for larger balances because the signing keys stay offline. Write down the recovery phrase on paper, store it somewhere private and never type it into a website or share it with anyone, including anyone claiming to be support staff.

Before buying, check the token's contract address from the issuer's official channels, since lookalike tokens with the same name exist across most chains. Send a small test transfer first, and double-check the network. Keep a small amount of the chain's native coin in the wallet to pay fees.

Be careful with approvals when using decentralized apps. Grant only the permissions you need and revoke old ones. Beware of phishing links and fake airdrops.

If you leave SPYX on an exchange, remember the platform controls the keys and its terms govern withdrawals, regional limits and any identity checks. Complete those checks honestly and according to the rules that apply where you live.

SPYX FAQs

What is SP500 xStock (SPYX)?

SPYX is a token designed to follow the price of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust. The project says it is backed 1:1 by the underlying asset. It is a tracker of fund value, not a share of a crypto project.

Which blockchains does SPYX run on?

It is issued on Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Hyperliquid L1 and Monad. Tokens on different chains are separate versions, so always confirm the network before sending funds.

Is SPYX the same as owning an S&P 500 ETF?

SPYX is meant to track the S&P 500 ETF, but the two are not identical. You hold a token rather than fund shares, you rely on the issuer and custodians, and the token trades around the clock, so its price can briefly differ from the fund's.

What is the supply of SPYX?

No maximum supply is listed. As of 2026-11-05, circulating supply was about 93,500 tokens and total supply about 280,800. Supply is meant to follow minting and redemption against the underlying assets, though the data does not explain the gap between the two figures.

Can anyone buy SPYX?

The project describes xStocks as aimed at non-US users and compliant with EU rules. Availability depends on each platform's terms and your country, so check the rules where you live and follow any identity checks required.

What are the main risks of holding SPYX?

The main risks are stock market declines, issuer and custody failure, regulatory changes, price gaps outside US market hours, thin liquidity on some chains, and smart contract or wallet security problems. This page is not investment advice.

What is the market cap of SP500 xStock?

As of Nov 7, 2026, SP500 xStock had a market cap of about $73.2M, ranking #332 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of SPYX?
