Our verdict on Swaylend

5.8/10

Swaylend suits users already on the Fuel Network who want to earn interest or borrow against collateral without leaving that ecosystem. Its main strength is being an early, native lending market with clear docs and a portfolio tracker. The main caveat is size and unclear audit detail: TVL is under $1 million, DefiLlama lists no audits, and fees are not published publicly. Treat it as a small, higher-risk DeFi venue and start with modest amounts.

What is Swaylend?

Swaylend is a decentralized lending and borrowing platform on the Fuel Network. Its homepage calls it Fuel's first lending protocol, and DefiLlama lists it under Lending since October 2024.

At the time of the data, TVL was about $809,000, up about 1.9% over seven days. That makes it a small market. DefiLlama shows no token and no listed audits, although the homepage has an "Audited by" section.

The app offers Borrow, Earn, Markets, Portfolio, Bridges and Swap sections. The homepage mentions a recently added Portfolio view for tracking markets, positions and transactions, plus points for supplying and borrowing.

How Swaylend works

Swaylend is an on-chain money market. Users supply a base asset, such as USDC, into a pool and earn interest from borrowers. Other users deposit approved collateral assets and borrow the base asset against them.

The docs describe a model where users either supply or borrow base assets, with collateral assets held separately and subject to supply caps. If a borrower's collateral value falls too far relative to their debt, the position can be liquidated. The docs note that liquidation can both use and rebuild protocol reserves, which are targeted at a level set by the Swaylend team.

Everything runs on the Fuel Network through smart contracts, so users interact through a wallet rather than depositing with a company. Interest rates are shown as APYs in the app, alongside points and a reward APY.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Early lending protocol native to the Fuel Network
  • Simple app layout with separate Borrow, Earn, Markets and Portfolio sections
  • Portfolio view to track positions and transactions
  • Public documentation covering supplying, borrowing, reserves and bridging
  • Non-custodial design: users keep control through their wallet
  • Points shown on supply and borrow positions

Watch out for

  • TVL is under $1 million, so the market is small and liquidity may be thin
  • DefiLlama lists no audits, and the homepage says "Audited by" without naming any auditor in the text provided
  • Depends on the Fuel Network, which has a much smaller ecosystem than Ethereum or major L2s
  • Users must bridge assets to Fuel first, adding steps and bridge risk
  • Fee, interest rate and collateral parameters are not shown publicly, so costs are hard to judge in advance
  • No governance token is confirmed by DefiLlama, and a third-party tracker listing is unverified

Swaylend fees

Swaylend's fees are not published. Borrowers see a Borrow APY and suppliers see rates in the app's Markets and Borrow views, and a Net APY figure combines borrowing cost with rewards.

There will also be network gas on Fuel and possible bridge fees when moving assets in. Protocol fee splits and reserve factors are described in the docs under protocol reserves, but exact figures are not public.

Is Swaylend safe?

Swaylend is smart-contract software, so the main risks are bugs, oracle problems, liquidation losses and bridge risk when moving funds to Fuel. DefiLlama lists no audits. The homepage has an "Audited by" heading, but the auditor's name is not in the text provided, so readers should verify it in the docs.

With under $1 million in TVL and a young ecosystem, a single failure could have an outsized effect. The docs say reserves are managed to a target level set by the team, which means some decisions are centralised. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.

7 steps

How to get started with Swaylend

  1. 1

Check that DeFi lending is permitted where you live and understand the risks of liquidation.

  2. 2

Set up a Fuel-compatible wallet and keep a small amount of ETH-equivalent for gas on Fuel.

  3. 3

Bridge the assets you need to Fuel using the official Fuel bridge linked from the docs or the Bridges tab.

  4. 4

Open the Swaylend app and connect your wallet.

  5. 5

Review the Markets tab for supply and borrow APYs and collateral caps, and read the docs on liquidation and reserves.

  6. 6

Supply a base asset to earn, or deposit collateral and borrow, starting with a small amount.

  7. 7

Use the Portfolio tab to track positions and keep your collateral ratio safe.

Who Swaylend is for

Swaylend is for crypto users already active on Fuel who understand collateralized borrowing and liquidation risk. It is less suited to beginners or anyone who needs deep liquidity, a long track record or verified audit reports.

Swaylend FAQs

What is Swaylend?

Swaylend is a decentralized lending platform built on the Fuel Network. Users can supply base assets to earn interest or deposit collateral and borrow against it.

Which blockchain does Swaylend use?

Swaylend runs on the Fuel Network, which the project docs say operates with an Ethereum consensus layer. DefiLlama lists Fuel as its only chain.

Do I need to bridge funds to use Swaylend?

The docs say users who lack assets on Fuel need to transfer them using the official Fuel bridge. The app also has a Bridges tab in its navigation.

Does Swaylend have a token?

DefiLlama shows no token for Swaylend. A third-party tracker in public reporting lists a Swaylend token with a 6 billion supply, but the project does not confirm it as an official token, so verify through official channels.

Does Swaylend have a points or rewards program?

The homepage shows points for supplying and borrowing, and a reward APY field. The project does not give the terms of any points program, so check the docs before assuming any value.

Is Swaylend audited?

DefiLlama lists zero audits, while the homepage carries an "Audited by" heading. Because the auditor is not named publicly, read the docs to confirm who audited it and what the scope was.
