Our verdict on Solstice
7.4/10Solstice suits crypto-literate users and institutions who want market-neutral yield on Solana and accept protocol, counterparty and credit risk. Its strengths are a clear strategy explanation, multiple audits, reserve verification and about $201M in TVL. The main caveats are that performance figures are self-reported, fees are not published publicly, and the site says the products are for professional and institutional users only, with several jurisdictions restricted. Check eligibility and the risk disclosures first.

What is Solstice?
Solstice is a yield protocol on Solana. DefiLlama classifies it under basis trading and describes it as a synthetic stablecoin protocol. It lists about $201 million in TVL and has tracked it since 30 September 2025, the date public reporting give for the USX launch.
The homepage calls it the yield layer for Solana. The product stack is USX as the settlement stablecoin, YieldVault with several strategy tokens (eUSX, strcUSX, aiUSX), the SLX ecosystem token, and an API for builders. Solstice says it is backed by Deus X Capital, an institutional investor with $1B+ in assets under management.
The headline numbers are a 13.96% three-year net IRR, a 6.81 Sharpe ratio and no negative months. These come from the project itself, and the project does not say how they were verified. The notice at the bottom of the site also says the products are for professional and institutional users only, so retail access needs a careful read of the terms.
How Solstice works
Solstice starts with USX, a stablecoin on Solana that users mint by depositing USDC or USDT. The protocol says USX is backed by a mix of audited cash, tokenized Treasuries and delta-neutral hedged positions.
USX can then be deposited into YieldVault. In the main strategy, users receive eUSX, whose value is meant to rise as the protocol earns returns. Those returns come from market-neutral trades such as capturing funding rates on perpetual futures, basis trading between spot and futures prices, and hedged liquidity provision. The aim is to avoid betting on price direction.
Other vaults take different risks. strcUSX is structured credit linked to Strategy Inc. STRC preferred income, split into senior and junior tranches. aiUSX earns from lending to AI infrastructure. Builders can also integrate yield into their own apps through the YaaS API.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Transparent description of how yield is generated: funding rate capture, basis trading and hedged liquidity provision
- Smart contracts audited by Halborn (three times) and Sep2, per the homepage
- Reserves described as continuously verified through Accountable Proof of Solvency
- Substantial TVL of about $201M on DefiLlama, stable over the past week (-0.1%)
- Several strategy options at different risk levels, from delta-neutral to first-loss credit
- Backed by Deus X Capital, with a MiCA compliance framework for EU institutions
Watch out for
- Homepage performance figures (13.96% IRR, 6.81 Sharpe, zero negative months) are self-reported, and the project does not show who verified them
- Returns depend on funding rates and basis spreads, which can shrink or turn negative in some market conditions
- The homepage says products are for professional and institutional users only and not available to retail in any jurisdiction, which conflicts with its retail messaging
- Restricted jurisdictions include the US, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and mainland China
- Higher-yield products such as strcUSXjr are first-loss and the AI lending facility adds credit exposure, neither of which is a simple stablecoin yield
- The SLX token launched only recently (May 2026 per public reporting), so its market track record is short
Solstice fees
Fees are not published publicly available here. The homepage quotes net returns, which suggests strategy costs are already deducted, but it does not break out management, performance, minting or redemption fees.
Users should check the official docs and the app before depositing. Solana network fees are paid in SOL, and the getting-started notes mention keeping enough SOL for transactions.
Is Solstice safe?
The homepage lists audits by Halborn (three times) and Sep2, and DefiLlama lists two audits. Reserves are said to be verified through Accountable Proof of Solvency and financial statements reviewed by Richie May. The project does not include audit reports or details of any past incidents.
Risks go beyond smart contracts. Delta-neutral strategies rely on exchanges, custody, hedging execution and oracle pricing. Structured credit and AI lending tranches add credit risk. The site warns that digital assets are highly volatile and may result in total loss.
Regulatory status is restrictive. The site says products are for professional and institutional users only and are unavailable in restricted jurisdictions including the US, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and mainland China. Docs say direct minting is for KYC'd institutional partners. This is a research summary, not financial advice.
6 steps
How to get started with Solstice
- 1
Confirm that you are eligible: read the Important Notice, the risk disclosures and the regional disclosures, and check that you are not in a restricted jurisdiction.
- 2
Set up a Solana wallet and hold some SOL for transaction fees.
- 3
Mint USX with USDC or USDT in the app, if your access tier allows it. Institutions with $500K+ can use direct minting after KYC.
- 4
Pick a strategy in YieldVault: eUSX for delta-neutral yield, strcUSX for structured credit, or aiUSX for AI lending.
- 5
Read the docs for each product, including redemption terms and risks, before depositing.
- 6
Start with a small amount and monitor the vault and reserve disclosures.
Who Solstice is for
Solstice fits experienced DeFi users, wallet and fintech builders, and institutions seeking stablecoin-denominated yield on Solana. It is a poor fit for anyone in a restricted jurisdiction, anyone who cannot accept possible loss, or anyone who wants a guaranteed return.
