Smoothy Review 2026: Single-Pool Stablecoin DEX

Smoothy is a single-pool DEX for same-backed assets such as stablecoins, aimed at low-slippage swaps and yield for liquidity providers. Its TVL is now small and falling, so it reads as a niche, low-liquidity project.

Our verdict on Smoothy

4.8/10

Smoothy suits experienced DeFi users interested in the single-pool stablecoin swap design and willing to take on small-protocol risk. Its main strength is a focused model that targets low slippage between same-backed assets. The main caveat is scale: TVL is around $180,000 and fell sharply in a week, the homepage shows little information, and a depeg in one asset could hurt all liquidity providers. Treat it as a niche, small-size option.

What is Smoothy?

Smoothy is a decentralized exchange protocol that holds same-backed assets, such as stablecoins, in a single liquidity pool. DefiLlama describes it as offering low-cost, zero-slippage swapping and maximized interest earning. It lists the project on Ethereum and BNB Chain under the Dexs category.

The project has a governance token, SMTY, and DefiLlama lists two audits. Public reporting shows documentation pages on swaps, gas optimization, token flexibility and LP incentives, mostly dated from early 2021.

Current scale is small. DefiLlama shows about $180,000 in TVL with a 32.8% drop over seven days, and SMTY has a market cap in the tens of thousands of dollars according to a price tracker. Its homepage in the data is nearly empty, so we cannot confirm recent development.

How Smoothy works

Most DEXs use many separate pools, each holding a pair of tokens. Smoothy instead puts several assets that track the same value, such as dollar stablecoins, into one pool. Because the tokens are meant to be worth the same, the pool can price swaps between them with very little slippage.

Liquidity providers deposit tokens into the pool and receive LP tokens. They earn from swap fees and, according to the project description, from interest generated on pooled assets. The docs also describe incentives paid on LP tokens, which in the past were paid in SMTY.

The tradeoff is concentration of risk. All assets share one pool, so if one stablecoin loses its peg, the pool can be drained of the healthy assets and LPs bear the loss.

6 features

Key features

01

Single-pool design

All supported tokens sit in one pool rather than in separate pairs. This is designed for assets that should trade near the same value.

02

Zero-slippage swaps

Because assets are treated as equivalent, swaps are designed to avoid the price impact seen in typical constant-product pools for same-backed assets.

03

Gas fee optimization

Project documentation lists gas fee optimization as a design topic, aimed at keeping swap costs low.

04

Flexible token list

Docs reference the ability to add or remove tokens from the pool, which allows the supported asset set to change over time.

05

Interest earning for LPs

The protocol aims to maximize interest earned by liquidity providers and has documented how LP token incentives are structured.

06

SMTY governance token

SMTY is described as the governance token, used for decentralized governance and incentives.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Clear, narrow purpose: swapping between assets that track the same value
  • Single-pool design can offer low slippage on like-for-like swaps
  • Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
  • Documentation covers swap math, parameters and LP incentives
  • Available on both Ethereum and BNB Chain per DefiLlama

Watch out for

  • TVL is only about $180,000 per DefiLlama, so liquidity is thin for anything beyond small swaps
  • TVL fell 32.8% over the past seven days
  • Its homepage is essentially empty, so current activity and maintenance are hard to confirm
  • Single-pool design works only for assets that track the same underlying value; a depeg in one token can hurt the whole pool
  • Fee levels and current yields are not published publicly
  • The SMTY token has a very small market cap, which means thin trading and high price volatility

Smoothy fees

Swap fees, withdrawal fees and LP yield figures are not published. The project describes its swaps as low-cost, but gives no percentage.

Users would see the actual fee in the swap interface before confirming and in the project documentation. Network gas fees on Ethereum or BNB Chain are separate and depend on congestion.

Is Smoothy safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits, but the auditors and findings are not given publicly. Smoothy is a non-custodial smart-contract protocol, so users keep their tokens in their wallets until they deposit. Deposits are exposed to smart-contract bugs and to depeg risk of any asset in the shared pool.

Low and falling TVL suggests limited usage, and the project does not show recent updates, so maintenance status is unclear. No hacks or incidents are mentioned, but absence from public sources are not proof none occurred. Check the project's official channels before depositing.

6 steps

How to get started with Smoothy

  1. 1

Open the official Smoothy site and confirm the app is live and the contracts match those in the project docs.

  2. 2

Read the audit reports and the docs on Math and Parameters to understand how the pool prices swaps.

  3. 3

Connect a compatible wallet on Ethereum or BNB Chain and check you have enough native token for gas.

  4. 4

Start with a small swap of two supported stablecoins and review the quoted fee and output before signing.

  5. 5

If providing liquidity, check current yields and which tokens are in the pool, then deposit a small amount first.

  6. 6

Monitor pool balances and token pegs, and withdraw if a listed asset begins to lose its peg.

Who Smoothy is for

Smoothy is for experienced DeFi users who understand stablecoin pools, LP tokens and depeg risk, and who want to examine a single-pool design. It is a poor fit for beginners or anyone needing deep liquidity for large swaps.

Smoothy FAQs

What is Smoothy Finance?

Smoothy is a decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol built around one pool of assets that are backed by the same thing, such as stablecoins. It aims to offer low-cost swaps with near-zero slippage and to earn interest on the pooled assets.

Which blockchains does Smoothy run on?

DefiLlama lists Smoothy on Ethereum and BNB Chain. The project does not say whether both deployments are still actively used.

What is the SMTY token for?

SMTY is Smoothy's governance token. A 2021 search result describes it as used for decentralized governance of future projects and for incentives. It is listed on price trackers, but with a very small market cap.

Has Smoothy been audited?

DefiLlama shows two audits listed for Smoothy, but public sources do not name the auditors or give their findings. Readers should find the audit reports and read them directly. An audit does not remove smart-contract risk.

What yields does Smoothy offer?

The project does not give a swap fee or current yield figures. An old social post cited a total APY range of 55.70% to 115.88%, but that is dated and likely reflected token incentives that may no longer apply. Check the app for current rates.

Is Smoothy still worth using in 2026?

It carries real risk. TVL is small, it dropped sharply in the last week, and single-pool designs are exposed to depegs of any listed asset. Only use funds you can afford to lose and confirm the app is live and maintained first.
