Our verdict on Seer
6.0/10Seer suits crypto-literate users who want to trade or create prediction markets on-chain and like Conditional Tokens, ERC20-wrapped outcomes and Kleros arbitration. Its main strength is the flexible market design, with four market types and tokens that can plug into other DeFi tools. The main caveat is that no audits are listed and liquidity is small, at roughly $322,000 in TVL. Start small, read each market's resolution rules, and check local legality first.

What is Seer?
Seer is a decentralized prediction marketplace that describes itself as a next generation way to create, trade and farm predictions. It is listed on DefiLlama in the Prediction Market category on Gnosis and Ethereum, and has been tracked since October 2024.
The protocol lets users create markets on topics like elections, sports, financial markets and event outcomes, and trade shares in the results. It uses the Conditional Tokens framework for outcome tokens and wraps them as ERC20 tokens to ease trading and integration with other DeFi protocols.
The homepage announces an initial airdrop distribution, though DefiLlama lists no token and the terms are not public. TVL is about $322,532, up 1.9% over seven days, so this is a small venue. Do not confuse it with the Seer proteomics company or SEER stock results that appear in web searches.
How Seer works
A prediction market lets people trade on the outcome of a future event. Each possible outcome has a share whose price reflects the crowd's estimated probability. When the event resolves, shares in the correct outcome become redeemable and the others become worthless.
Seer uses the Conditional Tokens framework to create and manage outcome tokens. These are ERC1155 tokens, which Seer wraps into ERC20 tokens so they can be traded more easily and plugged into other DeFi protocols. Markets can be categorical, multi categorical, scalar or multi scalar.
Resolution relies on Reality.eth, where answers to a market's question are submitted. If an answer is disputed, Kleros acts as a decentralized arbiter that applies rules to decide the outcome. The quality of a market therefore depends on how clearly its question is written.

05
Kleros dispute resolution

Pros and cons
What we like
- Four market types cover single-choice, multiple-choice and numeric outcomes
- Wrapping ERC1155 outcome tokens into ERC20 aids trading and DeFi integration
- Disputes go to Kleros, a decentralized arbiter, rather than a central operator
- Anyone can create markets, which allows a wide range of topics
- Documentation, blog and community channels are available
- Non-custodial on-chain design on Gnosis and Ethereum
Watch out for
- No audits are listed on DefiLlama, so smart-contract risk is not independently documented publicly
- Liquidity is small, with about $322,532 in TVL, which can mean wide spreads and thin order depth on many markets
- Resolution depends on Reality.eth answers and Kleros disputes, which can be slow or contested on ambiguous questions
- Licensing, KYC and geographic restrictions are not stated publicly
- The airdrop announcement suggests a future token, but no token is listed and the terms are not public
- Prediction markets on elections or sports may be restricted or regulated in some countries
Seer fees
Seer's trading fees, market-creation fees and any liquidity-provider fees are not stated publicly. Users would see them in the Seer app when creating a market or placing a trade, and in the official documentation.
On-chain activity also means network gas fees on Gnosis or Ethereum, which vary by chain and congestion. The project does not give figures for either.
Is Seer safe?
DefiLlama lists no audits for Seer, and public sources include no audit reports, bug bounty or incident history. Treat smart-contract risk as real and unquantified. Because the protocol is on-chain, users keep custody of their wallets, but funds in markets are exposed to contract and resolution risk.
Resolution risk is a separate concern. Outcomes depend on Reality.eth answers and Kleros rulings, and ambiguous or badly worded questions can lead to disputes or unexpected results. Licensing, KYC and regional restrictions are not stated publicly. Check that prediction markets are legal where you live. This is for adults aged 18 and over, and you should only risk money you can afford to lose. If trading stops being under control, use responsible gambling resources.
6 steps
How to get started with Seer
- 1
Confirm you are on the official Seer site and check the documentation to understand how markets and resolution work.
- 2
Check that prediction markets are legal where you live and that you are 18 or older.
- 3
Set up a self-custody wallet and fund it with the assets and the gas token needed for Gnosis or Ethereum.
- 4
Open the Seer app and browse existing markets, reading the question, resolution rules and liquidity before trading.
- 5
Start with a small position, buy outcome shares and watch how the price moves.
- 6
Only create your own market once you understand the resolution rules and how Reality.eth and Kleros handle disputes.
Who Seer is for
Seer is for experienced crypto users comfortable with self-custody wallets and on-chain trading who want custom or niche prediction markets. It is less suited to beginners who need a regulated, fiat-based venue or to anyone who expects deep liquidity.
Seer FAQs
What is Seer?
Seer is a decentralized prediction marketplace. Users create markets on events, trade outcome shares, and the markets are resolved through Reality.eth with Kleros as the dispute arbiter.
Which blockchains does Seer run on?
DefiLlama lists Seer on Gnosis and Ethereum. Public reporting includes a market page on Gnosis chain (chain ID 100). Other details on chain support are not public.
What types of markets can I create on Seer?
The homepage describes four types: categorical, multi categorical, scalar and multi scalar. Categorical markets pick one outcome from several, while scalar markets resolve to a number within a range.
How are Seer markets resolved?
Seer uses Reality.eth to answer market questions. If an answer is disputed, Kleros acts as a decentralized arbiter that applies a set of rules to decide the correct outcome.
Does Seer have a token?
DefiLlama lists no token for Seer, but the homepage announces an initial airdrop distribution. Terms and eligibility are not public, so check the official announcement before acting.
Is Seer legal and is it the same as other things called Seer?
