Our verdict on OrangeX

6.3/10

OrangeX suits active traders who want spot and perpetual trading, copy trading and earn products on one platform, and who like the idea of zero-fee spot trading and a demo mode. Its main strength is the breadth of products at low advertised costs. The main caveat is trust: public sources show self-reported safeguards, no listed audits and no named licence, so treat it as a custodial venue and limit exposure, especially with 200x leverage.

What is OrangeX?

OrangeX is a centralized crypto exchange. Its homepage describes it as a trading platform for spot trading, perpetual trading, copy trading and earn products, and DefiLlama says it is a trading company registered in the Czech Republic. DefiLlama has tracked it since April 2025 and lists Bitcoin and Ethereum as its chains.

DefiLlama shows about $43.8 million in tracked assets, down 0.2% over seven days. It lists no token and no audits. The product range includes zero-fee spot trading, perpetuals with advertised leverage up to 200x, TradFi markets such as gold, demo trading and a Rewards Hub.

The security section claims a 1000 BTC Protection Fund, proof of reserves at a 1:1 reserve ratio, and cold storage secured with multi-signature, TEE and TSS. These are self-reported claims, and public information here do not establish any licence or independent audit. Users should treat it like any custodial exchange and keep only what they are willing to risk on the platform.

How OrangeX works

OrangeX is a centralized exchange. Users create an account, verify their identity and deposit funds, which the exchange holds in its own wallets. Trades are matched on the exchange's internal order books rather than on a blockchain, and balances are tracked in the exchange's database.

Spot trading means buying or selling actual coins at the current price. Perpetual futures are contracts that track a coin's price with no expiry date, and they let traders use leverage, which multiplies both gains and losses. If the price moves against a leveraged position far enough, the position is liquidated.

The Earn section offers yield products. Simple Earn pays interest on deposited assets, and Dual Asset Earn is a structured product where the payout depends on whether the price hits a target, so principal can end up converted into another asset. Copy trading lets users mirror the positions of other traders.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Zero fees advertised on major spot pairs and on Convert
  • Wide product range: spot, perpetuals, copy trading, demo trading and earn
  • Demo trading mode lets newcomers practise perpetuals without risk
  • Published security claims include a 1000 BTC Protection Fund and proof of reserves
  • Multiple funding routes including crypto, card, bank transfer and fiat via Volet
  • 24/7 customer support and API documentation are offered

Watch out for

  • No third-party audits are listed on DefiLlama, and proof-of-reserves details are not shown on the homepage
  • Custodial model: users depend on the exchange to hold and return their funds
  • Licensing and regulatory status are not stated publicly beyond a Czech Republic registration claim
  • Fee schedule for perpetuals and withdrawals is not shown on the homepage
  • 200x leverage is advertised, which carries a high risk of rapid liquidation
  • Dual Asset Earn is advertised at up to 960% APR, a figure that signals high-risk structured products

OrangeX fees

The homepage advertises zero fees on major spot pairs and on Convert. It also describes fees generally as low, but gives no figures for perpetual maker and taker fees, funding rates or withdrawals.

A Fees page is linked in the support footer, and that is where users should check the current schedule before depositing. Earn APR figures are shown as ranges and promotional, so they should not be taken as guaranteed returns.

Is OrangeX safe?

OrangeX is custodial, so users must trust the exchange with their funds. The homepage claims most funds sit offline in cold wallets with multi-signature, TEE and TSS, a 1000 BTC Protection Fund, and proof of reserves at 1:1 or better. These claims come from the platform itself, and DefiLlama lists zero audits. The project does not mention any past hack or incident, but they also do not name a regulator or licence beyond the Czech registration description.

Users can turn on 2FA and Passkey and should complete KYC as required. High leverage and high-APR structured products are risky even on a well-run exchange. Check that the service is permitted where you live before signing up.

Who OrangeX is for

OrangeX is aimed at active traders who want perpetuals, copy trading and earn products on a centralized platform, and at beginners who want to practise with demo trading first. It is less suited to users who want self-custody, a named regulatory licence or independently audited security.
