Our verdict on mm Finance

5.8/10

MM Finance suits experienced DeFi users who want a low-fee DEX and farming venue on Cronos or Polygon and who accept small-protocol risk. Its main strength is a reported 0.17% swap fee plus farming and staking rewards. The main caveat is the lack of published audits or team details, combined with thin recent trading volume in MMF. Size positions accordingly and verify the site address first.

What is mm Finance?

MM Finance is a decentralized exchange built on Cronos, with a Polygon deployment as well. It describes itself as an automated market maker that offers low trading fees, fee rebates through trade mining, farming and staking. Its token, MMF, is the utility token behind rewards.

The project's own material calls it the first AMM on Cronos and the most popular on Cronos and Polygon. Those are self-descriptions. Third-party token listings show very small recent trading volume for MMF and a price well below one cent, so liquidity may be limited.

The project does not publish audit reports, team names or governance details in the sources reviewed. Treat it as a small, higher-risk DeFi venue rather than a deep, established liquidity hub.

How mm Finance works

MM Finance is an automated market maker. Instead of an order book, it uses liquidity pools, which are smart contracts holding pairs of tokens. When you swap, the contract adjusts prices based on the pool's balance, and a fee on each trade goes to liquidity providers.

Anyone can deposit a token pair into a pool and receive LP tokens as a receipt. Those LP tokens can be staked in farms to earn MMF on top of trading fees, with the reward rate shown as an APR. MMF holders can also stake the token to receive rewards in partner projects' tokens.

The project also describes Protocol Owned Liquidity, where the protocol itself supplies some pool liquidity, and trade mining, which rebates part of the fees paid by active traders. Trades settle from your own wallet, so you keep custody, but you also carry the contract risk.

6 features

Key features

01

Wallet-based token swaps

Swap tokens on Cronos and Polygon directly from your own wallet. The project says it never holds user funds.

02

Trade-mining fee rebates

The project says it offers fee rebates through trade mining, rewarding traders in addition to the low swap fee.

03

LP token farming

Users deposit tokens into liquidity pools, receive LP tokens and stake them to earn MMF. Rewards depend on the pool's APR.

04

MMF staking with partner rewards

Staking MMF earns tokens contributed by partner projects that want exposure on the platform.

05

Protocol Owned Liquidity

The project says it was the first to bring Protocol Owned Liquidity to its DEX, meaning the protocol holds some liquidity itself.

06

Low-cost chains

Running on Cronos and Polygon keeps transaction costs far below Ethereum mainnet, according to the project's own description.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Non-custodial: trades are made from your own wallet.
  • Reported trading fee of 0.17%, with fee rebates through trade mining.
  • Several ways to earn: LP farming, MMF staking and partner-token rewards.
  • Runs on Cronos and Polygon, where gas costs are low compared with Ethereum mainnet.
  • Protocol Owned Liquidity adds a permanent source of pool depth, according to the project.

Watch out for

  • Audits, team and governance details are not published in the sources reviewed, so smart-contract risk can't be assessed.
  • Third-party listings show very small recent trading volume for the MMF token, which suggests thin liquidity.
  • The MMF token trades at a tiny fraction of a cent, so rewards paid in it can lose value quickly.
  • Claims such as 'lowest fees' and 'most popular' are the project's own and are not independently verified.
  • A differently run loan-referral site uses a near-identical name, which creates a risk of confusion or phishing.

mm Finance fees

One third-party listing reports a 0.17% trading fee, which the project describes as the lowest on Cronos. It also says traders can receive fee rebates through trade mining. The project does not publish a full fee table in the sources reviewed.

On top of swap fees, users pay network gas on Cronos or Polygon. Liquidity providers should also account for impermanent loss, which is not a fee but can reduce returns. The swap interface shows the fee and expected price impact before a trade is confirmed.

Is mm Finance safe?

MM Finance is non-custodial, so the main risks sit in its smart contracts and in token and pool risk. The sources reviewed do not mention audits, bug bounties or a named team, so users should look for those themselves before depositing significant funds.

Farming rewards are paid in a low-priced token with thin recent volume, which can make exits costly. Impermanent loss is a further risk for liquidity providers. Also beware of a similarly named loan-referral website that is unrelated to this DEX. Always check the address and token contract before approving transactions. DeFi products are not insured or regulated like bank accounts.

6 steps

How to get started with mm Finance

  1. 1

Confirm you are on the genuine MM Finance DEX address, not the unrelated loan-referral site with a similar name.

  2. 2

Set up a wallet that supports Cronos or Polygon and fund it with the chain's gas token.

  3. 3

Connect the wallet to the DEX and pick the network you want to use.

  4. 4

Make a small test swap and check the fee, price impact and slippage before confirming.

  5. 5

If you want yield, add liquidity to a pool and stake the LP tokens in a farm, reading the APR and impermanent loss risk first.

  6. 6

Revoke unused token approvals in your wallet when you finish.

Who mm Finance is for

MM Finance is for DeFi users already active on Cronos or Polygon who want a low-fee swap venue and are comfortable with yield farming. It is less suited to beginners, large traders who need deep liquidity, or anyone who requires audited contracts and a named team.

Which blockchains does MM Finance support?

The DEX is reported to run on Cronos and Polygon. You need a compatible wallet and a small amount of each chain's gas token.
