Our verdict on Magma
6.2/10Magma Finance suits Sui users who want a concentrated-liquidity DEX and are comfortable with a young, small protocol. Its strengths are the focused AMM design, two listed audits and a growing TVL. The main caveats are shallow liquidity at about $2M, a short track record and unpublished details on fees and token terms. Start with small amounts and read the audits first.

What is Magma?
Magma Finance is a decentralized exchange on the Sui blockchain. DefiLlama files it under DEXs and describes it as an AMM DEX designed for MOVE-based blockchains. DefiLlama has listed it since February 2025.
DefiLlama shows about $1.96M in total value locked, up about 15% over the past seven days, and lists two audits. Public reporting also point to a native token, $MAGMA, and report a large airdrop of 190 million tokens in December 2025. DefiLlama itself shows no token field, so the token details here come from third-party summaries.
This review is based on research, not hands-on use. homepage was not available publicly, so we do not cover fee tiers, pool lists or the app interface.
How Magma works
Magma is an automated market maker. Instead of matching buyers and sellers, it holds tokens in pools. Traders swap against a pool, and the price moves with the pool's balance.
The overview says it uses concentrated liquidity. In this design, liquidity providers choose a price range for their capital instead of spreading it across all prices. This can make trades cheaper for swappers at current prices and increase fee income per dollar for providers. It also means a position can stop earning when the price leaves its range, and providers still face impermanent loss.
The project says it is designed for MOVE-based blockchains, and DefiLlama lists Sui as its chain. The project does not detail other mechanisms in the design, so read the project's documentation for specifics.

Key features
01
AMM DEX on Sui
Magma is described as an AMM DEX, so users swap tokens against on-chain liquidity pools rather than an order book.
02
Concentrated liquidity
Its overview says it combines classic concentrated liquidity with other mechanisms. Concentrated liquidity lets providers focus capital within a chosen price range.
03
MOVE-based focus
The project says it is designed for MOVE-based blockchains, which fits its Sui base.
04
MAGMA token
Public reporting describes $MAGMA as the native token, with an airdrop of 190 million tokens reported in December 2025.
05
Audits listed
DefiLlama lists two audits for the protocol. The auditors are not named publicly.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Focused concentrated-liquidity AMM design on Sui
- Two audits listed on DefiLlama
- TVL rose about 15% over seven days
- Has a native token, MAGMA, with a reported airdrop that may draw users
- Non-custodial DEX model: users swap from their own wallets
Watch out for
- TVL of roughly $2M is small, so liquidity depth and slippage on larger trades may be a concern
- Young protocol: DefiLlama lists it from February 2025, so the track record is short
- Fee tiers, emissions and token incentives are not public, so costs and yields cannot be checked here
- Concentrated liquidity positions need active management and can lose money to impermanent loss
- Single-ecosystem exposure to Sui and MOVE-based chains adds chain-level and smart-contract risk
- Homepage was not available publicly, so product details come from third-party summaries
Magma fees
Fee tiers, protocol fees and liquidity provider reward rates are not published publicly used for this review. Users would normally see swap fees and pool fee tiers in the app's swap and pool screens before confirming a transaction.
On any Sui DEX, you also pay network gas in SUI, and larger trades can lose value to slippage in thin pools. With TVL near $2M, slippage is worth checking before you trade.
Is Magma safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors or give scope or findings. An audit lowers the risk of smart-contract bugs but does not remove it, and DEX liquidity pools have been exploited across DeFi.
As a non-custodial DEX, Magma lets you keep your tokens in your own wallet until you swap or deposit. The main risks are smart-contract bugs, thin liquidity, impermanent loss, token price volatility and fake sites or phishing around airdrops. No hacks or incidents are mentioned publicly, and no regulatory status is given. This is not financial advice.
6 steps
How to get started with Magma
- 1
Open the official Magma Finance site and confirm you are on the correct domain, not a copy.
- 2
Set up a Sui-compatible wallet and keep a small amount of SUI for gas.
- 3
Connect the wallet and review the swap or pool pages, including fee tiers and pool depth.
- 4
Read the two audit reports listed on DefiLlama, if you can find them.
- 5
Start with a small swap to check pricing and slippage before using larger amounts.
- 6
If you provide liquidity, learn how price ranges and impermanent loss work first.
Who Magma is for
Magma is for Sui users who swap tokens or provide liquidity and understand concentrated-liquidity risks such as range management and impermanent loss. It is not for beginners seeking simple, low-risk yield, or for anyone needing deep liquidity for large trades.

DefiLlama lists two audits. The project does not name the auditors or include the reports, so read them before depositing funds.
How much value is locked in Magma?
DefiLlama shows about $1.96M in TVL, up about 15% over seven days. That is modest, so check pool depth before making large trades.
What are Magma's fees?
Fee tiers and reward rates are not public. They would be shown on the app's swap and pool pages, and they may change.
