Blindex Review 2026: Partial-Collateral FX Stablecoins
Blindex is a multi-currency stablecoin platform on Rootstock that issues FX-pegged coins backed by partial collateral and algorithmic stabilization. Its TVL is now very small, and public sources are limited.

Our verdict on Blindex
4.5/10Blindex suits experienced DeFi users curious about FX-pegged stablecoins on Rootstock and willing to accept high risk. Its main strength is the multi-currency concept, with partial collateral and algorithmic stabilization. The main caveat is scale: TVL is about $11.6k, the homepage could not be checked, and fees and parameters are unpublished. Verify its current status and read the documentation before depositing anything.

What is Blindex?
Blindex is a multi-currency stablecoin DeFi platform on Rootstock (RSK). Its stated aim is to let users mint, swap, trade, invest in and redeem coins pegged to different foreign currencies. DefiLlama files it under algo-stables and says all coins are partially collateralized, algorithmically stabilized and decentralized.
The project was covered in a Rootstock blog post in March 2022 as a currency-blind platform, and DefiLlama has tracked it since March 2022. Its token is BDX, and two audits are listed on DefiLlama, though no details are given.
Current TVL is about $11,576, with a 1.0% seven-day change. That is very small for a stablecoin system, which relies on liquidity and trust. The homepage could not be fetched for this review, so current product details are unverified.
How Blindex works
Blindex issues stablecoins pegged to different fiat currencies. A user deposits collateral and, depending on the design, the BDX token, to mint a pegged coin. This is the fractional or partially collateralized model: part of the value is backed by assets and part is supported by the algorithmic mechanism and the protocol token.
To keep a peg, the system adjusts how much collateral and BDX are needed as market prices move. Users can redeem a stablecoin for its underlying value, and arbitrage between minting, redeeming and market prices is meant to pull the price back to its target.
The platform also offers swaps and an invest function. Specific parameters, such as collateral ratios and which currencies are supported, are not public and should be checked in the documentation.
6 features
Key features
01
Multi-currency stablecoins
Users can mint stablecoins pegged to FX currencies, not only the US dollar. The project describes itself as currency-blind.
02
Partial collateralization
Per DefiLlama, coins are partially backed by collateral while an algorithmic mechanism helps hold the peg.
03
Swap and redeem
The platform lets users swap and trade between its pegged assets, and redeem coins back for underlying value.
04
Invest option
The platform describes an invest function alongside minting and swapping. Details of the yield mechanism are not public.
05
Rootstock deployment
Blindex is deployed on Rootstock, linking it to the Bitcoin ecosystem. DefiLlama lists no other chains.
06
Listed audits
DefiLlama shows two audits for the project. Auditor names and findings are not public.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Targets FX-pegged stablecoins beyond the USD, a niche most stablecoin projects skip
- Runs on Rootstock, adding a stablecoin option in the Bitcoin-linked ecosystem
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
- Has been tracked on DefiLlama since March 2022
- Has its own token, BDX, tied to the protocol design
Watch out for
- TVL is only about $11.6k, so liquidity for minting, swapping and redeeming is likely very thin
- Partially algorithmic stablecoins depend on market confidence and have a mixed record across DeFi
- Runs on a single chain, Rootstock, which limits access and integrations
- The homepage could not be fetched, so current product status and documentation are unverified
- Fee levels, collateral ratios and supported pairs are not published
Blindex fees
Fees are not published publicly available. Mint, redeem and swap fees, and any protocol fee on BDX holders, would normally be shown in the Blindex app or documentation.
Users also pay network gas on Rootstock. Check the current fee schedule inside the app before transacting, since low liquidity can also widen effective costs through slippage.
Is Blindex safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the auditors, scope and findings are not public. An audit lowers code risk but does not remove smart-contract risk, and it does not address stablecoin design risk. Partially algorithmic stablecoins can lose their peg if confidence or collateral falls.
With TVL near $11.6k, thin liquidity can make swaps and redemptions costly or difficult. No incidents are mentioned publicly, but the homepage could not be checked. Users should self-custody carefully and verify contract addresses through official channels.
5 steps
How to get started with Blindex
- 1
Confirm the project's current status through its official X account and the Rootstock ecosystem listing.
- 2
Read the documentation on collateral ratios, redemption rules and the BDX token before depositing.
- 3
Set up a wallet that supports Rootstock and fund it with RBTC for gas.
- 4
Start with a very small amount to check mint, swap and redeem behavior and fees.
- 5
Monitor each coin's peg and collateral ratio, and only commit funds you can afford to lose.
Who Blindex is for
Blindex is for experienced DeFi users interested in non-USD stablecoins and the Rootstock ecosystem who understand the risks of partially algorithmic designs. It is not a fit for anyone who needs deep liquidity or a stablecoin they can hold with low risk.
Blindex FAQs
What is Blindex?
Blindex is a stablecoin DeFi platform on Rootstock (RSK). It lets users mint, swap, trade, invest in and redeem coins pegged to foreign currencies. DefiLlama describes the coins as partially collateralized and algorithmically stabilized.
What is the BDX token?
BDX is the platform's token, according to DefiLlama. the public information available here do not describe its exact utility, supply or distribution, so check the project's own documentation for those details.
Which blockchain does Blindex use?
It runs on Rootstock (RSK), a Bitcoin-linked smart contract chain. No other chains are listed publicly.
Is Blindex safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors or give results. Partially algorithmic stablecoins carry design risk beyond code audits, and TVL is very low, so treat it as high risk.
Is Blindex still active?
The homepage could not be fetched and the latest activity is dated 2022 press coverage, though DefiLlama still shows a small TVL. Confirm the current status with the project's official channels before using it.
