Our verdict on B2 Buzz

6.0/10

B2 Buzz suits crypto users who already hold BTC or major assets and want exposure to B² Network's token through a gamified staking and mining mechanic. Its strength is notable TVL of about $63M and a clear link to a larger Bitcoin Layer 2 ecosystem. The main caveats are the missing audit information, unpublished fee and lock terms, and rewards paid in a volatile token. Confirm that the event is still open before depositing, and keep position sizes small.

What is B2 Buzz?

B2 Buzz was launched by B² Network, which calls itself a Bitcoin Layer 2 and extension network. It is a staking event: users deposit major assets from Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon and receive Parts used to assemble Mining Rigs that mine B² tokens.

DefiLlama lists it under Canonical Bridge on Bitcoin, with about $63.4M TVL, a 7-day change of -0.6%, and a listing date of 18 February 2024. No audits are listed there.

The B² homepage places Buzz under Explore for users, next to B2 token staking, Honey and BlockHeadz, and Mining Squared for miners. It claims 5,000+ BTC attracted and 580,000 users earning 3–10% annually across its mining and DeFi platform. Those are the project's own figures and are not independently verified here.

How B2 Buzz works

A user deposits supported assets, such as BTC, ETH or assets on BNB Chain and Polygon, into the Buzz event. In return the user receives Parts. DefiLlama tracks the deposited value as TVL and files the product under Canonical Bridge because assets are locked and then represented on B² Network.

Parts are then used to assemble Mining Rigs. These rigs are employed to mine B² native tokens, so the reward is B2 rather than the deposited asset. The project does not state emission schedules, rig tiers or how rewards are calculated.

B² Network describes itself as a Bitcoin Layer 2 and Layer 1.5, using ZK-proofs and Taproot. Buzz acts as an entry point to that ecosystem by pulling in BTC and other assets and distributing the network's token.

5 features

Key features

01

Multi-chain deposits

Users can deposit major assets from Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon, according to the DefiLlama description.

02

Parts and Mining Rigs

Deposits earn Parts, which are collected to assemble Mining Rigs. This gamified step sits between your deposit and your rewards.

03

B2 token mining

Mining Rigs are employed to mine B² native tokens, so the reward is the project's own token rather than BTC.

04

Part of B² ecosystem

The homepage places Buzz alongside Mining Squared, B2 token staking, Honey and BlockHeadz as part of the user-facing ecosystem.

05

Sizable TVL

DefiLlama shows about $63.4M in TVL for Buzz on Bitcoin, with a small 7-day change of -0.6%.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Sizable TVL of about $63.4M on DefiLlama, showing real deposits.
  • Accepts assets from four networks: Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon.
  • Part of a broader B² ecosystem with its own token (B2), staking and a Bitcoin Layer 2.
  • Stable recent TVL, with only a -0.6% 7-day change.
  • The homepage names backers such as HashKey, OKX Ventures, IDG, Spartan and Animoca, per quoted social posts.

Watch out for

  • DefiLlama lists no audits for the product, and the project does not describe any audit of the Buzz contracts.
  • The mechanism is indirect: deposits become Parts, then Mining Rigs, then B2 token rewards, so returns depend on B2 token price and emission rules the project does not spell out.
  • DefiLlama files it as a Canonical Bridge, but the description reads like a time-limited staking event, so it is unclear whether new deposits are still open.
  • Homepage figures (TVL, users, BTC attracted, 3–10% annual returns) are self-reported and do not match the Buzz-specific TVL on DefiLlama.
  • B2 trades around $0.39 to $0.45 in the cited results with notable daily swings, so token-denominated rewards can lose value quickly.
  • Fees, lock-up terms and withdrawal conditions for Buzz are not stated publicly.

B2 Buzz fees

Fees for B2 Buzz are not published publicly. DefiLlama gives no fee data for the product, and its homepage does not list deposit or withdrawal costs for Buzz.

Social posts quoted on the homepage say that B2 token staking, a separate product, charges no fee to stake or unstake and has a 1-day cooldown. Do not assume the same applies to Buzz. Network fees on the origin chain (Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain or Polygon) would normally apply when depositing, and users should check the Buzz interface before confirming.

Is B2 Buzz safe?

DefiLlama lists zero audits for B2 Buzz, and the project does not describe the custody or contract design. Depositing means trusting smart contracts and the bridging or locking mechanism that moves assets into B² Network. Bridges and staking contracts have been frequent targets of exploits across crypto.

Public sources mention no hacks or incidents. The homepage says the U2 stablecoin has top-tier audits, but that applies to a different product. Rewards in B2 carry price risk, since cited market pages show daily moves of several percent. Never deposit more than you can afford to lose.

6 steps

How to get started with B2 Buzz

  1. 1

Open the official B² Network site and find Buzz under the Explore menu.

  2. 2

Confirm that Buzz is still accepting deposits and read its current terms, lock-up and withdrawal rules.

  3. 3

Check that online staking and crypto products are legal where you live.

  4. 4

Connect a compatible wallet for the chain you want to deposit from: Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain or Polygon.

  5. 5

Start with a small deposit and check how many Parts it earns.

  6. 6

Use Parts to assemble Mining Rigs and track B2 token rewards, watching the token price.

Who B2 Buzz is for

B2 Buzz is for experienced crypto users comfortable with smart-contract risk who want B2 token rewards on deposited BTC, ETH or similar assets. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs guaranteed returns, audited custody or clear fee disclosure.

B2 Buzz FAQs

What is B2 Buzz?

B2 Buzz is a staking event launched by B² Network, a Bitcoin Layer 2 project. Users deposit major crypto assets and receive Parts, which are used to assemble Mining Rigs that mine B2 native tokens.

Which assets can you deposit into B2 Buzz?

The DefiLlama description says deposits can come from Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon. The exact list of eligible assets and any limits are not given publicly.

What are Parts and Mining Rigs?

Parts are the units a user receives for depositing assets. They are combined to assemble Mining Rigs, which are then used to mine B² native tokens. How many Parts a deposit earns is not published publicly.

Does B2 Buzz charge fees or lock funds?

The project does not give Buzz fees or lock terms. Social posts quoted on the homepage say the separate B2 token staking has no fees and a 1-day unstake cooldown, but that is a different product. Check the Buzz interface for its own terms.

Is B2 Buzz safe?

DefiLlama lists no audits for the product, and the project does not show any. Risks include smart-contract bugs, bridge or custody risk when moving assets, and B2 price volatility. Treat it as high risk and only commit funds you can afford to lose.

What token does B2 Buzz reward?

B2 is the native token of B² Network. Buzz rewards are described as B² native tokens mined by Mining Rigs, so earnings are tied to B2's price. Cited market pages show the price around $0.39 to $0.45.
