ActiveAlvara Review 2026: ERC-7621 Onchain Basket Tokens
Alvara is a protocol for creating and trading onchain baskets of ERC-20 tokens, called BSKTs, on Ethereum and Base. It is permissionless and audited by several firms, but its tracked TVL is still very small.

Our verdict on Alvara
6.8/10Alvara suits crypto users who want to build or hold diversified token baskets onchain without writing code, and who are comfortable with DeFi risk. Its main strength is a simple, permissionless basket model with a low stated 0.25% fee, several audits and per-basket risk ratings. The main caveat is scale: tracked TVL is under $10,000, the standard is still a draft, and baskets carry market and manager risk. Treat it as early-stage infrastructure.

What is Alvara?
Alvara is an onchain fund-management protocol built around ERC-7621, a basket token standard it has submitted as a draft Ethereum Improvement Proposal. A basket, called a BSKT, bundles multiple ERC-20 tokens under one manager-defined strategy. The project is developed by the Alvara Foundation and runs on Ethereum and Base.
The homepage reports more than 140 BSKTs created and more than 500 managers and contributors. Alvara lists GDA International, Alpha Transform Holdings and Spirit Blockchain as backers. Tracking data lists it under yield aggregators with a TVL of about $9,973, so live capital in the baskets appears small.
The protocol also has a native token, ALVA, with a 200M maximum supply. It is used for governance through veALVA and for directing emissions to baskets. Solana and Tron support are on the roadmap but not yet live.
How Alvara works
Alvara lets a user create a basket of ERC-20 tokens as a single onchain product. A manager selects the assets and their weights, names the basket, and funds it with an initial contribution. The basket is represented by an ERC-7621 token, which is built on ERC-721 and holds the underlying assets.
Investors put funds into a basket and receive ERC-20 LP shares in return. Because these are ordinary ERC-20 tokens, they can be traded on any DEX. Managers can rebalance by changing tokens and weights onchain, with swaps routed through 1inch, and they earn a configurable management fee based on TVL.
On top of this sits the ALVA token. Holders stake it to receive non-transferable veALVA, which is used to vote in the DAO and to direct ALVA rewards to specific baskets through gauge voting. A share of protocol fees is set aside to buy ALVA on the open market.

Key features
01
No-code basket creation
Pick tokens and set weights manually or start from templates such as Blue Chip, DeFi, AI, Gaming and Layer 2. Deployment happens in a single transaction.
02
Tradable LP shares
Investors receive ERC-20 LP shares that can be traded on any DEX and used with other DeFi infrastructure.
03
Automated management fees
Managers earn a configurable percentage of TVL through a fee mechanism that runs at the protocol level, without off-chain payments.
04
Onchain rebalancing
Managers can add or remove assets and change weights in one transaction, with swaps routed through 1inch.
05
Xerberus risk ratings
Each basket gets a rating from AAA to D based on onchain transaction data, with per-token breakdowns.
06
Manager leaderboard and verification
Managers are ranked by AUM and track record, and can verify identity through X and Gitcoin Passport.
07
Gauge weight voting
veALVA holders vote every epoch to steer ALVA rewards toward chosen baskets, which sets each basket's share of emissions.
08
Real-time analytics
Candlestick charts with 13 technical indicators such as SMA, MACD, RSI and Bollinger Bands for each basket.
Pros and cons
What we like
- No-code, permissionless basket creation with a stated minimum seed of 0.1 ETH.
- Investors hold ERC-20 LP shares that trade on any DEX.
- Audits listed from four firms: CertiK, QuillAudits, Adevar Labs and SolidProof.
- Per-basket Xerberus risk ratings and manager verification give some transparency.
- Low stated platform fee of 0.25%, and free withdrawals.
- Live on both Ethereum and Base, with templates for quick starts.
Watch out for
- Reported TVL is very small, under $10,000 on the tracker, which suggests little capital is actually deployed.
- ERC-7621 is still a draft Ethereum Improvement Proposal, so the standard could change and may not gain wide adoption.
- Basket name, logo, ticker and description cannot be changed after creation, so mistakes are permanent.
- Permissionless creation means anyone can launch a basket, so quality and manager honesty vary widely.
- Value depends on token prices, DEX liquidity and slippage when swapping into and out of baskets, and baskets can lose value.
- The ALVA token has a heavy emissions component (44% for BSKT incentives), and the team does not publish vesting details on the homepage.
Alvara fees
The homepage states a 0.25% platform fee to create or contribute to a BSKT, and says withdrawals are free. Managers can configure their own management fee as a percentage of TVL at deployment, and each basket's cost breakdown is shown before minting.
Network gas fees and swap slippage when the basket buys or sells its underlying tokens are not quoted in advance by the project. The exact range of manager fees is not published on the homepage.
Is Alvara safe?
The homepage says the protocol was audited by CertiK, QuillAudits, Adevar Labs and SolidProof. Tracking data lists no audits, so users should read the actual reports. Smart-contract risk remains, as baskets hold real assets and rely on external DEX liquidity and 1inch routing.
Baskets are permissionless, so a basket's safety depends on its tokens and manager. Xerberus ratings from AAA to D and manager identity checks help, but they are not guarantees. ERC-7621 is still a draft standard. The project does not publish team names on the homepage. Crypto assets are volatile and losses are possible.
6 steps
How to get started with Alvara
- 1
Connect a wallet that holds ETH on Ethereum or Base.
- 2
Open the app and browse the BSKT list, checking the manager, composition and Xerberus rating.
- 3
To invest, contribute to an existing basket and review the cost breakdown, including the 0.25% platform fee.
- 4
To create your own, compose tokens and weights or choose a template, then add a name, logo, ticker and strategy description.
- 5
Fund the basket with at least 0.1 ETH of seed capital and deploy it in one transaction.
- 6
Optionally stake ALVA for veALVA to vote on gauge weights and DAO proposals.
Who Alvara is for
Alvara is for DeFi users who want to launch a themed token portfolio and earn management fees, or who want exposure to a managed basket via a single ERC-20 share. It also suits people interested in ERC-7621 and ALVA governance. It is less suited to those who want established, deeply funded products.
Alvara FAQs
What is a BSKT on Alvara?
A BSKT is an onchain basket of ERC-20 assets built on the ERC-7621 standard. A manager picks tokens and weights, and investors who contribute receive ERC-20 LP shares that represent a claim on the basket.
Which blockchains does Alvara support?
Alvara lists Ethereum and Base as live. Solana is listed for Q2 2026 and Tron for Q3 2026. The ALVA token itself exists on Ethereum, Avalanche and Base.
What fees does Alvara charge?
The homepage states a 0.25% platform fee to create or contribute to a BSKT, and says withdrawals are free. Managers can also set a management fee, and network gas and swap costs apply.
Can anyone create a basket?
Anyone can create one. There are no applications or track record requirements, and the minimum seed capital is stated as 0.1 ETH. No coding is needed.
Is Alvara audited?
The homepage says it has been audited by CertiK, QuillAudits, Adevar Labs and SolidProof. Audits reduce but do not remove smart-contract risk, and the audit reports themselves are not reproduced on the homepage.
What does the ALVA token do?
ALVA is the protocol token with a 200M maximum supply. Staking it gives non-transferable veALVA, which is used for DAO votes and for gauge voting that directs ALVA rewards to specific baskets.
