## What is Zclassic?
Zclassic (ZCL) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency and a fork of Zcash. It uses Zcash-derived technology and is intended to support privacy-focused transactions. ZCL runs on its own blockchain; it is not simply a token issued on Ethereum or another host network.
Zclassic’s central design difference from Zcash is its approach to mining rewards. Its protocol was designed without Zcash’s 20% Founder’s Reward and without a slow-start period. The project describes this as a way to let miners receive the full block reward and leave development support to the community rather than directing a fixed share to a specific group.
ZCL is therefore mainly a coin for transactions and mining on the Zclassic network. It is not a share in a company, and holding it does not by itself grant governance rights, a claim on revenue, or access to a particular dApp. Although some listings classify it among smart-contract platforms, that label alone does not establish what applications or contract features its network currently supports.
## What is ZCL used for?
ZCL’s main uses are sending value on the Zclassic blockchain and participating in its proof-of-work system. The chain uses Equihash, a hashing algorithm also associated with Zcash-derived networks. Miners contribute computing work to help validate blocks and, under the protocol’s reward rules, earn newly issued coins.
Zclassic is also presented as a privacy coin. Its technology is derived from Zcash, which is designed to support privacy-protecting transactions. The privacy a user gets depends on the transaction method and the tools involved; sending ZCL does not automatically mean every payment is private or untraceable. Users should check how their wallet handles transaction types and what information may still be visible.
ZCL is not a general-purpose gas token for unrelated networks, based on the public information available here. Before using it for a payment or mining, confirm that the wallet, service, and recipient support Zclassic’s own network. A similarly named asset on another chain, if encountered, should not be assumed to be interchangeable with native ZCL.
## ZCL supply and market context
As of 2026-11-05, Zclassic’s reported circulating supply was about 10.34 million ZCL, with total supply around 10.41 million and a stated maximum of about 11.46 million. These figures describe different supply measures: circulating supply estimates coins available in the market, while total supply includes coins counted by the supply methodology even if they are not circulating. The maximum is a stated cap, not a guarantee of market value or demand.
On that date, ZCL traded at about $0.39, with a market capitalization around $4.0 million and 24-hour trading volume around $754. These are approximate snapshots, not fixed values. The low reported trading volume can make it harder to buy or sell at a desired price, and quoted prices may vary between venues.
The token’s original design removes a designated founder reward, but that does not ensure that development will be funded or that miners will remain active. Mining rewards, network participation, and market liquidity can change over time. Supply figures and market measures should be rechecked before making any decision involving ZCL.
## Zclassic’s blockchain and consensus
Zclassic is a separate blockchain based on Zcash code, rather than a token deployed on a collection of other chains. Its consensus and mining algorithm are described as Equihash proof of work. This means the network’s security depends in part on miners doing the work required to produce and validate blocks, as well as on the continued operation and maintenance of the software and network.
The project’s stated design aims to remain technologically similar to Zcash while removing the Founder’s Reward and slow start. That description explains the project’s original choices; it should not be read as proof that Zclassic has the same development resources, adoption, security, or ongoing maintenance as Zcash. A fork can share code and still develop different risks as its community and mining participation change.
For transfers, use the Zclassic network specifically and check the destination address and network selection carefully. Sending ZCL through an incompatible network or to an unsupported address can result in lost funds. Confirm current network support with the wallet or service you plan to use before transferring.
## Risks and storage
ZCL carries the risks of a small, proof-of-work cryptocurrency. Low trading volume can increase slippage and make it difficult to exit a position, while changes in mining participation or software maintenance may affect confidence in the network. Privacy features can also be misunderstood: users should not assume that every transaction is private, or that using privacy technology removes all traceability or legal obligations. No price history or supply limit can guarantee future performance.
For storage, choose a wallet that explicitly supports native ZCL on the Zclassic network. Check that it supports the transaction features you intend to use, and keep recovery information offline and private. Never share a seed phrase or private key with a person or website claiming to provide support. For exchange custody, confirm that deposits and withdrawals are available on the correct network before sending funds.
ZCL is volatile and may be unsuitable for someone who cannot tolerate losing the amount committed. This information is educational, not a recommendation to buy or sell.
By the numbers
Zclassic in numbers
Zclassic (ZCL) is ranked #1,815 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $4.10M and a price of $0.3964 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($4.13M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 7.0% over 7 days, down 54.9% over 30 days, down 66.8% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $230.95, set on Jan 6, 2018.
About 10.34M ZCL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 11.46M (90% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $875, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
CoinGecko groups ZCL under Layer 1 tokens, Privacy coins.

ZCL FAQs
What is ZCL?
ZCL is the native coin of the Zclassic blockchain, a proof-of-work network derived from Zcash. It is not simply an asset issued on Ethereum or another host chain.
How does Zclassic work?
Zclassic uses Equihash proof of work, and its design removes Zcash’s 20% Founder’s Reward and slow-start period. Miners help validate blocks and earn protocol rewards.
Is Zclassic a privacy coin?
Zclassic is designed as a privacy-focused cryptocurrency using Zcash-derived technology. Whether a particular transfer is private depends on the transaction method and wallet; users should not assume every payment is shielded.
How many ZCL coins are there?
As of 2026-11-05, the reported circulating supply was about 10.34 million ZCL, with a stated maximum of about 11.46 million. Supply measures can change or be reported differently, so check current figures before relying on them.
How can I store ZCL?
Use a wallet that explicitly supports ZCL on the Zclassic network. Confirm network compatibility before depositing or withdrawing, and protect your seed phrase and private keys from disclosure.
What is the market cap of Zclassic?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Zclassic had a market cap of about $4.10M, ranking #1,815 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of ZCL?
Zclassic's all-time high is $230.95, reached on Jan 6, 2018. Its all-time low is $0.005365 (Aug 31, 2025). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of ZCL?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 10.34M ZCL were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 11.46M.
