## What is Vara Network?
Vara Network is a standalone Layer 1 smart-contract platform built with Substrate and described as the first standalone network in Gear Protocol. It is designed for Web3 applications, with a focus on WebAssembly (Wasm), asynchronous programming and parallel execution. Its development model draws on the actor model, in which independent software components communicate with one another, and persistent memory, which lets programs retain state between operations. These ideas are intended to support dApps and more complex on-chain services, though actual performance and adoption depend on how developers use the network. VARA is the network’s native token. It is distinct from the applications and other tokens that may be built on Vara: holding VARA does not automatically grant access to a particular dApp or guarantee governance rights beyond those defined by the protocol.
## What is VARA used for?
VARA is described as serving several network functions: paying transaction fees, supporting staking and network security, participating in governance, and funding gas pools. Gas is the resource used to account for computation when transactions and smart contracts run. Staking generally involves committing tokens under network rules, but the precise requirements, rewards and risks depend on Vara’s current protocol design; rewards are not guaranteed. Governance use can also depend on the active voting mechanisms and eligibility rules. These functions connect the token to network activity, but they do not ensure that demand will rise or that the token will retain value. Before using VARA in a dApp or staking interface, check that the service supports the Vara network and understand any lockups, fees, slashing conditions or other terms it displays.
## VARA supply and market context
The reported circulating supply is about 5.73 billion VARA, out of a total supply of about 10.00 billion. No maximum supply is specified, so a fixed cap should not be assumed. As of 2026-11-05, VARA was priced at about $0.00045, with a market capitalization of about $2.6 million and a fully diluted valuation of about $4.5 million. These are time-sensitive estimates, not forecasts, and can change quickly. The difference between circulating and total supply is relevant when assessing dilution: tokens outside circulation may enter circulation over time, depending on the project’s distribution and release rules. Check current token information and supply disclosures before relying on these figures. Past price movements, including large declines, do not indicate what the token will do next.
## Chains, storage and risks
VARA is the native token of Vara Network. Public sources identify Vara as its native network and does not list other chains where the token is issued. A bridge or third-party representation may exist, but that should not be treated as proof that a token on another network is the native VARA; verify the network and token contract through an official source before transferring funds. Store VARA in a wallet that explicitly supports Vara, and confirm the selected network before sending. Keep recovery phrases and private keys offline and never share them with a website, support agent or dApp. Risks include price volatility, changes in token supply, smart-contract or bridge vulnerabilities, validator or network failures, and limited liquidity. A network’s technical design does not remove these risks, and transactions may be difficult or impossible to reverse.
By the numbers
Vara Network in numbers
Vara Network (VARA) is ranked #2,244 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.35M and a price of $0.0004106 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $4.11M, so roughly 57% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 4.7% over 7 days, down 29.9% over 30 days, down 74.5% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $0.2701, set on Sep 20, 2023.
About 5.73B VARA are in circulation, from a total supply of 10B. No hard maximum supply is listed.
24-hour trading volume was about $32.8K, or 1.4% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
VARA is the native token of Vara. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

VARA FAQs
What is the VARA token?
VARA is the native token of Vara Network. It is described as supporting transaction fees, staking, governance, gas pools and network security.
What is the supply of VARA?
The reported circulating supply is about 5.73 billion VARA, with a total supply of about 10.00 billion. No maximum supply is specified.
Which blockchain is VARA on?
Vara is listed as VARA’s native network. Public sources do not identify other chains where VARA is issued, so verify any bridged or wrapped version before transferring it.
How can I store VARA?
Use a wallet that explicitly supports Vara and check the selected network before sending. Keep your recovery phrase private and offline, and verify any dApp or staking terms before connecting.
