What USDa is
USDa is a stablecoin issued by Avalon Labs, a project that describes itself as building an on-chain financial center for Bitcoin. Avalon's product range, as the project describes it, includes BTC-backed lending, a Bitcoin-backed stablecoin, yield accounts and a credit card. USDa is the stablecoin part of that range.
According to the project, USDa is its flagship CDP (collateralized debt position) product, built on Avalon's CeDeFi lending platform. In a CDP system, a user locks collateral, here mainly Bitcoin-linked assets, and borrows a stablecoin against it. The loan is meant to stay overcollateralized, so the collateral is worth more than the debt. CeDeFi is a label for hybrid designs that combine on-chain smart contracts with some centralized operations, so it is worth reading the project's documentation to see which parts are which.
The stated goal is a stablecoin with high capital efficiency, stability and deep liquidity that draws on the Bitcoin holder community. The token is meant to track one US dollar. At the time of writing it was trading slightly below that, as covered in the risks section.
The name causes some confusion. Other tokens use the ticker USDA, including a separate stablecoin discussed in the context of Cardano. This page covers only Avalon Labs' USDa.
What USDa is used for
The main use of USDa is to serve as a dollar-denominated unit that Bitcoin holders can borrow without selling their BTC. A borrower deposits collateral, mints USDa against it, and can then spend, trade or deploy that USDa elsewhere. The project says it aims to make Bitcoin an active economic asset rather than something that simply sits in a wallet.
Because USDa is an ordinary token on several chains, it can in principle be used like other stablecoins. That includes trading pairs on decentralized exchanges, providing liquidity, lending and borrowing in DeFi protocols, and moving value between wallets. Third-party descriptions position it as a building block for trading, lending, borrowing and payments, but how widely it is accepted in each of those areas varies and changes over time.
Avalon also offers yield accounts, so some holders may use USDa to earn a return. Yield rates, eligibility and terms are set by the platform and can change, and any yield carries risk beyond simply holding the token. Check the current terms inside the product before relying on any figure you see quoted elsewhere.
the public information available here do not describe a governance or fee role for USDa itself, so treat it as a stablecoin and not as a voting or utility token.
Supply and tokenomics
USDa has no fixed maximum supply, which is normal for a CDP stablecoin. New units are created when users borrow against collateral and are removed when loans are repaid or liquidated, so the supply rises and falls with borrowing demand.
As of 2026-08-14, the circulating supply was about 97.76 million USDa, with a total supply of about 97.76 million, essentially the same figure. At a price of about $0.967, that gives a market capitalization of roughly $94.5 million, and the fully diluted value is the same because the circulating and total supplies match. On that date the token ranked around 288 by market cap among tracked assets. Figures for 24-hour trading volume were not available in the data used for this page.
There is no team allocation, vesting schedule or emissions program to describe here, because USDa is a minted stablecoin and not a token distributed through a launch. Details such as the collateral types accepted, minimum collateral ratios, liquidation penalties and any stability fees are set by Avalon's protocol and are best checked in its official documentation. This page does not state them, since they are not part of public data.
Chains and how it is held and traded
According to the data used for this page, USDa is issued on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Mantle. It is not the native token of any blockchain, so you need the chain's own coin, such as ETH on Ethereum, BNB on BNB Chain or MNT on Mantle, to pay transaction fees when moving it.
In general terms, there are two ways people hold and trade it. The first is through a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant network. Once you add the correct token contract, you can send, receive and swap USDa on decentralized exchanges. The second is through any centralized exchange that chooses to list it, though availability differs by platform and region and can change.
Because the same ticker is used by other tokens, always confirm the contract address on the specific chain before buying or sending. Get the address from Avalon's official channels rather than from a search result, a message or a social post. A token with the same name on a different chain, or a counterfeit with a similar name, will not hold the same value.
Bridging between chains adds another layer of risk, since bridges are smart contracts that have been exploited in the past across the industry. Using the chain where you actually intend to use the token avoids that step.
History and notable events
The launch date is not given in the data used for this page, so it is left out here. Avalon Labs has presented USDa as a Bitcoin-collateralized stablecoin and, in its own materials and some third-party write-ups, as one of the larger CDP-style stablecoin projects by size. Treat that kind of ranking claim as the project's positioning, not as something this page has verified.
The price record shows two notable points. The all-time high was about $1.021 on 2025-01-13, which is a small premium to the dollar. The all-time low was about $0.359 on 2026-08-10, only four days before the date of this snapshot. That is a very large drop for something meant to hold one dollar. By 2026-08-14 the price had recovered to about $0.967, still under the peg, and the seven-day change was about -1.9 percent.
the public information available do not explain what caused the low, and this page does not guess. It could reflect a genuine depeg event, thin liquidity, a data-feed glitch on a single venue, or something else. Anyone considering USDa should look at Avalon's official announcements and recent on-chain activity to understand what happened. A one-year price change is not available because the data lacks a comparison point.
Risks
The most visible risk is peg stability. A stablecoin that trades at about $0.97 after a recorded low near $0.36 within the same week has shown that it can move well away from one dollar. Holders should not assume it will always be redeemable or tradable at par.
Other risks apply to this design:
- Collateral risk. USDa depends on Bitcoin-linked collateral. A sharp fall in Bitcoin's price can trigger liquidations, and if liquidations are slow or markets are thin, the system can be left with bad debt.
- Hybrid model risk. A CeDeFi structure can involve centralized custody or operational steps. That adds counterparty risk on top of smart contract risk.
- Smart contract risk. Bugs or exploits in the protocol, its oracles or any bridge can cause losses even when the collateral is sound.
- Liquidity risk. At a market cap of roughly $94.5 million, there may be limited depth on some venues, which can lead to slippage on larger trades.
- Regulatory risk. Stablecoins and lending products face evolving rules that differ by country.
- Name confusion. Other tokens share the USDA ticker, which raises the risk of buying or sending the wrong asset.
This page is not financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell.
How to store it safely
Storing USDa safely starts with where you keep the keys. A self-custody wallet, ideally a hardware wallet for larger amounts, means no exchange or platform can freeze or lose your balance. Write down your recovery phrase offline, never photograph it or type it into a website, and never share it with anyone, including people claiming to be support staff.
Before sending, check three things. Confirm the network, since the same wallet address can exist on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Mantle but a token sent on the wrong chain may be hard or impossible to recover. Confirm the token contract address against Avalon's official sources. Send a small test transaction first if the amount is meaningful.
Keep a small balance of the chain's native coin for fees so you can move or swap your USDa when you need to. Be careful with token approvals: when you interact with a decentralized app, you may grant it permission to spend your tokens, and it is good practice to revoke approvals you no longer use.
If you use a centralized platform or a yield account, remember that you are then trusting that provider with custody. Spreading funds across wallets and not keeping more in any one place than you can afford to lose limits the damage from a single failure.
By the numbers
USDa in numbers
USDa (USDA) is ranked #282 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $94.5M and a price of $0.9671 as of Aug 14, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($94.5M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 1.9% over 7 days, down 1.6% over 30 days. It trades about 5% below its all-time high of $1.02, set on Jan 13, 2025.
About 97.76M USDA are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
USDA has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Mantle. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
