What Avant USD is
Avant USD (AVUSD, also written avUSD) is a dollar-pegged token issued on the Avalanche network by Avant Protocol. Avant describes itself as a DeFi platform founded in June 2024, with the stated aim of building a more inclusive financial system around a DeFi-backed stable-value token.
The platform has two main tokens. avUSD is the base stable-value token, meant to track one US dollar. savUSD is its staked, yield-bearing counterpart. Public descriptions say avUSD is minted when users deposit dollar stablecoins such as USDC on Avalanche. Some descriptions also mention USDT deposits. The project says yield comes from market-neutral strategies managed on-chain, which is a different model from a stablecoin that simply holds cash and Treasury bills.
Avant says it wants to narrow the gap between DeFi and traditional finance, and that its token should be open to anyone at any time, whatever the size of their holding. Those are the project's own statements of intent. This page does not verify them, and they are not a guarantee of how the token will behave.
What the token is used for
avUSD is built to be a unit of account and store of value that stays close to $1. Holders can keep it in a wallet as a dollar-like balance, move it between Avalanche addresses, or use it in DeFi applications that accept it.
The yield side of the design is where Avant differs from a plain stablecoin. Holders who want a return can convert avUSD into savUSD, the staked version. According to the project's public description, the return comes from managed on-chain strategies that aim to stay market-neutral, meaning they try not to depend on the price direction of volatile assets. The exact strategies, allocations and fee structure can change, so check the project's current documentation instead of relying on a summary.
As far as is publicly known, AVUSD is not a governance token and does not pay for network fees. Gas on Avalanche is paid in AVAX. If you see AVUSD described as having other uses, confirm it against the issuer's own materials before acting on it.
Supply and tokenomics
Supply is not fixed. The data shows about 116.8 million AVUSD in circulation as of 2026-11-05, and the total supply equals the circulating supply. No maximum supply is set. That is typical for a stablecoin: new tokens are created when users deposit backing assets, and tokens are removed when users redeem.
Because the supply is open-ended, market cap and fully diluted value are the same figure, about $116.6 million as of 2026-11-05, which put AVUSD around rank 245 by market cap. These numbers move with deposits and redemptions, not with speculative demand in the usual sense.
There is no conventional tokenomics schedule here, such as team allocations, vesting or emissions. The relevant questions are what backs each token, how strategies are run, and how redemption works. The project's documentation is the place to look for reserve composition, fees and any redemption limits. the public information available for this page do not include those details, so they are left out rather than guessed.
Chains, holding and trading
AVUSD is issued on Avalanche. The data lists no other chain, so assume that any version on another network is a bridged or wrapped copy and check its origin carefully before using it.
To hold it, you need a wallet that supports Avalanche, plus a small amount of AVAX for transaction fees. Minting works by depositing a supported stablecoin into Avant's contracts, according to public descriptions. Redeeming or swapping back to USDC or other assets goes through the protocol or through decentralized exchange pools on Avalanche.
Trading activity looks thin. Reported 24-hour volume was only about $491 as of 2026-11-05, which is very small next to a market cap above $100 million. Some data providers list a few centralized exchange markets, but low volume means large trades could move the price or be hard to fill. Many holders appear to keep the token mainly as a deposit-and-redeem position rather than trading it actively. Always confirm the contract address from the project's official channels before swapping, because copycat tokens exist for most popular assets.
History and price behavior
Avant launched in June 2024, according to its own description. The token's recent price history is mostly flat, as you would expect from a stablecoin, but it includes some moves. As of 2026-11-05 the price was about $0.9986. The recorded all-time high was about $1.09 on 2026-07-28, and the all-time low was about $0.909 on 2026-10-01.
A drop to roughly 9 cents below the peg is worth noting. It could reflect a brief dislocation in a thin market, a data artifact, or genuine stress, and public information here do not say which. Over the past year the price changed by only a small fraction of a percent, and over the last seven days it was nearly unchanged.
No major incidents, audits or partnerships are included publicly used for this page, so none are claimed. If you are considering using AVUSD, check for current audit reports, any incident announcements and recent reserve or strategy disclosures from the project directly.
Risks to understand
Stablecoins can lose their peg, and AVUSD has shown at least one visible dip below $1 in its price record. The main risks include:
- Peg risk: the token is meant to track $1, but nothing guarantees it will, especially when markets are stressed or liquidity is thin.
- Strategy risk: yield from market-neutral strategies can still produce losses, for example from funding-rate swings, exchange or counterparty failures, or execution errors.
- Smart contract risk: bugs or exploits in the minting, staking or redemption contracts could affect holders.
- Liquidity risk: very low trading volume means exiting a large position through the market may cost more than expected.
- Redemption and transparency risk: terms, fees or limits on redemption may apply, and reserve reporting varies in quality between projects.
- Regulatory risk: rules for stablecoins and yield-bearing tokens differ by country and can change.
Yield-bearing versions such as savUSD add further risk on top of the base token, because their return depends on the strategies working as described. Treat any advertised yield as variable, not promised. This page is information only, not financial advice.
How to store it safely
Keep AVUSD in a wallet you control. A hardware wallet that supports Avalanche is a sensible choice for larger amounts, since it keeps your private keys offline. For smaller amounts, a well-known software wallet is workable if you protect the device and its backups.
Write your recovery phrase on paper or metal and store it somewhere safe and private. Never type it into a website, share it in a chat or photograph it. No legitimate support team will ask for it.
Before interacting with any contract, verify the AVUSD contract address from the project's official channels, not from a search ad or social media reply. When approving a token for spending, set a limit where the wallet allows it, and revoke old approvals you no longer need. Try a small test transaction first when moving a meaningful amount.
Keep a little AVAX in the same address so you can pay fees. If you hold savUSD or other positions, remember that leaving funds inside a protocol exposes them to its smart contract risk, which a plain wallet balance does not.
By the numbers
Avant USD in numbers
Avant USD (AVUSD) is ranked #240 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $117M and a price of $0.9982 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($117M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was up 0.3% over 7 days, down 0.1% over 30 days, down 0.2% over the past year. It trades about 8% below its all-time high of $1.09, set on Jul 28, 2026.
About 116.74M AVUSD are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $230, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
AVUSD has token contracts on Avalanche. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
