## What is Macropod (AUDM)?
Macropod (AUDM) is a stablecoin designed to track the value of the Australian dollar. Its target is one AUDM for one Australian dollar, so it is not intended to maintain a one-to-one value with the US dollar. The project describes Macropod as a platform for digital transactions and says AUDM is issued by Macropod.
AUDM is not a native network coin used to pay for the basic operation of a blockchain. It is a token issued on Ethereum, Base and Solana. Its purpose is to represent Australian-dollar value on those networks, where compatible wallets and applications may support it. As with other stablecoins, the intended peg does not mean its market price can never move away from the target. Trading prices can vary, and the AUD’s value against other currencies also changes.
## Peg, reserves and regulation
Macropod says each AUDM is backed by one Australian dollar held in segregated trust accounts at a major Australian bank. This backing is intended to support the token’s Australian-dollar peg. The company’s project description also says Macropod received an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) from ASIC. A licence does not mean that ASIC guarantees AUDM’s value or that holders face no risk; it is important to understand the issuer’s responsibilities and the token’s terms.
Reserve arrangements and redemption procedures matter for any fiat-backed stablecoin. Before relying on AUDM, check what the issuer currently publishes about reserve verification, how holders can redeem tokens, who is eligible to redeem, and any fees or limits. Public sources describe the backing but do not set out redemption conditions. Do not assume that every token holder can exchange AUDM directly for Australian dollars on demand.
## Networks and potential uses
AUDM is issued on Ethereum, Base and Solana. These are separate blockchain networks, so a token sent on one network generally cannot be received through an address or service configured only for another. Check that the receiving wallet, exchange or application supports AUDM on the exact network you intend to use. Sending tokens to an unsupported network or address can make them difficult or impossible to recover.
A digital Australian-dollar token may be useful for holding or transferring AUD-denominated value on-chain, but public sources do not establish which specific payment services, apps or redemption routes support AUDM. Network fees and transaction times depend on the chain and its current conditions. AUDM is not a network’s gas token, so users may need that chain’s own fee token to make transactions. Confirm the token and network details in your wallet before sending funds.
## Supply and market context
At the 2026-11-05 snapshot, AUDM had about 3.59 million tokens in circulating and total supply, with no maximum supply figure specified. Its market capitalization was about $2.5 million, and its quoted price was about $0.70 in US dollars. These are changing market figures, not fixed properties of the token. The US-dollar quote reflects both AUDM’s trading price and the changing AUD-to-USD exchange rate.
A stablecoin’s target is not the same as a guaranteed market price. AUDM can trade above or below one Australian dollar, particularly where trading is limited or market conditions shift. Its circulating supply may also change as tokens are issued or removed. Treat market data as a snapshot, and consult current issuer information for details about supply and reserves rather than assuming that past figures will remain unchanged.
## Risks and storage
AUDM carries issuer, reserve, custody, regulatory and technical risks. The peg depends on the issuer’s ability to maintain the stated backing and on the relevant trust and banking arrangements. A bank, issuer or service-provider failure, changes in regulation, or problems with reserve access could affect confidence, redemption or market price. A stablecoin can also lose its peg, and blockchain transactions may be irreversible.
Store AUDM only in a wallet that supports the token on the specific network you use. Keep recovery phrases and private keys secret, use strong account security, and verify the recipient address and network before sending. A wallet balance alone does not confirm that reserves are available or guarantee redemption. If you use an exchange or another custodian, you also take on that provider’s risks. Review current issuer disclosures and the terms of any platform you plan to use before holding or transferring AUDM.
