## What Litentry does

Litentry is a decentralized identity project. It aims to let people manage and verify identity information across blockchains while retaining more control over how that information is used. Its design combines identity aggregation, verifiable credentials and privacy-preserving computation. The project describes its IdentityHub as a tool for managing identity and activity data across Web2 and Web3 services.

Litentry was built with the Substrate framework and is designed for Polkadot, Ethereum-compatible platforms and other multi-chain environments. Its use of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) is intended to support private processing, but it does not mean every identity detail is automatically private or that users face no data risks. The project’s tools and the way an app integrates them matter. Before sharing credentials, check what information an application requests and how it will use it.

## What LIT is used for

LIT is the token associated with Litentry’s identity project. Project materials describe staking mechanisms, but public sources do not specify a complete list of token functions, staking terms or whether LIT is required to use IdentityHub. Do not assume that holding LIT grants access to every Litentry feature or gives a particular governance right; check current project documentation for the exact terms.

There is also a naming issue to keep in mind. 2025 reporting describes Litentry as rebranding to Heima, while LIT is also the ticker used by the separate Lighter project. This explainer refers to Litentry’s identity project, not Lighter’s exchange token. If you are considering a transfer, trade or token migration, confirm the project name, network and contract through current official project information. A ticker alone is not enough to identify a crypto asset.

## Supply and supported chains

The token figures associated with Litentry in the snapshot are 100 million total and maximum supply, with about 45.2 million circulating as of 2026-11-05. These are supply figures, not a promise about future value or demand. Token prices and market values change, and any figures shown by an exchange may differ depending on timing and market activity.

LIT is listed as issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain; it is not identified here as the native token of either network. That distinction matters when moving tokens: Ethereum and BNB Chain are separate networks, and an address or transfer method that works on one may not work on the other. Check the selected network and the token contract before sending. If a wallet or exchange offers a migration or swap, verify that it is an official process and understand its conditions before proceeding.

## Risks and storage

LIT carries the risks common to crypto assets, including sharp price changes, limited trading activity, loss of access to a wallet and mistakes when sending tokens. Identity projects also involve a specific concern: linking credentials or activity across services can expose information or create a more complete picture of a user than they intended. Privacy technology can reduce some risks, but it cannot guarantee that every integration, device or service handles data safely.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the correct network and token, protect its recovery phrase offline, and never share that phrase or private keys. Confirm the destination address, network and token contract before each transfer. Avoid relying on a token name or ticker alone, especially given the LIT naming overlap and Litentry’s reported rebrand. If you use an exchange, check its deposit network and any current migration instructions. Losing a recovery phrase or sending tokens to an incompatible network can make funds inaccessible.

By the numbers

Litentry in numbers

Litentry (LIT) is ranked #1,817 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $4.09M and a price of $0.0905 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $9.05M, so roughly 45% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 7.9% over 7 days, down 32.4% over 30 days, down 56.2% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $13.31, set on Feb 15, 2021.

About 45.17M LIT are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (45% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $22.7K, or 0.6% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

LIT has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, BNB Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

What is Litentry?

Litentry is a decentralized identity project focused on identity aggregation and management across blockchain ecosystems. Its IdentityHub is described as a tool for managing identity and activity data.

What is the LIT token used for?

LIT is the token associated with Litentry’s identity project, and project materials refer to staking mechanisms. The exact token functions and terms should be confirmed in current official documentation.

Which networks support Litentry LIT?

The snapshot lists LIT as issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain. Check the network and token contract carefully before depositing or transferring, because the chains are not interchangeable.

What is the supply of LIT?

The snapshot gives a total and maximum supply of 100 million LIT, with about 45.2 million circulating as of 2026-11-05. Supply figures can change if the project changes its token arrangements, so check current project information.

Is Litentry LIT the same as Lighter’s LIT?

There is a ticker overlap: LIT is also used by the separate Lighter project, and 2025 reporting describes Litentry as rebranding to Heima. Confirm the project, contract and any migration details before trading or transferring tokens.

What is the market cap of Litentry?

As of Nov 6, 2026, Litentry had a market cap of about $4.09M, ranking #1,817 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of LIT?
