What JOE is
JOE is the token of Trader Joe, a decentralised exchange (DEX) that describes itself as a leading DEX on Arbitrum, Avalanche and BNB Chain. The platform lets users swap tokens, provide liquidity, yield farm and buy NFTs at the Joepegs Marketplace. Its trading engine is built on the Liquidity Book automated market maker (AMM), which the project presents as an efficient design for decentralised trading.
JOE is not the native token of any single blockchain. It is an application token issued on several networks, and the public information available list Avalanche, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and Mantle as the chains where it is issued. The related Joe V2.1 protocol version, under the LFJ brand, is a DEX release on Avalanche, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and Ethereum. Readers should not assume that every listed deployment of the protocol carries the same token.
What the token is used for
According to the project description, JOE is the native governance token of the Trader Joe platform. Governance tokens typically give holders a say in protocol decisions, such as parameter changes or the use of treasury funds, though the exact voting rights depend on the protocol's design and can change over time.
The project also says JOE accrues a share of the trading fees collected by Liquidity Pools. That means the token is tied to how much trading happens on the exchange. If trading volume falls, the fee flow that supports the token's economics may fall with it. Holding the token does not guarantee any return, and fee shares are not the same as a fixed yield.
The project does not describe a separate utility beyond governance and fee sharing, so this page does not list other uses.
Supply and market data
As of 2026-11-05, the data shows a circulating supply of about 457.2 million JOE, a total supply of about 499.7 million and a maximum supply of 500 million. The market capitalisation was about 12.8 million US dollars, with a fully diluted valuation of about 14.0 million and 24-hour trading volume of about 3.7 million. The price was about 0.028 US dollars at the time of writing, and the token ranked 1094th by market capitalisation.
The price history is steep. The all-time high was about 5.09 US dollars on 2021-11-21, while the all-time low was about 0.023 US dollars on 2026-07-29. Over the past year the price fell by roughly 70 per cent, and over the past seven days it moved about minus 2.3 per cent. These figures change constantly and are shown only as a snapshot. They are not a forecast, and this page offers no view on whether the price will rise or fall.
Chains and deployments
The data lists JOE as issued on Avalanche, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and Mantle. Token contracts on different networks are separate deployments, and they may not be interchangeable without a bridge or a wrapped version. Before sending or swapping, check which network your wallet is using and that the token matches the network you intend to use.
The launch date and consensus mechanism are not given, so this page does not state them. Because JOE is an application token rather than a base-layer asset, its security depends on the smart contracts involved and on the chains it is deployed on.
Risks and storage
Tokens tied to DEXes carry several risks. Smart contract bugs or exploits can lead to loss of funds. Liquidity can be thin, so large trades may move the price sharply. Token prices can fall quickly, as the one-year decline in the data shows. Fee-sharing models also depend on continued trading activity, which can be unpredictable.
For storage, use a self-custody wallet that supports the network you are using, and keep your recovery phrase offline. Never share it with anyone. Confirm contract addresses through the project's official communication channels, since scam tokens often copy names and symbols. Only hold amounts you could afford to lose, and do your own research before making any decision.
By the numbers
JOE in numbers
JOE (JOE) is ranked #1,091 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $12.4M and a price of $0.0272 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $13.6M, so roughly 91% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 2.1% over 7 days, down 31.6% over 30 days, down 72.1% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $5.09, set on Nov 21, 2021.
About 457.18M JOE are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 500M (91% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $3.95M, or 32% of its market cap: very high turnover.
JOE has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Avalanche, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Mantle. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
JOE is linked to Joe V2.1, which we cover in our DEXes rankings. See our Joe V2.1 page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
