What Bonzo Finance and BONZO are

Bonzo Finance is a non-custodial lending and borrowing protocol on Hedera. Users can deposit supported crypto assets into lending markets or borrow assets against collateral, without handing custody of their funds to a central intermediary. The protocol focuses on HBAR, native USDC, Hedera ecosystem tokens, and wrapped versions of major assets. BONZO is the project’s token; it is separate from HBAR, which is Hedera’s network token. Bonzo describes its protocol as open source and uses Supra and Chainlink price feeds to inform lending-market operations. The project also describes BONZO as a governance and staking token. Those roles do not make it a claim on protocol revenue or guarantee a return. BONZO is not required simply because you use Hedera, and public sources do not establish that every lending or borrowing action requires holding it. Consider the protocol and the token as related but distinct parts of the Bonzo Finance project.

What BONZO is used for

BONZO’s stated uses include governance staking, which is intended to let token holders participate in decisions about Bonzo Finance. Bonzo materials also describe single-sided staking, a feature where holders stake BONZO without pairing it with another token in a liquidity pool. Any yield from staking is variable and is not guaranteed; check the current terms, lock-up conditions, and source of rewards before committing tokens. BONZO is associated with a lending and borrowing protocol, but that does not mean BONZO itself is the asset borrowers deposit or borrow. The protocol’s lending markets focus on HBAR, native USDC, Hedera assets, and wrapped major cryptocurrencies. Governance rights may depend on the protocol’s current rules and may change through updates or proposals. Before staking or voting, confirm that the feature is live, understand whether unstaking takes time, and check how voting power is calculated. Do not assume a displayed reward rate will persist.

BONZO supply and market figures

BONZO has a maximum and total supply of 400 million tokens. About 136.35 million were circulating as of 2026-11-05, so a substantial portion of the maximum supply was not reported as circulating at that time. The timing and terms for any future release can affect the amount available to trade; consult current Bonzo materials for allocation and unlock details rather than assuming all tokens are already in circulation. On 2026-11-05, BONZO’s price was about $0.00434 and its market capitalization was about $592,000. These figures change constantly and are not a measure of future value. Trading activity was limited in the reported snapshot, which can make it harder to buy or sell at a desired price. A token’s market price can move sharply, and reported supply figures may be updated. Treat these numbers as a dated reference, not a forecast or a recommendation to trade.

Hedera network and storage

BONZO is issued on Hedera. Public sources identify Hedera as its token chain, but does not provide a contract address here. Before receiving, sending, or staking BONZO, verify the token identity and network through Bonzo Finance’s official channels; similarly named or counterfeit tokens can appear on other networks. Use a wallet that supports Hedera tokens and check that it is connected to the correct network. Keep your recovery phrase or private keys offline and never share them with a site, support agent, or person claiming to help. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys, but also makes you responsible for backups and transactions. Sending a token through the wrong network or to an incompatible address may lead to permanent loss. For larger balances, consider a hardware wallet that supports the relevant Hedera assets, and test with a small transfer when appropriate.

Risks to understand

Holding BONZO carries token-price and liquidity risk: demand can fall, markets can be thin, and you may not be able to sell at the price you expect. Staking may add smart-contract, lock-up, and reward-policy risks. Using Bonzo Finance to lend or borrow also involves risks beyond the token itself, including software flaws, changes to supported markets, oracle failures, collateral volatility, and liquidation if collateral value falls below required levels. Price feeds from Supra and Chainlink are intended to inform the protocol, but oracle use does not eliminate the possibility of errors, delays, or disruptions. Open-source and non-custodial design do not guarantee that code is safe or that funds can always be recovered. Review current contract and market details, understand liquidation rules, and avoid depositing funds you cannot afford to lose. BONZO’s governance role does not give holders guaranteed control over every protocol decision.

By the numbers

Bonzo Finance in numbers

Bonzo Finance (BONZO) is ranked #3,693 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $557K and a price of $0.004088 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $1.64M, so roughly 34% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 6.5% over 7 days, down 35.2% over 30 days, down 90.6% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $0.1720, set on Jul 30, 2025.

About 136.35M BONZO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 400M (34% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $2.40K, or 0.4% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

BONZO has token contracts on Hedera. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
