What API3 is
API3 is the token of Api3, a project that builds data infrastructure for decentralized finance and AI. Its first-party oracles deliver price feeds signed by the API providers that produce the underlying data, so a feed can be traced to its source rather than only to a node operator. The project also runs an OEV mechanism, short for oracle extractable value, which aims to return value released when a price update moves a market back to the protocols that use the feed. Beyond oracles, Api3 curates lending markets on Morpho across several networks and earns a performance fee when borrowers use them. The token is an ERC-20 issued on Ethereum and is not the native token of a blockchain of its own.
What the token is used for
Public materials point to governance as the main role of the token. Governance runs on Snapshot under the api3.eth name, with one token counting as one vote. Older material describes holders staking tokens into a collateral pool that backs coverage for the service. A 2026 primary proposal ended staking emissions, so the protocol no longer issues new staking rewards. The project also states that revenue from its business buys API3 on the market every month. That buyback is the project's own description and is not verified here. Whether it creates steady demand depends on how much revenue the business earns and on how holders vote, and public sources do not settle either point.
Supply and market data
The contract has a fixed total supply of 200,000,000 tokens. The 2026 proposal removed the ability to mint new tokens and transferred ownership of the contract to the dead address, so no further tokens can be created. Data as of 2026-11-05 showed about 164.3 million tokens circulating. At the same date the price was about 0.236 US dollars, the market capitalization about 38.8 million dollars and the fully diluted value about 47.2 million dollars, which ranked 540th by market cap. Roughly 4.6 million dollars changed hands in the prior 24 hours. The price was down about 6 percent over seven days and about 58 percent over one year. The all-time high was about 10.30 dollars on 2021-04-06, and the all-time low was about 0.184 dollars on 2026-08-14. These figures change constantly and are not a forecast.
Risks to understand
The main risks are practical and specific. Oracle services carry technical risk, since a fault in a feed or in the signing process can affect every protocol that depends on it. Smart contract risk applies to the token contract, the lending markets and any other code involved. Governance can be concentrated among a small number of large holders, which can shape decisions that affect everyone else. The market is small and the price has fallen sharply over the past year, so thin trading can produce large moves. Rules for tokens and crypto services differ by country and can change. Holding a token does not guarantee any return, and the project's own claims about revenue and buybacks should be checked against independent sources before being relied on.
Storage and checking public sources
If you hold API3, keep it in a wallet you control and confirm the token contract address on Ethereum from the project's official channels rather than from a search result, since fake tokens with the same name are common. Be careful with any site or message that asks for a seed phrase or a signature you do not understand. To follow governance, read proposals directly on Snapshot and check the vote totals yourself. Keep records of any transactions for tax purposes, and check how your local rules treat token gains and staking income. Storage choices carry their own risks, so weigh custody, backup and recovery before moving funds.
By the numbers
Api3 in numbers
Api3 (API3) is ranked #536 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $38.2M and a price of $0.2327 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $46.5M, so roughly 82% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 0.7% over 7 days, down 28.2% over 30 days, down 60.8% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $10.30, set on Apr 6, 2021.
About 164.32M API3 are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 200M (82% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $3.44M, or 9.0% of its market cap: high turnover.
API3 has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

API3 FAQs
What is API3 used for?
The token is used mainly for governance, with one token counting as one vote on Snapshot. Older material describes staking into a collateral pool, but a 2026 proposal ended staking emissions. The project also says its revenue is used to buy the token on the market each month.
Is the API3 supply capped?
Yes, according to the project and the 2026 primary proposal it cites. The contract has a fixed supply of 200,000,000 tokens, minting was removed and contract ownership was moved to the dead address, so no new tokens can be created.
Is API3 a native token of its own blockchain?
No. API3 is an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum, and public sources list no native chain for it.
Does staking API3 still earn rewards?
No. The 2026 proposal ended staking emissions, so the protocol no longer issues new staking rewards. Older material describes a collateral pool, so anyone considering staking should check the current rules directly.
Is API3 a good investment?
The data shows the price around 0.236 US dollars with a market cap near 38.8 million dollars as of 2026-11-05, and it had fallen about 58 percent over one year. These figures change constantly. This page does not give buy or sell advice, and readers should research the risks before deciding anything.
What is the market cap of Api3?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Api3 had a market cap of about $38.2M, ranking #536 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of API3?
Api3's all-time high is $10.30, reached on Apr 6, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.1837 (Aug 14, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of API3?
As of Nov 6, 2026, about 164.32M API3 were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 200M.
Which blockchains is API3 on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum.
