Gambling Tokens: How They Work, Main Types and Risks (2026)
Gambling tokens are crypto assets tied to casinos, sportsbooks, lotteries and prediction markets. Some share fees, some back a bankroll, and some do little beyond speculation.

Gambling tokens cover a wide range of crypto assets. Some are native coins of casinos and sportsbooks, such as BFG on Betfury, SHFL on Shuffle, RLB on Rollbit and QZI on Qzino. Others sit inside prediction markets, like RAIN on Rain, LMTS on Limitless Exchange and TRUE on Trueo, or inside lotteries, like LUCKY on B-Lucky and MOON on MegaMoon. They tend to promise rewards, fee sharing, staking or a say in how a platform runs, but those promises vary a great deal.
This page ranks 40 dApps and platforms that issue tokens or run in the same corner of crypto. Read it as a map of how the tokens work, where the risks lie and what to check first. It is not financial advice. You must be 18 or older, or 21 or older where required, and you should check that online gambling is legal where you live before you deposit or hold anything linked to it.

What counts as a gambling token
The label is loose, so it helps to split these tokens into groups by what they actually do.
Platform and rewards tokens. These are common at crypto casinos. SHFL at Shuffle rewards wagering and airdrops. BFG at Betfury, QZI at Qzino and RLB at Rollbit follow a similar pattern, usually offering cashback, staking or perks. CHP at CoinPoker and the METAWIN token at Metawin work in a similar way for poker and prizes.
Bankroll or house tokens. Here the token holder backs the games. Zethr is the plainest example, since ZTH holders act as the house. Divvy.Bet has a community house pool, and JustBet draws its bankroll from independent liquidity providers and settles bets in WINR. Returns depend on how players fare against the house.
Fee-share and governance tokens. Alpha Arcade sends all trading fees to ALPHA holders. Rain, Limitless Exchange and BetSwirl have their own tokens too, with BETS on BetSwirl.
Oracle and staking tokens. Augur uses REP, and Trueo uses a staked TRUE oracle, to settle disputed outcomes.
Knowing which group a token belongs to tells you what drives its value: player activity, trading volume, house results or dispute demand.
How these tokens get their value
Most gambling tokens get their value from a link to platform revenue, and that link can be strong or weak.
In a fee-share model, trading or betting fees flow to token holders or stakers. Alpha Arcade is an explicit case. The token is only as valuable as the volume that produces the fees, so a quiet market means little income.
In a bankroll model, depositors supply the pool that pays winners. When players lose, the pool grows. When players win, it shrinks. This is why Zethr and the liquidity-provider setups at JustBet and Divvy.Bet carry real downside, not just yield.
In a rewards model, the token is handed out for wagering, as at Shuffle, or used for cashback and perks, as at Qzino. Value then relies on demand from new players, since constant rewards can add to supply.
Oracle tokens work differently. Stakers back honest reporting of real-world results, and they can lose stake if they are wrong. That is the idea behind Augur Lituus and Trueo.
Some tokens have little utility beyond speculation. A useful test is to ask what a holder gets that a non-holder does not, and where the money behind it comes from.
How to choose which tokens to look at
Start with the platform, not the token chart. A few questions help sort the list.
Is the activity real? Total value locked, where shown, gives a rough sense of scale. At the time of writing, Rain showed about $11.1M, OPINION about $2.8M, Trueo about $1.7M and Overtime about $1.3M, while many small dApps showed under $100,000. Many centralized-style casinos, such as BC.Game, Duckdice and Rollbit, show no TVL at all, so you need other evidence.
Is the status current? Azuro has paused betting operations while the team rethinks its model. Narwhal Finance began as a leverage DEX and now promotes a casino on Monad. Project direction can shift quickly.
Who holds your funds? Non-custodial, wallet-only platforms such as Overtime, sx Bet and BetSwirl keep funds in your control until a bet settles. Account-based casinos hold balances on your behalf.
What are the licence and rules? Some sites cite licences, like Goated with Anjouan and TrustDice with Curaçao. A licence is not a guarantee of safety. Read the terms, including the token terms.
Is it legal for you? Check local law and the platform's restrictions. Confirm you are of legal age, and never try to work around checks.
Main risks to weigh
The main risks are easy to underestimate because a token can rise quickly when a platform is busy.
Smart-contract and oracle risk. Bugs in contracts can drain pools. Prediction markets also depend on correct outcome reporting, which is why oracles like those at Augur and Trueo matter.
Counterparty and rug risk. ZKasino is tied to a reported $30M rug pull, a Dutch arrest and a brief refund offer in 2024, and our listing advises against depositing. Treat any new casino token with the same caution until it has a track record.
House-edge risk. Bankroll tokens like ZTH can lose value during a streak of player wins. A high advertised yield often reflects a high chance of loss.
Liquidity risk. Small tokens on little-used chains can be hard to sell. Several listed dApps, including SportBet, show almost no locked value.
Regulatory risk. Online gambling is restricted or banned in many places. Platforms can block regions, freeze accounts or close, and tokens can lose value overnight as a result.
Personal risk. Gambling can become harmful. You must be 18 or older, or 21 or older where required. Set limits, never bet money you need, and seek help if play stops being fun.
Trends shaping the category in 2026
Prediction markets are the busiest area on the list. Rain, OPINION, Trueo, Limitless Exchange, Jupiter Prediction, Polkamarkets, Alpha Arcade and Bodega Market all let users trade on real-world outcomes. Many of them have their own tokens or oracle staking, which moves attention from classic casino games toward event trading.
On-chain sportsbooks are another thread. Overtime runs on six networks, and sx Bet works as a peer-to-peer exchange. Azuro's pause shows how fragile some models are. Shared-liquidity betting infrastructure is hard to sustain without steady volume.
No-loss lotteries try to change the risk. Tardly uses staked ALGO yield to fund prizes, and depositors can withdraw at any time. That differs from standard lotteries such as B-Lucky and MegaMoon, where tickets are a real cost.
Many centralized crypto casinos, including BC.Game, Rollbit, Betfury and Shuffle, continue to add tokens that tie loyalty, staking and airdrops to wagering. Whether those tokens keep value tends to hinge on continued player growth.
Expect more multichain launches and more projects shifting between casino, trading and prediction products. Watch for token rules changing, since the mix of rewards and fees can be altered after launch.
Frequently asked questions
What is a gambling token?
A gambling token is a crypto asset linked to a betting or gaming platform. It might give fee rebates, rewards, staking yield, governance rights or a stake in the bankroll. Whether it has any value depends on the platform's revenue and on whether the token is really connected to it.
Are gambling tokens a safe investment?
Gambling tokens are not safe in the usual sense. Their prices can move with a platform's popularity, and some bankroll tokens can lose value when players win. Smart-contract bugs, thin liquidity and platform shutdowns add to the risk. Only put in money you can afford to lose entirely.
Do I need the platform token to place bets?
Not always. Many on-chain protocols like BetSwirl, Overtime and sx Bet are wallet-based and have no platform token requirement for bettors, or the token is optional. Others, like JustBet, settle every bet in their own token. Check the rules of each platform before depositing.
What does it mean to be the house?
Holders of a bankroll or house token, such as ZTH on Zethr, take on the house's profit and loss. In a good stretch they may gain, but a run of player wins can reduce the pool. Treat that as a high-risk position, not a savings product.
Is it legal to use gambling tokens and crypto betting sites?
Check your local law and the platform's own terms. You must be 18 or older, or 21 or older where required. Rules differ by country and region, and some sites restrict users. Do not try to get around geo-blocks, age checks or identity checks.
Which projects on this list carry the clearest warnings?
Be cautious. ZKasino is linked to a reported rug pull and a Dutch arrest in 2024, and our listing advises against depositing. Azuro has paused betting while its team reworks its model. Check each project's current status before you hold or stake anything.
