Our verdict on Vfx

6.0/10

VerifiedX suits Bitcoin holders who want programmable BTC through vBTC while keeping their own keys, and who value recovery options that standard wallets lack. Its main strength is the Vault Account design with a 24-hour recovery window and reversible transactions. The main caveat is verification: no audits, team details or fee schedule are published in the material reviewed, and the peg and interoperability layer are newer than established bridges. Start with a small amount and read the recovery rules first.

What is Vfx?

VerifiedX (VFX) is an open-source decentralized network that calls itself both a universal layer 1 and a Bitcoin sidechain. Its stated purpose is tokenized self-custody, and it describes itself as a financial operating system for Bitcoin and real-world assets.

The product most users will touch is the SwitchBlade Wallet. It holds VFX, vBTC (a tokenized Bitcoin pegged 1:1) and other tokenized assets, runs as a command-line tool, desktop interface or web wallet, and supports auctions. In September 2025 the project announced a Crypto.com integration for buying supported assets, and a MoonPay integration is also reported.

What sets it apart is the recovery design. Vault Accounts are pitched as cold storage inside a hot wallet, with a 24-hour recovery window, escrow and self-destruct options, and some transactions can be recanted under specific conditions. Most blockchains treat transactions as irreversible, so this is a real trade-off between safety nets and the finality people expect.

The project does not publish audit reports, team details or a fee schedule in the material reviewed, so the claims here come from the project and from write-ups that may be promotional.

How Vfx works

VerifiedX is a layer 1 blockchain whose native coin, VFX, is used for smart contracts, vault recovery and the creation of vBTC. vBTC is a tokenized version of Bitcoin that the project says is pegged 1:1, so Bitcoin can be used in programmable applications while the owner keeps control of the keys.

The network is split into four narrow components: transaction validation, data relay, asset control and external verification. Nodes connect in a peer-to-peer mesh and pass events with a cryptographic timestamp and a Merkle root, so anyone can check that an event was included on-chain. Blocks are verified and finalized by a consensus layer called Proof of Assurance.

For Bitcoin, VerifiedX says it avoids traditional bridge contracts. A dedicated interoperability layer verifies finality on Bitcoin and mirrors that proof on the VFX side. On the user side, Vault Accounts add a 24-hour recovery window, escrow and self-destruct options, and some transactions can be reversed under set conditions.

8 features

Key features

01

Layer 1 and Bitcoin sidechain

VerifiedX describes itself as a universal layer 1 and a Bitcoin sidechain, so one network handles smart contracts and Bitcoin-linked assets.

02

vBTC tokenized Bitcoin

vBTC is a tokenized form of Bitcoin pegged 1:1, designed to make Bitcoin programmable while the holder keeps self-custody.

03

Vault Accounts

Vault Accounts are marketed as cold storage in a hot wallet. They offer 24-hour recovery, escrow and self-destruct options without needing a hardware device.

04

Transaction recant

Certain transactions can be reversed under specific conditions, which is meant to limit the damage from theft or mistakes.

05

SwitchBlade Wallet

The wallet holds VFX, vBTC and tokenized assets, and comes as a command-line tool, a desktop interface and a web version.

06

Fiat on-ramps and auctions

Users can buy supported cryptocurrencies, including VFX and stablecoins, through Crypto.com and MoonPay integrations. Auctions are also supported in the wallet.

07

Interoperability layer

A dedicated layer verifies finality on Bitcoin and mirrors the proof on the VFX side, replacing traditional bridge contracts.

08

Modular architecture

The network splits transaction validation, data relay, asset control and external verification into separate components, and uses a peer-to-peer mesh with no central coordinator.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Open-source codebase, so the core software can be inspected.
  • Vault Accounts add a 24-hour recovery window, escrow and self-destruct options for self-custodied funds.
  • vBTC brings Bitcoin into smart contracts without handing custody to a centralized exchange.
  • SwitchBlade Wallet offers CLI, GUI and web interfaces and covers VFX, vBTC and tokenized assets.
  • Fiat on-ramps are available through Crypto.com and MoonPay integrations, which lowers the barrier to buying VFX.

Watch out for

  • Vault recovery and transaction recant are unusual features that carry their own rules and limits, and the project's pages do not spell those out for newcomers.
  • No audit reports, validator counts or team details appear, so the security model is hard to verify independently.
  • The vBTC peg and the interoperability layer are newer designs than established bridges and have a shorter track record.
  • The ecosystem looks small next to larger layer 1 networks, so wallet, app and liquidity options are likely limited.
  • Fees are not published, so users cannot estimate costs before using the network.
  • Several coins share the VFX ticker, which makes it easy to confuse VerifiedX with unrelated assets.

Vfx fees

VerifiedX does not publish a fee schedule in the material reviewed here, so network transaction costs, vault or recovery charges and any wallet fees are unknown. Users would normally see the cost of a transaction in the SwitchBlade Wallet before confirming it.

Purchases made through the fiat on-ramp integrations are handled by the third-party providers, which set their own fees and limits. Check those at checkout. Trading VFX on an exchange adds that venue's own fees and spreads.

Is Vfx safe?

No audit reports are published in the material reviewed, and the team and validator set are not described. That leaves the security of the consensus, the interoperability layer and the vBTC peg dependent on the project's own claims. The code is open source, which allows independent review, but that is not the same as a completed audit.

The wallet is self-custodial, so you hold your own keys and carry the loss risk if you mishandle them. Vault recovery and transaction recant can reduce the damage from theft or error, but they depend on specific conditions and time windows, and they are not a guarantee. Replacing bridge contracts with a verification layer removes one familiar attack surface, but it introduces a newer design with a short track record. VFX is a small-cap asset and can be volatile and thinly traded. Only commit money you can afford to lose.

6 steps

How to get started with Vfx

  1. 1

Read the project's documentation and the open-source repository so you understand how vault accounts, recovery and recant work before moving funds.

  2. 2

Download the SwitchBlade Wallet from the official project channels, choosing the CLI, GUI or web version that suits you.

  3. 3

Create a wallet and back up your recovery information offline. Never share it with anyone.

  4. 4

Decide whether to hold VFX, vBTC or both, and consider setting up a Vault Account for larger balances.

  5. 5

Use the built-in fiat on-ramp or an exchange that lists VFX to acquire a small test amount first.

  6. 6

Send a small transaction to confirm addresses and timing, then review how recovery and recant behave before adding more.

Who Vfx is for

VerifiedX is for self-custody-minded Bitcoin holders and early adopters who want smart contracts and tokenized assets around BTC, and who are comfortable with a smaller, newer network. It is less suitable for anyone who needs audited, battle-tested infrastructure or deep liquidity.

What consensus does VerifiedX use?

It describes a Proof of Assurance consensus layer that verifies and finalizes blocks. The detailed rules are in the project's own documentation, and independent analysis is limited.

Is VerifiedX audited and safe?

No. Audit reports and independent security assessments are not published in the material reviewed here. Treat it as an early-stage network, use small amounts first, and check the project's documentation for current audit information.
