Revest Finance Review 2026: NFT Token Locking and Vesting

Revest Finance lets users lock ERC20 tokens inside transferable NFTs (FNFTs) with custom unlock conditions. It is an interesting vesting and composability tool, but current TVL is small.

Our verdict on Revest Finance

5.5/10

Revest Finance suits teams and advanced users who want to lock ERC20 tokens with custom conditions, such as vesting by time or value, and who like the idea of the lock being a transferable NFT. Its main strength is that flexibility and composability. The main caveat is size: TVL is around $98,000 and falling, and the fee schedule, team and audit details are not clearly published, so treat it as an experimental tool and start small.

What is Revest Finance?

Revest Finance is a DeFi protocol that turns locked tokens into NFTs. Users deposit any ERC20 token into an interactive FNFT and set the conditions under which it can be unlocked, based on time, value or a contract.

The project positions this as a building block for token vesting, such as KPI-based schedules for teams launching a token, and for derivatives and lending platforms that can use the FNFTs as collateral or components. It is tracked under NFT lending and has been listed since November 2021.

It runs on Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism and Fantom, and has its own token, RVST. Total value locked is roughly $98,000, which is small, and it slipped about 4.6% over the last week.

How Revest Finance works

A user deposits ERC20 tokens into the Revest protocol and receives an FNFT, a financial NFT that represents the locked assets. At creation, the user sets the rules for release: a date, a value target or a custom contract condition.

Until those conditions are met, the tokens stay locked in the protocol. The FNFT can be held in a wallet or transferred, which means the right to the locked tokens can move with the NFT. When the unlock condition is satisfied, the holder of the FNFT can redeem the underlying tokens.

This structure suits vesting schedules and also lets other platforms treat the FNFT as an asset, for example as collateral in lending or as a component in derivatives, according to the project's description.

6 features

Key features

01

ERC20-backed FNFTs

Deposit any ERC20 token into an NFT wrapper called an FNFT. The NFT represents the claim on the locked assets.

02

Custom unlock conditions

Unlocking can depend on time, price or value, or on a contract-based condition. This lets users design their own release rules.

03

Token vesting tools

The protocol describes use for KPI-based vesting for teams launching projects, instead of simple time-only schedules.

04

Composable positions

Because locked positions are NFTs, they can in principle be transferred or integrated with other protocols, including lending and derivatives.

05

Multi-chain deployment

Listed on Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism and Fantom, giving users several networks to choose from.

06

RVST token and audits

The project has a token, RVST, and two audits are listed for the protocol.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Flexible unlock conditions based on time, value or custom contracts.
  • Locked positions are transferable NFTs, which supports composability.
  • Useful for token vesting and KPI-based release schedules.
  • Available on six networks, including Ethereum and several Layer 2s.
  • Two audits are listed for the protocol.
  • Live since late 2021, so it has a multi-year history.

Watch out for

  • TVL is only about $98,000, which points to small usage and thin liquidity.
  • TVL fell 4.6% over the past seven days.
  • Its homepage is minimal, so documentation, team and roadmap details are not easy to confirm from it.
  • Fee schedule is not published.
  • Listed on six chains, but activity may be spread thin across them.
  • Smart-contract risk applies, since deposited tokens are held in wrapped NFTs.

Revest Finance fees

Revest does not publish a fee schedule. Users should expect to pay network gas on whichever chain they use, and the app itself is where any protocol fees for creating or unlocking an FNFT would be shown.

Check the interface before confirming a transaction, since fees and gas costs differ by chain and may change.

Is Revest Finance safe?

Two audits are listed for the protocol, but the auditors and reports are not named, so readers should look for the reports in the project's documentation. Tokens locked in the protocol are exposed to smart-contract risk, and the FNFT is a claim on those assets, so losing the NFT or a contract bug could mean losing the funds.

The team, governance setup and any incident history are not described. With TVL under $100,000, the protocol is small, which can mean less scrutiny and lower liquidity for any secondary use of FNFTs. Use small amounts first and do your own research.

6 steps

How to get started with Revest Finance

  1. 1

Use a wallet that supports an EVM network, such as one connected to Ethereum, Arbitrum or Polygon.

  2. 2

Open the official Revest site and read the documentation for the chain you plan to use.

  3. 3

Choose the ERC20 token you want to lock and decide on the unlock condition: time, value or contract.

  4. 4

Start with a small test amount to learn how FNFT creation and withdrawal work.

  5. 5

Review the fees and gas cost shown in the app, then confirm the transaction.

  6. 6

Keep track of the FNFT in your wallet, since it represents your claim on the locked tokens.

Who Revest Finance is for

Revest suits project teams that need flexible token vesting, and experienced DeFi users who want to lock tokens under custom conditions and are comfortable with smart-contract risk. It is less suited to beginners looking for a simple, high-liquidity product.

Revest Finance FAQs

What is Revest Finance?

Revest is a protocol where users deposit ERC20 tokens into an NFT called an FNFT and set conditions for when the tokens can be withdrawn. Conditions can be based on time, value or a contract. The FNFT can then be held, transferred or used in other DeFi products.

Which blockchains does Revest support?

The protocol is listed on Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism and Fantom. Availability and activity on each chain can differ, so check the app before depositing.

Does Revest have a token?

Its token is RVST. Public sources do not detail its exact utility or tokenomics, so check the project's own documentation before buying.

Is Revest Finance safe?

The protocol lists two audits, but audit firms, dates and findings are not named. No audit removes smart-contract risk, and tokens locked in the protocol could be lost if a bug is exploited.

What can Revest be used for?

Teams can use FNFTs for token vesting with unlock conditions such as time or value targets. Individuals can lock tokens to commit to a holding period. Because FNFTs are NFTs, they can also be used as building blocks for lending and derivatives.
