Our verdict on Prime Staked ETH
3.5/10Prime Staked ETH was a liquid restaking protocol that gave EigenLayer restakers a liquid token, primeETH, for their positions. Its main strength was the idea of keeping restaked ETH usable. The main caveat is that the app is being retired, TVL is very small and no audits are listed. It suits existing primeETH holders who need to migrate or withdraw. It is not a place to put new funds.

What is Prime Staked ETH?
Prime Staked ETH, also written PrimeStaked, was a liquid restaking protocol on Ethereum. It let EigenLayer restakers keep liquidity on their restaked assets and earn extra rewards, issuing a token called primeETH. DefiLlama has listed it since February 2024.
The project appears to have wound down. Public reporting from August 2024 say the PrimeStaked app will be retired soon, that withdrawals go through smart contracts on Etherscan, and that a migration portal moves primeETH holders to ynLSDe. The remaining value locked is small, about $45,855.
This page is mainly useful for existing primeETH holders and anyone researching how early liquid restaking tokens worked. It is not a recommendation to deposit new funds.
How Prime Staked ETH works
Restaking lets ETH that is already staked, or a liquid staking token, be pledged again to secure other services on EigenLayer in exchange for extra rewards. The catch is that restaked assets are normally locked up and can be penalised if the services they secure misbehave.
PrimeStaked sat in between. Users deposited supported assets and received primeETH, a token representing their restaked position. Holding primeETH meant the underlying assets kept earning restaking rewards while the token stayed usable elsewhere. The protocol targeted EigenLayer restakers who wanted to keep liquidity on their positions.
In August 2024 the project opened a migration portal for moving primeETH into ynLSDe, and guidance said the app would be retired and withdrawals handled through contracts on Etherscan.

Key features
01
Liquid restaking token
Deposited ETH-based assets were restaked on EigenLayer, and users received primeETH in return.
02
Multiple LST inputs
The initial plan supported OETH, stETH, mETH, sfrxETH and ETHx, with more tokens to be announced.
03
OETH and native ETH
Restaking for OETH went live in April 2024, alongside support for native ETH.
04
Migration to ynLSDe
Users could migrate primeETH to ynLSDe through a dedicated portal, with extra incentives announced during the migration.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Clear purpose: it kept restaked ETH liquid through a single token, primeETH.
- Supported several liquid staking inputs, including OETH, stETH, mETH, sfrxETH and ETHx.
- A documented migration path to ynLSDe exists for existing holders.
- Contract-based withdrawals are available even as the app is retired.
Watch out for
- The app is being retired, so new deposits are not the intended use and exits go through contracts directly.
- TVL is tiny, about $45,855, which points to little remaining activity.
- No audits are listed for the protocol.
- Restaking adds EigenLayer slashing and smart-contract risk on top of normal ETH staking risk.
- The homepage publishes no documentation, fee schedule or team details.
- Reported secondary-market trading volume for primeETH is negligible, so exiting by selling may be hard.
Prime Staked ETH fees
Prime Staked ETH does not publish a fee schedule on its homepage, and DefiLlama lists no fee figures for it. Any protocol fee on rewards or withdrawals would have been set in its contracts or documentation, which the project does not make available on the homepage.
Users also pay Ethereum gas for deposits, migrations and contract-based withdrawals. Those costs vary with network congestion.
Is Prime Staked ETH safe?
DefiLlama lists no audits for Prime Staked ETH, and the project does not publish audit reports on its homepage. Smart-contract risk is therefore unverified. Restaking also adds slashing risk from EigenLayer, and primeETH carries the risks of its underlying assets.
Because the app is being retired, there is also operational risk. Users must rely on direct contract calls or the migration portal, and fake migration or airdrop links are a common scam pattern around wind-downs. Use only addresses confirmed through official channels. The project does not publish team, custody or regulatory details on its homepage.
6 steps
How to get started with Prime Staked ETH
- 1
Check the project's official social account for the latest retirement and migration notices.
- 2
Confirm which wallet holds your primeETH and that you are on the official app address.
- 3
Read the migration guide for primeETH to ynLSDe before approving any transaction.
- 4
If you prefer to exit, use the withdrawal route through the smart contracts on Etherscan, and verify the contract address from official sources.
- 5
Keep some ETH in the wallet to cover gas fees.
- 6
Do not interact with unsolicited links or airdrop claims that you cannot verify.
Who Prime Staked ETH is for

Prime Staked ETH FAQs
What is Prime Staked ETH?
It was a liquid restaking protocol built on EigenLayer. Users deposited ETH-based assets and received primeETH, which kept their restaked position liquid while it earned extra rewards.
Is Prime Staked ETH still active?
Public reporting indicates the PrimeStaked app is being retired. A migration guide describes moving primeETH to ynLSDe, and withdrawals are made through the smart contracts on Etherscan. Anyone still holding primeETH should check the project's official channels for current instructions.
What is primeETH?
primeETH is the liquid restaking token the protocol issued against deposited assets. It represents a claim on a restaked position, so it carries the risks of the underlying assets and of EigenLayer.
Which assets could be restaked?
At launch the protocol planned to support OETH, stETH, mETH, sfrxETH and ETHx. A later announcement added restaking for OETH, and the protocol was also described as supporting native ETH.
How do I migrate or withdraw primeETH?
A migration portal was opened in August 2024, and the project's app address was used for it. The guidance said withdrawals now go through the smart contracts on Etherscan. Follow only instructions published by the official PrimeStaked and partner accounts.
Was Prime Staked ETH audited?
DefiLlama lists no audits for the project. The project does not publish audit reports on its homepage, so users should treat smart-contract risk as unverified.
