Pando Leaf Review 2026: A Mixin CDP Stablecoin Now Sunsetting

Pando Leaf is a collateralised stablecoin protocol on Mixin Network that let users mint pUSD against deposited assets. Its operator has announced a sunset, and Mixin now maintains the protocol, so new use is hard to justify.

Our verdict on Pando Leaf

3.5/10

Pando Leaf is a collateralised stablecoin protocol on Mixin Network that let users mint pUSD against deposits. Its main strength is a simple, familiar CDP design with listed audits and a bug bounty. The main caveat is decisive: Pando has announced its sunset and moved DeFi services to maintenance-only access under Mixin. It is relevant mainly to existing users who need to redeem or withdraw, not to anyone looking for a new stablecoin or lending venue.

What is Pando Leaf?

Pando Leaf is a stablecoin minting protocol on Mixin Network. Users lock collateral and mint pUSD, a token described as a decentralized stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. It was listed as a CDP protocol from December 2021 and sat inside the larger Pando Proto family of DeFi products.

The Pando homepage now carries a service update: Pando is beginning its sunset, Mixin now maintains the protocol, and DeFi services are moving to maintenance-only access. A news item titled Pando Protocol Sunset and Service Transition is dated August 2026. Earlier notices cover collateral redemption and withdrawal resuming in 2023, service restoration for Leaf on the legacy Mixin Network, and the discontinuation of other Pando products.

The project lists two audits and no governance token. Total value locked is not currently reported. Readers should treat Pando Leaf as a legacy protocol being wound down, not a place to open new positions.

How Pando Leaf works

Pando Leaf follows the collateralised debt position model. A user deposits an accepted asset as collateral and mints pUSD against it. The pUSD is meant to hold a value of one US dollar, and the locked collateral is what backs the stablecoin.

To get collateral back, the user repays the pUSD debt. If collateral value falls too far relative to the debt, positions in this kind of system are normally liquidated to protect the peg. The specific ratios and liquidation rules for Leaf are not stated in the material reviewed here.

The protocol runs on Mixin Network and uses the MTG technology that Pando describes for its products. Under the sunset plan, Mixin now maintains the protocol and access is limited to maintenance.

6 features

Key features

01

Collateralised stablecoin minting

Users lock supported assets as collateral and mint pUSD against them, the standard collateralised debt position model.

02

pUSD dollar-pegged stablecoin

pUSD is described as a decentralized stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and issued by the Leaf protocol.

03

Mixin Network integration

Leaf runs on Mixin Network and uses its MTG technology, which Pando describes as the base for its DeFi products.

04

Redemption and withdrawal restoration

Collateral redemption and withdrawal were resumed in late 2023, and further service restoration followed for the legacy Mixin Network version.

05

Part of a wider DeFi suite

Pando offered a DEX, lending and borrowing, stablecoin minting and a wallet, so Leaf sat alongside related products.

06

Bug bounty and open code

The project links a bug bounty programme and a public code repository from its homepage.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Clear collateralised design: mint pUSD against deposited assets, a well-understood CDP model.
  • Two audits are listed for the project.
  • Pando publishes a bug bounty programme and a public code repository.
  • Mixin Network now maintains the protocol, which gives existing users a defined custodian of the transition.
  • The team has publicly announced the sunset and posted a transition plan rather than going silent.

Watch out for

  • The protocol is in a announced sunset, with DeFi services moving to maintenance-only access.
  • Mixin Network is the only chain, so the product depends on one ecosystem and its wallet.
  • Total value locked is not currently reported, so there is no visible measure of remaining usage.
  • Fees, collateral ratios and liquidation terms are not set out in the material available here.
  • The project lists no token and no clear governance path for users to influence the wind-down.
  • Earlier service interruptions and product discontinuations show a history of disruption.

Pando Leaf fees

Pando Leaf's fees, such as stability or minting fees, are not published in the material reviewed here. Collateral ratios and liquidation penalties are also not stated.

Anyone needing exact terms would have to check the protocol's own interface and documentation before acting. Given the sunset notice, those terms may be changing or frozen.

Is Pando Leaf safe?

The main risk is the announced sunset. With services moving to maintenance-only access, users should expect reduced functionality and should act on official redemption and withdrawal guidance. Stablecoin pegs also depend on the protocol continuing to run, and a wind-down raises the risk that pUSD loses its usefulness or its redemption path.

The project lists two audits, but the auditors and findings are not given in the material reviewed here. Pando publishes a bug bounty programme. Earlier notices show that collateral redemption and withdrawal were interrupted and later resumed in 2023, which is worth noting. Regulatory status and team details beyond the Pando and Mixin names are not stated. Only use the official site and Mixin channels, and check your local rules on stablecoins and DeFi.

6 steps

How to get started with Pando Leaf

  1. 1

Read the Pando sunset and service transition notice on the official site first.

  2. 2

Check whether you hold collateral or pUSD in Pando Leaf on Mixin Network.

  3. 3

Follow the latest transition plan for redemption or withdrawal steps.

  4. 4

Use only the official Pando or Mixin channels to avoid copycat sites.

  5. 5

Verify collateral, debt and any fees in the interface before confirming a transaction.

  6. 6

Do not open new positions while the protocol is in maintenance-only mode.

Who Pando Leaf is for

Pando Leaf now mostly concerns existing users who hold collateral or pUSD on Mixin Network and need to follow the transition plan. It is not a sensible choice for new users seeking an active stablecoin minting protocol, since services are moving to maintenance-only access.

Pando Leaf FAQs

What is Pando Leaf?

Pando Leaf is a decentralized protocol on Mixin Network where users deposit collateral and mint pUSD, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. It is one product within the wider Pando Proto family of DeFi services.

Is Pando Leaf still active?

Not in the sense of a growing product. The Pando homepage announces that Pando is beginning its sunset, that Mixin now maintains the protocol, and that DeFi services are moving to maintenance-only access. A sunset and service transition notice is dated August 2026.

What is pUSD?

pUSD is the stablecoin minted through Pando Leaf. It is described as pegged 1:1 to the US dollar and backed by collateral that users lock in the protocol. As with any collateralised stablecoin, the peg depends on the collateral and on the protocol continuing to operate.

Which blockchain does Pando Leaf use?

Pando Leaf runs on Mixin Network, the chain listed for the project. The protocol is tied to that ecosystem rather than to Ethereum or other large smart-contract chains.

Has Pando Leaf been audited?

The project lists two audits, but the material reviewed here does not name the auditors or give the results. Users with funds in the protocol should read the official transition plan and withdraw according to its instructions.

What should existing users do?

Anyone with collateral or pUSD positions should follow the transition plan published by the Pando team and Mixin. The notices describe collateral redemption and withdrawal arrangements, so check the latest announcement rather than relying on older posts.
