ActiveGloop Review 2026: GMX GM Index and Lending on Arbitrum
Gloop is a small Arbitrum DeFi suite that offers an index token for GMX liquidity assets and a USDC lending market backed by GM tokens. Its TVL is very low, so treat it as an early, high-risk protocol.

Our verdict on Gloop
4.5/10Gloop suits experienced DeFi users who already hold GMX GM tokens and want either a diversified index token or a way to borrow USDC against them. Its niche focus is its main strength. The main caveat is size and transparency: TVL is only about $27,000, the project is under a year old at listing, and fees and risk parameters are not public. Treat it as high-risk and use small amounts.

What is Gloop?
Gloop is a DeFi suite on Arbitrum with two products. The first is an index token protocol that lets users invest in a basket of GMX liquidity providing assets, known as GM tokens. The second is a lending protocol where users deposit GM tokens as collateral and borrow USDC.
DefiLlama lists Gloop under Lending, with a TVL of about $27,197 and a 7-day change of 1.0%. It has been listed since 5 August 2025, has a GLOOP token and shows two audits. These numbers show a very small, young protocol.
Its homepage available is minimal, so this review relies mainly on the DefiLlama description. Details such as fees, collateral ratios and team information are not published publicly.
How Gloop works
Gloop builds on GMX, a perpetuals exchange whose liquidity providers hold GM tokens. Each GM token represents a share of a GMX market pool and its value moves with trader activity and the underlying assets.
The index product holds a basket of GM assets. Its Index contract calculates the weights of each asset and lets users mint index tokens by depositing, then burn or redeem them to exit. This gives exposure to several GM pools through a single token.
The lending product lets users deposit GM tokens as collateral and borrow USDC. If the collateral value falls too far against the loan, positions are usually liquidated, which is standard for overcollateralized lending. Gloop's exact parameters are not public.
5 features
Key features
01
GMX GM index tokens
An Index contract manages a basket of GM assets, calculates their weights, and lets users mint, burn and redeem index tokens.
02
USDC lending market
Users can deposit GM tokens as collateral and borrow USDC against them.
03
GM-token collateral
Collateral is built around GMX liquidity provider tokens rather than generic assets like ETH or BTC.
04
Automated index weighting
Weights across the underlying GM assets are calculated by the protocol rather than set by the user.
05
Arbitrum deployment
The protocol is deployed on Arbitrum, with its associated fees lower than Ethereum mainnet in general.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Niche focus gives GMX liquidity providers a way to borrow USDC against GM tokens
- Index tokens give diversified exposure to multiple GM assets in one position
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama
- Runs on Arbitrum, where transaction costs are usually modest
- Tracked publicly on DefiLlama, which allows independent monitoring of TVL
Watch out for
- Very small TVL of about $27,000, so liquidity is shallow
- Collateral is limited to GMX GM tokens, which carry their own market and smart-contract risk
- Borrowing is limited to USDC
- Homepage shows almost no readable information, so documentation must be found elsewhere
- Listed only since August 2025, so the track record is short
- Audit scope, auditors and findings are not stated
Gloop fees
Fees are not published. This covers mint and redeem fees on the index tokens, borrow interest rates on USDC loans, and any protocol fee or liquidation penalty.
Users should check the app interface before transacting, where rates and costs would normally be shown, and read the project documentation. Normal Arbitrum network gas costs also apply.
Is Gloop safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the auditors, dates and findings are not given publicly. Audits reduce but do not eliminate smart-contract risk, especially for a young protocol.
Risks include smart-contract bugs, GM token price swings, liquidation during volatile markets, oracle dependence, and the added risk layers from GMX itself. With TVL near $27,000, liquidity may be thin, so large positions may be difficult to exit. Custody is self-held through your wallet. Regulatory status and any incident history are not stated.
6 steps
How to get started with Gloop
- 1
Read the project documentation and confirm the contract addresses before connecting a wallet.
- 2
Set up an Arbitrum-compatible wallet and bridge in a small amount of ETH for gas.
- 3
Acquire GM tokens from GMX if you want to use the index or lending products.
- 4
Review the borrow rates, collateral limits and liquidation terms shown in the app.
- 5
Start with a small test amount and monitor your loan health if you borrow.
- 6
Never borrow more than you can repay if GM token prices fall.
Who Gloop is for
Gloop is for experienced DeFi users on Arbitrum who already understand GMX GM tokens and are comfortable with the risks of small, early-stage protocols. It is not suited to beginners or anyone who needs deep liquidity.
Gloop FAQs
What is Gloop?
Gloop is a DeFi suite on Arbitrum with two products: an index token protocol for baskets of GMX GM liquidity assets, and a lending protocol where users deposit and borrow USDC against GM tokens.
Which blockchain does Gloop use?
Gloop runs on Arbitrum, according to DefiLlama data. No other chains are listed.
Does Gloop have a token?
Yes. DefiLlama lists a token called GLOOP. The project does not describe its supply, utility or distribution, so check the project's own documentation.
Is Gloop audited and safe?
DefiLlama shows two audits listed, but the project does not name the auditors or detail the findings. An audit does not remove smart-contract risk, and a small protocol with low TVL carries extra risk.
How does borrowing on Gloop work?
Users deposit GM assets, which are GMX liquidity provider tokens, as collateral and borrow USDC against them. Specific loan-to-value ratios, rates and liquidation rules are not public.
