Our verdict on ETH Strategy

5.5/10

ETH Strategy suits experienced ETH holders who want amplified exposure and understand convertible debt, option premiums and treasury premiums. Its main strength is the idea of leverage without a liquidation trigger, backed by yield from staking and lending. The main caveat is that it is young, small by TVL, has no listed audits and relies on a complex mechanism whose claims come from the project itself. Read the documentation first and size any position accordingly.

What is ETH Strategy?

ETH Strategy is an onchain treasury protocol on Ethereum. It describes itself as an autonomous treasury that reimagines the corporate Bitcoin treasury model, popularised by MicroStrategy, in a DeFi-native form. Its token, STRAT, is meant to give amplified exposure to ETH.

The protocol was listed on a DeFi tracker in November 2025 and shows around $3.9 million in total value locked. It is classed as an onchain capital allocator, because it pools ETH and deploys it into staking and lending.

The main pitch is leveraged ETH exposure without margin liquidations or volatility decay. That is a project claim, and the design behind it involves convertible debt, bond premiums and options, which takes some effort to understand. No audits are listed.

How ETH Strategy works

ETH Strategy holds a pool of ETH as a treasury. It grows the pool by issuing long-term convertible debt. The project says treasury ETH should grow faster than the supply of STRAT, which it calls accretive dilution.

The treasury ETH does not sit idle. It is placed in staking services and in a STRAT/ETH borrow-lend market to earn yield, and that yield is reinvested into more ETH. STRAT holders get exposure to this growing pool, and the project says STRAT should move by more than ETH does when ETH rises.

Debt is meant to be controlled automatically. As debt in the system increases, the value of the call options attached to the bonds falls, which discourages further issuance. Bonds can also be deposited in the Gamma Vault, which sells ETH call options against them to earn premium income. Because the debt is convertible rather than a margin loan, the project says there is no liquidation trigger.

6 features

Key features

01

Convertible-debt ETH accumulation

The treasury grows its ETH pool through long-term convertible debt. The project says ETH treasury growth is meant to outpace STRAT supply growth.

02

Yield-bearing treasury

Treasury ETH is spread across various staking services and a STRAT/ETH borrow-lend market so it keeps earning yield.

03

Dynamic debt control

The protocol adjusts bond premiums and debt ratios in real time. It also reduces the value of call options as debt rises, which is meant to keep total debt in check.

04

Gamma Vault

Bonds can be used as collateral in an option-selling vault that sells ETH call options and earns premiums, aiming for delta-neutral yield.

05

Leveraged ETH exposure via STRAT

STRAT is designed to rise more than ETH when ETH rises, without a margin position that can be liquidated.

06

Treasury metrics display

The homepage dashboard shows treasury holdings, STRAT price, market cap and mNAV, so users can compare the token with its underlying ETH.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Clear goal: amplified ETH exposure without a margin position that can be liquidated, according to the project.
  • Treasury ETH is put to work in staking services and a borrow-lend market rather than sitting idle.
  • Debt is designed to self-limit by lowering option values as debt rises.
  • The Gamma Vault offers a way to earn option-premium yield on bonds.
  • The homepage tracks treasury holdings, price, market cap and mNAV, so the premium to treasury value is visible.

Watch out for

  • No audits are listed for the protocol, and the project does not publish audit reports on its homepage.
  • The 'no liquidation' claim comes from the project itself; the mechanism relies on convertible debt and option pricing that newcomers will find hard to check.
  • STRAT is a leveraged-style token, so losses can be larger than ETH's when ETH falls.
  • Treasury ETH is deployed into staking services and a STRAT/ETH borrow-lend market, which adds smart-contract and counterparty risk.
  • The protocol is young, listed only since November 2025, and its TVL is small at roughly $3.9 million.
  • Fees, team details and governance are not published on the homepage.

ETH Strategy fees

The project does not publish a fee schedule on its homepage. It says revenue comes from bonding and lending treasury ETH, and that this revenue is reinvested into ETH for STRAT holders.

Users should expect Ethereum network gas costs on every transaction. Any bonding premiums, vault fees or trading spreads would appear in the app or the project's documentation before a transaction is confirmed.

Is ETH Strategy safe?

No audits are listed for ETH Strategy, and the homepage does not mention any. The team and governance structure are not named there either. Treat this as unverified until you find audit reports through the project's official channels.

The design carries several layers of risk: smart-contract risk across the treasury, bonds and vault, counterparty risk from the staking services and the borrow-lend market, and market risk from a token built to amplify ETH moves. The 'no liquidation' description does not remove the chance of large losses if ETH or STRAT falls. Only commit funds you can afford to lose.

6 steps

How to get started with ETH Strategy

  1. 1

Read the FAQ and documentation on the official site, especially the sections on convertible notes, bonding and what happens if ETH falls.

  2. 2

Check for audit reports and official links through the project's verified social accounts.

  3. 3

Set up an Ethereum wallet and fund it with ETH for the position and for gas.

  4. 4

Open the dApp from the official site and review the STRAT price, treasury holdings and mNAV before acting.

  5. 5

Decide whether to buy STRAT, bond ETH, or use the Gamma Vault, and start with an amount you can afford to lose.

  6. 6

Monitor the treasury metrics and your position, and revisit the premium to treasury value over time.

Who ETH Strategy is for

ETH Strategy is for experienced ETH holders who want amplified exposure and accept the risk of a young, complex protocol. It is not suited to beginners, to people who need a simple spot ETH position, or to anyone unwilling to read the mechanics of bonds and options.

ETH Strategy FAQs

What is ETH Strategy?

ETH Strategy is a treasury accumulation protocol on Ethereum. It holds a growing pool of ETH and issues the STRAT token, which is meant to give leveraged exposure to ETH. The project describes it as a DeFi-native take on the corporate ETH or BTC treasury model.

What is the STRAT token?

STRAT is the protocol's own token. The project says it is a better way to own ETH, amplifying gains when ETH rises. The homepage also mentions that STRAT can trade at a premium to the treasury's value, shown through an mNAV figure.

Can I be liquidated with ETH Strategy?

The project says STRAT avoids margin liquidations and volatility decay because exposure comes from long-term convertible debt rather than a borrowed position that can be closed out. This is the project's claim, and readers should read its documentation before relying on it.

How does the protocol earn yield?

The treasury's ETH is deployed across staking services and a STRAT/ETH borrow-lend market. Bonds can also go into the Gamma Vault, which sells ETH call options for premium income. The project says revenue is reinvested into ETH.

Is ETH Strategy audited?

No audits are listed, and the homepage does not mention any. Check the project's documentation and official channels for audit reports before depositing funds.

What are the fees?

The homepage does not publish a fee schedule. Costs would show up in the app when you bond, trade or deposit, plus Ethereum gas fees.
