ActiveCORE Bridge Review 2026: Official LayerZero Route to Core
CORE Bridge is the official canonical bridge linking Core Network to Ethereum and several other EVM chains, built on LayerZero. It is a practical on-ramp for Core, but it is small and has no listed audits.

Our verdict on CORE Bridge
6.0/10CORE Bridge suits users who want to move WETH, USDC or similar assets onto Core Network to use its Bitcoin staking and DeFi ecosystem. Its main strength is that it is the official canonical route, built on LayerZero and reachable from seven other chains. The main caveat is trust: no audits are listed, TVL is under $1 million, and fees and limits are not published publicly. Start small, confirm the official address, and treat bridged assets as carrying bridge risk.

What is CORE Bridge?
CORE Bridge is the official bridge for Core, the Bitcoin-focused blockchain run by Core DAO. DefiLlama classifies it as a canonical bridge and describes it as a bridge between Ethereum and Core Network. It has been listed there since November 2024.
DefiLlama shows connections to Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche. Total value locked is about $952,500, down 1.0% over seven days. That is modest for a bridge. Core's own posts say the bridge is powered by LayerZero and that Base was added so users can bridge WETH and USDC.
The bridge's homepage is just the name, so details on limits, timings and fees are not confirmed here. Public sources also list no audits for it. Treat this as a necessary route into Core rather than a bridge with a long public track record.
How CORE Bridge works
A bridge moves value between blockchains that cannot talk to each other directly. On a canonical bridge, you lock or burn tokens on one chain and a matching amount becomes available on the other, usually as a bridged version of the asset.
CORE Bridge connects Core Network with Ethereum and other EVM chains. Core says it is powered by LayerZero, a messaging protocol that passes instructions between chains so the destination knows a deposit happened. The exact mint, lock and verification setup is not described publicly.
The result is that tokens like USDT show up on Core as bridged assets, for example CoreDAO Bridged USDT on CoinGecko. Their value depends on the bridge's contracts and messaging layer working correctly.

Key features
01
Official canonical bridge
Listed on DefiLlama as a canonical bridge, meaning it is the project's own route between Core Network and other chains.
02
LayerZero-powered transfers
Per a Core announcement, the bridge is powered by LayerZero for cross-chain messaging.
03
Seven connected chains
DefiLlama shows Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche as connected chains.
04
WETH and USDC from Base
Core has stated that Base users can bridge WETH and USDC to Core, covering common assets for Core DeFi.
05
Bridged stablecoin on Core
Bridged assets such as USDT are tracked as CoreDAO Bridged USDT on CoinGecko, showing the bridge issues wrapped versions on Core.
06
Entry point to Core BTCfi
Core positions itself around Bitcoin staking and yield, and the bridge is listed as one of its main entry points.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Official canonical route into Core Network, linked from Core's own materials.
- Covers seven other chains including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and BNB Chain.
- Built on LayerZero, an established cross-chain messaging protocol.
- Supports common assets such as WETH and USDC, per a Core announcement.
- Gives access to Core's Bitcoin staking and yield ecosystem.
Watch out for
- No audits are listed for the bridge on DefiLlama, and the project does not point to a published audit report.
- Fees, limits and transfer times are not stated publicly, so users cannot judge costs in advance.
- Relies on LayerZero messaging, which adds a dependency beyond Core's own contracts.
- TVL is under $1 million, small for a bridge that holds user funds in escrow or mints wrapped assets.
- Bridged assets such as the wrapped USDT are Core-specific tokens, not native versions, and trade with thin volume.
- Its homepage available is minimal, so on-site documentation of risks could not be confirmed.
CORE Bridge fees
The project does not publish bridge fees, minimums or transfer times. Users would see the quoted cost and the destination amount in the bridge interface and in their wallet's gas estimate before signing.
Expect to pay network gas on the source chain at a minimum, and possibly a cross-chain messaging fee. Check the quote each time rather than assuming a fixed rate.
Is CORE Bridge safe?
DefiLlama lists zero audits for this bridge, and public sources contain no audit report, bug bounty or incident history. That is a gap, not proof of a problem. Bridges are a frequent target of exploits, so unaudited or lightly documented ones deserve extra caution.
You keep custody in your own wallet until you sign a transfer, but bridged tokens depend on the bridge contracts and the LayerZero messaging layer. If either fails, bridged assets on Core could lose backing. Bridge only what you can afford to lose, verify you are on the official site, and avoid unlimited token approvals. No regulatory status is stated publicly.
6 steps
How to get started with CORE Bridge
- 1
Confirm the address in your browser matches the official bridge link listed on Core's own website or documentation.
- 2
Connect a compatible EVM wallet and add Core Network if it is not already configured.
- 3
Select the source chain and the destination chain, then pick the asset, such as WETH or USDC.
- 4
Review the quoted fees and the amount you will receive on Core.
- 5
Send a small test transfer first and wait for it to arrive before moving larger sums.
- 6
Keep some native gas token on the destination chain so you can use the assets you bridged.
Who CORE Bridge is for
This is for people who already use or plan to use Core Network, particularly for its BTC staking and yield products, and need to bring in assets from Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum or similar chains. It is less suited to users who want a general-purpose multi-chain swap or who require audited, battle-tested infrastructure.
CORE Bridge FAQs
What is CORE Bridge?
CORE Bridge is the official bridge for moving assets between Core Network and other chains such as Ethereum. DefiLlama lists it as a canonical bridge, described as a bridge between Ethereum and Core Network.
Which chains does CORE Bridge support?
DefiLlama lists Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche alongside Core. A Core post in the results says Base users can bridge WETH and USDC to Core through the official bridge.
Is CORE Bridge powered by LayerZero?
A Medium post titled 'Introducing The Core Bridge Powered by LayerZero' says LayerZero powers the bridge and enables cross-chain interoperability. LayerZero is a cross-chain messaging protocol, so transfers depend on its infrastructure as well as Core's.
What does it cost to use CORE Bridge?
The project does not publish fee amounts. Users would normally see the network gas cost and any bridge fee in their wallet and on the bridge interface before confirming a transfer.
Is CORE Bridge safe?
DefiLlama lists zero audits for the bridge, and public sources show no incident history either way. Any bridge carries smart-contract and messaging-layer risk, so bridge only amounts you can afford to lose and start with a small test transfer.
Does CORE Bridge have a token?
Its listed token is CORE, which is tied to governance on Core according to the project's documentation. The bridge itself does not require holding CORE, though you will need native gas on the chains you use.
